My wife and I have been taking my family to this Perkins for decades. These days when we want to see our family on a day that everyone is busy we get four generations together for breakfast. I cannot remember a time when we were disappointed. Look around, you will usually find the owners present. I highly recommend. They are busy for breakfast; give them a call a little in advance if you have a large group.

You like pancakes? I like pancakes!!! You gotta like the pancakes here!!!!
Get them any time of the day. The food here is good for a chain. The dessert are outta this world!!!! Catch them early for the dinner specials.
I love me some Perkins Pancakes!!!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jessica D.Wall Township, NJ84187169Apr 24, 2015
The service at this location was amazing. Very friendly staff.
The food was not anything out of the ordinary but it was satisfying which is the reason people go to Perkins.
If u look for the "ff" on the menu these are the options that have fewer calories which is a good option.
They also have a menu for ages 55+ with lower price.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael P.Seaside Heights, NJ1106017Jan 15, 2009
My Fellow Yelpers know me... I don't like yelping chain locales, but this place has been a neighborhood favorite of mine and my families for many moons!
Come here on a weekday and you will be greeted instantly by a host/ hostess who will be happy to seat you quickly. The restaurant is always clean, and well kept. Your order will be taken quickly, and your wait for food will not be outrageous! I did go the other day, and there was no cream or sugar on the table, but no biggie! Overall the service is friendly, and kind.
As I said food comes quick, and is always great. Nice portions and the closest you're going to get to homestyle cooking from a chain location. Breakfast food is always hot, sandwiches and salads are fresh and tasty, entrees are... OK.
They have an awesome desert, (pies, cakes, baked goods) menu, which is available for takeout. They do offer the availability of full menu takeout (curbside pickup). Their key lime pie... oooooo!!!! Yummy!!!
Overall, an awesome place to get some breakfast or lunch, one of the best places to go for desert, and baked goods. Prices are very reasonable, and service is great.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Harjeet S.New York, NY10427Jul 29, 2017
Had a sumptuous yummy breakfast. You have option of building your own omelette. With pancakes or rye bread. Awesome. Hot coffee. Enjoyed. My first visit. Definitely will revisit.

I was born in Wayside, NJ. Just a few miles from the original Perkins on Asbury Park Circle (across from the L&M Diner!).
I have always loved Perkins! Without fail, I always get the potato pancakes. Better than any other potato pancake ANYWHERE!
While the quality has gone downhill since they have franchised, I still go when I can - usually when I go to Orlando, Florida. (I live in South Florida now, so I can't go to the one in Asbury Park very often!)
I give 4 stars because of the sentimental value to me. It really does deserve 3 stars these days. In 1980 I would have given 5 stars!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jen M.Collierville, TN130407214Jul 21, 2012Updated review
Courteous service, decent food.
Dirty silverware...my pet peeve. Asked for another, and the next set was also dirty.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 8, 2012Previous reviewSeated immediately. Friendly server.
Extensive menu, lots of choices.
Liked the omelette ordered, the garden one. Hash brown potatoes were tasty, not overcooked and not too oily. Pancakes were good. Liked the apricot syrup the best. Wished they had a butter pecan syrup.
Didn't like the hot chocolate, tasted like swiss miss.
Had the lemon meringue pie, it was more bitter and not as sweet as I prefer, but still good.
Price was decent for the amount of food. - Liana L.Brooklyn, NY28131926Dec 2, 2008
Good for breakfast. Always crowded on weekends. Perkins always has pretty good pancakes, and the scramblers are yummy.

Service at the door was welcoming but everything from there went down hill. I've been eating here since I was a kid never have I've been so upset with the food my eggs was cold the cheese wasn't melted sausage was barely warm. Not a happy camper.
