My daughter Sofia started at the end of March 2018. She has a lot of energy and she started with Angelina Ballerina. She loves her ballet teacher Ms. Michelle. Such a sweet person! I love to see my daughter so happy and I really appreciate how respect and discipline matters at her school. She participated in her first recital a few weeks back and has been asking to go back on stage ever since. We are trying jazz now too. She has a lot to learn of course, but she is so happy with her new class. She loves her jazz teacher as well. She's a lot of fun. Ms. Katherine keeps them laughing. Parents are so friendly. Overall it is a great place for our babies to learn dance and appreciate it.

Instructors are profesional and care about the dancers. My daughter has developed as a person and a dancer because of this studio. They build self esteem. Lucky to have found this studio.

So after 4 years, instead of replying to my review to apologize for her bad behavior towards my then 3 year old, she dodges that and calls me out instead? Wow! And she actually stalked all my other reviews? OMG! Sorry but all 4 points you made are useless and that won't sweep under the rug your bad attitude then as a teacher. In fact as a father, I still vividly remember your facial expression as you were bullying my little girl telling her NO. Usually reviews like this serve as a wake up call. A challenge to do better. I guess after 4 years, you still missed the point.

I know this review is old, 2014, but I just have 4 things to say about it!
1. He refers to himself as Mighty Mouse
2. He refers to strippers at the Spearmint Rhino (which he gave a 1 star) as Fuggggglllly
3. He actually reviewed and gave a one star of a gas station!
4. Refers to himself as "daddy" in the third person... (weird)
Just look at all of his reviews. He's not easy to please!Aug 2, 2014Previous reviewIf you're daughter is past her shy stage, you can probably take her to this school. But if you're daughter is still going through that stage and is too young to let go of mommy or daddy then skip this place. Our little princess just turned 3 and we thought it would be nice to bring her here based on a friend's recommendation. So we enrolled our DD on the 3 to 4 year old class.
On the first week our DD wouldn't let go of mommy. Mommy had to stay inside the class and probably got surprised at what's going on with all the dancing etc. It's new to her obviously and we thought one reason we wanted her to try this class is so that she can overcome her initial fears, develop her social skills and maybe get her ready for pre-school. After the class the teacher, Ms. Bella said "next week you can't stay with her anymore" telling my wife. That's fine. The only saving grace from our DD's experience is that she got a lollipop at the end. That got her spirits up.
On the 2nd week we took her again and we got to the point where Ms. Bella carried her into the room. But my DD started tearing up so she had to give her back to daddy. Our DD ended up watching the class go on from outside the window. Again, that's fine. Ms. Bella did say to come back next week and they will move us to the "Mommy and Me" class. The next story will explain why we are not ever going back to this place and why it deserves one star (in the absence of a zero star).
As the class ended Ms. Bella started giving lollipops to the students. My daughter was with her mom and they were right behind her. My DD was reaching out for her lollipop but Ms. Bella wouldn't give her one. Our DD said nicely and sweetly "Can I have a lollipop please?" She said "this is only for kids who dance in the class". She goes on to say while looking at both of us "that's a lesson they need to learn and I don't want them to come here just for the lollipop". She repeated it saying one more time "I'M NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN but that's a lesson they have to learn". OMG! Did she really say that? Uhmmmm... she is IN FACT BEING MEAN to a clueless 3 year old! As a parent I was hurt and pissed off deep inside. My daughter now remembers her as the "teacher who didn't give me a lollipop". Why would you take it out on the kid? Seriously? We were both surprised with the utter unprofessionalism of this teacher.
Kids at this stage have trust issues. They have to feel COMFORTABLE with the people around them, their surrounding etc. You would think a teacher who seems to have been doing this for a while and is probably a parent herself knows better. Now I feel bad for her kids if she has any. We understand our daughter is probably in shock with the stuff going on around her but we were working through it taking it one week at a time. But then you meet a teacher as inconsiderate and mean as this one. Maybe she just doesn't have the patience to develop a rapport with the kids. Some people are like that. That's funny though because as a teacher that's like one of the things you should be good at.
Hope this review helps out other parents who are looking at this place for their child's dance class. - Rosemarie Y.Los Angeles, CA228279800Dec 26, 2013
If you are looking for a dance school teaching classical ballet, look no further. Likewise, if you are interested in tap dance, jazz, and hip hop classes, they are also offered here. The instructors are classically trained and the owner, who is an instructor herself, has even taught students who are now professional ballerinas.
I have a 5 year old daughter and I was looking for a school that had a good balance of technique and fun. Other studios that I had looked into were too strict, others were too casual. Perfect pointe is just right.
The studio has 2 rooms with big windows so that parents can take a peak at the action without disrupting the class. The waiting area is also quite comfy with a couple couches, coffee maker, and a play area for the siblings who are dragged along.
The price is very reasonable and the payment process is very easy and online. We are also connected on the glassboard app making it easy to stay up to date of any changes in the schedule or upcoming events. I'm a huge fan and I am so glad that I found a dance school that my daughter loves, that I love, and where we will watch her grow.

This studios is the real deal. I am a professional performer and I teach performing arts (not dance), and I studied dance for many years. I can tell you the instructors are top notch, the studio is always clean and tidy (Covina and La Verne) and the students are always put first. Both my son and daughter have danced here, and my daughter is currently on the competition team. They take the time to get to know your child and what your child needs. I am deeply grateful for such an amazing studio to be so close to where we live and go to school.

By far the best dance studio around!! We just had our 4th recital and it was amazing!!! The teachers are amazing and passionate!! They keep our girls/boys on pointe ;) and excited! My daughter has been in dance since she was 3yrs old and now almost 7 and loves it! Mrs Belle is seriously amazing and cares so much about all of her students and teachers!! This is not just a place to teach our kids to dance.. It's a place where our kids also learn structure and respect and share that same passion of doing what they love! I as a parent appreciate that and couldn't be happier! To see your child happy makes you happy!

The staffs are friendly but they need someone who knows how to run their business.
We dip in both La Verne and Covina schools. They are both clean.
This review is mainly about the Covina school.
Covina school place is not well organized. It takes days for them to reply to your emails. If it's a case sensitive matter, that time would pass and your questions would not be answered. Like when classes are going to start but they don't have your kid's ordered clothes yet for the first day of class.
They have posted rules about students being late but not enforced whatsoever. It's unfair to students who are on time and will be disrupted due to these late kids. It's unfair to parents who are always on time that theirs' and kids' time are waisted.
They also should enforced no eating in the waiting room. This is NOT a restaurant where people would bring food and STINK up the whole ENTIRE room! It's soooooo disgusting.
Prior to their recital night, we were told that they would order pizza for the kids on recital night... which they didn't. So if your kids didn't bring food, they will be hungry or thirsty. My child asked 2 adults for water on recital night and no one helped her because I was informed that everyone was busy taking care of smaller kids.
During a break we went by the backstage to see our kids to check up on them, the employee/volunteer said that they were taking care of. We didn't get to see our children. So we took what the person said and left. But I had to go back again and insisted to see my kids after 2 hours of not seeing them to make sure they were ok and that was when I was told about the water and pizza incident.
Recital night were chaotic. If it's going to be your first time, I don't think the management care what you should know and not know as a parent. They are NOT very specific on things. YOU as a parent MUST ask A LOT of question on how they operate on recital days. Your kids will be backstage the whole time. They need a better system also on checking out your kids. They should at least announce to form a line outside so it won't be chaos... because we know how people are, if there are no instructions, like forming a simple line, these uncivilized people will just walk through and pass you to get in infront of the door to get their kids.
They just need more organizational skills, I think.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for your review of Perfect Pointe Dance. Here at Perfect Pointe we try to do everything that we can to ensure a safe, supportive environment for our dancers. We attempted to reach out to you via Yelp to discuss your concerns but have had no response, so we are unable to contact you personally since we do not know who you are.
Recital time is an exciting and busy season each year. Every year, we provide a recital packet full of information for our families - this last year it was 8 pages long. We also post reminders and information on our facebook page, and we send many emails with even more information (I am sure that there are some people who feel we provide too much info). We encourage everyone to read the information that we send out in order to avoid misunderstandings. We strive to learn and improve every year in regards to making our recitals run smoothly, and we welcome constructive recommendations from parents (we even mention this in our recital packet).
For safety reasons, only volunteers and teachers are allowed backstage. If every parent were to go backstage, there would be chaos. We appreciate all of the hard work and care that our volunteers put in for every show - they are the true unseen heroes who take care of all of our dancers. They are constantly busy backstage trying to meet the needs of everyone and do a tremendous job. The release of our dancers is always busy, but we have never lost a child in the process, and again, we place the safety of our kids above anything else.
We certainly want all children to have water backstage. We did mention in the recital packet that no food or beverages are allowed backstage except for water (facility rules, not ours). Most parents always send water with their children, but we will make sure to provide an extra reminder this year to all parents, in addition to mentioning it in our recital packet as usual. Most parents also pick their children up between shows to provide a meal for their child.
The last few items that I would like to quickly address are studio (not recital) related. Many of our students take 3-5 hours of dance per day. As such, they need to make sure to take care of their nutritional needs and keep their energy up. It would be unrealistic, unhealthy, and unkind to require that no outside food be brought into the studio - many kids eat their dinner at the studio, and we are happy to provide the space for them. We also receive hundreds of emails each week, and occasionally we will miss something. We encourage all parents to contact us again if they feel that their questions/concerns have not been answered. And finally, we do send reminders about all important dates and times and make every effort to ensure that we have the correct email address for families. We did explain in a previous email to everyone that we would be ordering uniforms after we knew what sizes we would need. Although we would like to have an extra $10,000 available to completely stock our store, the reality is that we are a small business and need to make the best utilization of our funds.
Finally, all of these items are things that we can easily address if parents come to us personally with their concerns. We prefer to focus our time on teaching the next generation the love of dance in a safe, friendly, supportive environment. Don't sweat the small stuff.
Kindest Regards,

The growth of my child since beginning here has been exponential! I am pleased with the Dance teachers, staff, choice of song and choreography (which is appropriate for each age level), and competition opportunities. I highly recommend both the Covina and LaVerne locations.

My twins have been with Perfect Pointe for 8 years & I've never regretted my choice . Every teacher is phenomenal and all professionals. Ms Belle is one of the most amazing instructors & I attribute her expertise to my twins' success with ballet. Ms Belle has been supportive since the beginning. I have enjoyed seeing the business grow and I am so proud to be a part of a business that will only be the best in the area soon enough. She even created a boys program to encourage more male involvement- what a forward thinking business. Best dance studio in San Gabriel Valley! Proud to be a part of Team Perfect Pointe. Professional recitals, amazing dance competition team, awesome dance classes.
