Sadness. I've gone here for decades and loved this little hole in the wall. The staff has always been nice and the food very tasty and consistent. I was planning on ordering take out today but yelp says they're permanently closed.
Thanks for the noodles and the memories...
You will be missed.Helpful 7Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 3 - Nov 17, 2022
Wow! What a find tonight for dinner...
We had: garlic chicken- cashew chicken-Mongolian beef- beef chow mein. We asked for moo shoo pork, but they did not have it so the waitress said she'd give us some soup! I don't know her name, but she is a sweetheart!!! (She is very tall, short hair, thin, and very very very friendly!)
The food was excellent! Please tell the chefs they have hit all the flavors on the nose. Delicious. We have found our new Chinese restaurant! We will definitely be back...
Thanks for the good eats...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Laura R.Los Angeles, CA161419Nov 4, 2022
Lies on closing time. Clearly states 10 P.M. but the rude lady when we walked inside said they close at 8:00 P.M. I asked why on yelp, and google it says 10, and she just repeated 8 CLOSE. Um relax.
I would be surprised if I come back. I can't stand when people are rude. The busboy was more helpful in explaining about the time than she was ( I'm assuming the owner, horrid hairstyle black hair)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Aug 29, 2021
OVERALL
This is the place to go for Chinese Korean cuisine served in Downtown Downey. That's all I got as I was sorely disappointed.
ENVIRONMENT
This small restaurant is sandwiched between two popular bars, Bastards and Lock & Key. Inside could use some updating. Honestly, I've been living in Downey long enough to know that this place has not always had an A rating posted outside, so I took a chance finally. Indoor seating only with big and small booths along with some tables and chairs.
SERVICE
There was an obvious veteran waiter - possibly of this particular restaurant, but I can't say for sure as this was my first outing here. The man behind the register was just flat out rude the majority of my visit, but I still tried to kill him with kindness.
MY FAVORITE PART...
The cold beer!
NOT SO FAVORITE PART...
Gnats flying around my food my entire meal. Plus not knowing what type of chicken I would get next... good or bad tasting.
THE GRUB
- fried crispy Chinese noodles with two sauces were served prior to my meal... not really a fan, but a nice gesture.
- free hot tea served with meals... kind of bland, though.
+ Tsing Tao ($4.95) - it's a decent light Chinese beer. Pronounced "ching + dow."
- Orange chicken ($15+) - the sauce had a nice flavor and was more like a syrup than any other texture. The batter had a slight crunch which I enjoyed, however, half of the chicken was old tasting, not fresh while the other half was good. There were also long strips of orange rinds that just weren't my thing. This dish was a bit spicy.
- The white rice served in a separate dish was mushy and sticky.
PARKING
Street parking or a small lot around the back is available for free.

This place is always a hit for me & my family. The food is delicious & the service is amazing. It's a Chinese Korean restaurant with huge portions.
The black bean noodles (every single type) is so good & always our go-to.
Mongolian Beef - I am so curious to know how they get it so juicy & tender!! It never fails us.
Sweet & Sour Pork - Always a good choice & perfectly crispy with the sauce all over it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 28, 2021
Tasty, fresh, and authentic Chinese food. Impressed with the quality of food and most of all the fact i've been sleeping on this one...Not to mention at such close proximity to me.
Spicy garlic Shrimp is truly worth every cent you pay. This rich sauce is a winner on the tempura fried shrimp.
Chowmein is one of the best i've had ever and the most important highlight is how moist it is. I can care less for the Mongolian beef... although it was good, it is not an item I would order again.
This place is conveniently located in the heart of Downey with close proximity to other restaurants/bars. The Pandemic situation has cause for the front parking spaces to be eliminated due to outdoor dining so you will have to walk to get here. Weekends can get quite crowded and parking a hassle.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - 3615124916566Jan 28, 2022Updated review
Totally did a makeover and I love it! I still think it's the best Chinese food in Downey. Right in the heart of it all ! New and improved downtown Downey! Why not come here for dinner on Wednesday night then afterwards go next-door to Epic lounge for karaoke ! Perfect DateNight

It's right next to bastard , epic lounge, and lock and Key . It the heart of it all . The new downtown Downey. Do not expect anything pretty. This is not the restaurant you go for ambience. What you will find a fairly reasonable Lunch Special. I walk in and look for a nonmeat options luckily lots of vegetable dishes ! In Crystal TruForm I always try to get something different from the last visit. leave it up to me order Moo shu Veg . I didn't know what it was to my surprise it's the one meal that looks like a burrito . Ask me how I found Mexican food and a Chinese restaurant I have no idea #LatinGirlProblems :/ it's vegetable eggs wrapped in a burrito. It was good I just got rid tortilla .My friend eats meat and I knew exactly what she should get . One Mongolian beef please. I didn't hear a word from her until she was done #Delicious

Delicious Chinese food for an unbeatable price. I love coming for the lunch special and enjoying the egg flower soup and hot tea with my meal.
Service is always quick and friendly as well! I don't think there's ever been a time that I come and have to check in on my order. They're on it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jd L.Los Angeles, CA4611552Oct 14, 2022
