We had an amazing experience with PAWS. I made an appointment with them a few months in advance for our cat to be spayed and microchipped. They communicated in advance with reminders by text for our appointment.
When we arrived the day of, the staff was friendly and transparent with their process and prices. We dropped off by 8am and picked up by 1pm. Their prices include 3 days of pain meds and we got her microchip done as well while she was out.
I would definitely recommend them and will get our future pets fixed here as well!Helpful 38Thanks 0Love this 34Oh no 1 - 41098611719Feb 8, 2021Updated review
Love this place. With covid right now when you arrive go ahead and check in inside. You can take the paper work to your car and bring it back in when your done. They will text you when it is your turn or you can wait inside. Can't beat that.
I live far from here so the service is so appreciated since I have 2 little ones. I do not like to bring them to appointments or grocery stores. I do not have a sitter for them so it was so convenient. Keeps us and other safer.
I received a text when they were ready for us and I stepped out of the car and there was a gal ready to take our pup back. Less than 5 minutes they were done and his vaccinations were up to date. They aren't able to help with his teeth for they are too severe she said. But recommended Pet Dental in Peoria who can take more severe cases. They are closer to me which is great and they also offer dental services as well.
They enforce social distancing, masks are mandatory and they provide hand sanitizer at the desk.
They were closed a few weeks due to covid, but are back open. Highly recommend. This place is super busy all the time and they do a great job.Helpful 26Thanks 0Love this 24Oh no 0Jun 29, 2020Previous reviewWe scheduled an appointment to have our rescue dog's teeth looked at. No matter how much I brush them they were just too far gone not to treat. Niko is a pom-chi. Our dog was so nervous while we waited. He has anxiety. He picked up our dog and took him back to examine him. I never heard a peep out of him and he came back all calm and happy. I do not want to forget to mention we were accidentally an hour early trying to get across town on time in traffic. The doctor accommodated us even though it was surgeries early in the day and consults in the afternoon. That was very thoughtful.
The day of the surgery our poor dog had 18 teeth removed. This hadn't been our dog's first tooth removal rodeo. The time before that he had 3 teeth removed somewhere else, and it was way more expensive than his 18 tooth adventure. He was 11 years old at the time. They did the blood work to make sure he was in good health first. Our dog did great. I really recommend this place. It was quiet and clean.
Think about standing all day long every day removing teeth, spaying and neutering animals. Surgery after surgery. That takes a trooper. Just like seeing nurses and doctors deliver babies. We are exhausted when our family is having that baby, those doctors and nurses are continually doing it one after another daily. I do not know how they do it. I think anyone has the right to pick and choose who they feel comfortable your working on in the animal world. Doctors are human too. What a lot to give at such a discount. - Bambi H.San Francisco, CA01Jun 8, 2023
Dr Scot Diskins at PAWS Spay and Neuter Clinic killed my 8 month old puppy during a routine spay. Then had the audacity to lie about it. We had a neucropsy done that shows that he lacerated her spleen in five places, preformed a splenectomy and cut the splenic artery and didn't bother to sew it up. He left her to bleed out and die.
He didn't admit fault to any of it, in fact tried to cover it up
I would not recommend this vet or facility to anyone.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Bethany H.Mesa, AZ01Jun 5, 2023
Today was our 4th time using this facility for spay/neuter and it was another easy and pleasant experience. I have recommend PAWS to lots of people and will be back if the need ever arises.

My fiancé and I have taken all of our animals here to get fixed and we never had a problem with them until this morning. I scheduled a neuter for my cat 3 months ago just to show up today to be greeted by a note on their door stating they were closed. They never even contacted us to let us know to reschedule. Instead they let us to believe that we still had an appointment today so my poor gizmo hasn't eaten for 10 hours just so he can have his surgery that was not happening at all. I've never felt so mad in my life at a company until now

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMALS DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE THEM TO PAWS!
Please spend the extra money and go to a real vet that actually cares about your pets. Cheap isn't always good!
My experience at Paws the modern spay-neuter was anything but pleasant. When I first called to set up an appointment for my puppy to get fixed, he's a small chiweenie. The lady that took the call was so unfriendly and rude, I just brushed it off. She gave me a date that doesn't exist. Once I hung up and went to put it in my calendar (because I had to wait 3 months) I saw that she had given me a date that doesn't exist I called back Immediately and the next lady that answered the phone acted the exact same way just rude and unfriendly, but she fixed the appointment.. My appointment was at 8am on 7/21/21. I drove over 30 minutes to Paws. I get there and no other customers were there. The front desk lady was nice actually and handed me a clipboard to fill out the paper they needed... my puppy was kinda barking because he can hear other dogs, etc. I hushed him as the "doctor" walked from room to room so he knew my puppy was a lil barkie. I hand in my paper and the "doctor" called my dog's name and we go in the exam room there was no interduction nothing, just felt cold and unwanted. So I pick my puppy up and put him on the exam table. The "doctor " pulled open a drawer and my puppy barked at him, he gave my puppy the meanest look I have ever seen on anyone's face and I pull my puppy toward my chest and say "I'm sorry" he rolled his eyes turned around walked out and slammed the door, SO hard! I couldn't believe what I just witnessed, as I'm trying to process what the heck just happened the "doctor" came back, I ask very calmly and respectfully "are you the nurse or the doctor?" he says, "I'm the doctor " my jaw dropped to the floor I said "you are the doctor and you get mad at my puppy for a bark, you roll your eyes and slam the door with all your might and scare my puppy even more!? He proceeded to get angrier and threw his clipboard down and screamed "GET OUT!" I said "what no way, why?" I am still calm because I am absolutely puzzled by how I am getting treated. It was the most unprofessional encounter I think I have ever been in. I asked him again why, sir, all I did was ask him why he acted like that and he said that I "offended him, " I said "how did I offend you?" He didn't answer me and screamed "GET OUT!" then looked at the front desk lady and told her to call the cops, of course she didn't because there was no reason to. So I asked again "why did you act like that sir? "
He screamed "how would you feel starting off your day with a dog barking " I said " Sir, he's a puppy, he's scared this is a new place, new people" he then screamed "well do you ever take him ANYWHERE? " Then screamed "LEAVE!!!! I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I'm glad that he showed his true colors and kicked us out, who knows what kind of hell he would have put my baby through. On their website it says that it's a priority to make their customers feel comfortable and welcomed and stuff like that which is a total lie, I should be able to sue them that's false advertisement . I was going through the reviews and there are a lot of reviews similar to mine, they have been doing this for years this needs to stop. And instead of helping the people that leave the bad reviews they lie and say "we could not find this name in our records" or they make up things like the dog was lunging at them or something like that, they never take responsibility for their actions! I can't wait to see what they're gonna say to this comment, a bunch of lies most likely, that's their track record and I don't see them just changing and doing the right thing anyways. I'm going to look up every single person that left a bad review and send them the link to report DR.Scot.DIskin and his crew to the Royal College Of Veterinarian Surgeons. They will regulate the professional conduct of vets and will investigate your complaint. For anyone else that has had these problems with Paws please go and make a complaint against them they need to be stopped and for future patients I would highly, highly recommend not to bring your fur babies here if you care about them. There are allegations of them leaving the poor animals in cold metal cages with no blanket or nothing sending them home covered in urine and feces. They even threw the leash at a pet owner and said "done" jaw dropping.. Then their response to the reviews Insinuating that these people are lying. Why would anybody go and leave a review on Google and yelp and make up a story like this about a place they never been, I don't think so! Plus there's so many other reviews just like mine. This place could care less about the animals the doctor thinks he's a God.. It's truly terrifying knowing that they have animals in there and that other customers bring their animals to them.Helpful 7Thanks 3Love this 0Oh no 3 - Tiana T.Phoenix, AZ2607Mar 20, 2023
It's sad to see how many bad reviews this place has. I had a great experience here with front desk staff and the Dr. Took my 8 month old 8 pound Mini Dachshund to get spayed and it went so smoothly. Clear instructions after surgery and no issues after. Would recommend this place to anyone!

The vet here is clearly too big for his britches and spoke and acted like a BIG JERK!
If this is how he talks to the pet owners - then I highly believe he has little time to care properly for his patients!!
I asked him a few very basic questions about anesthesia and how long my pet would be sedated pre-appointment, and was vague with answers, got angry and cancelled the appt. This was a red flag about his care practice, if he can't answer very simple patient care questions, clearly he can't be bothered to care for my pet kindly !!
This vet advised me that my small breed dog would be pre-sedated in the kennel for over an hour while she waited for her spay surgery. So she would be sitting in the kennel sedated for no reason.
I booked my pet's spay over a month ago, so I had looked forward to this appt., The receptionist who took my call was pleasant, helpful with information, no concerns. The receptionist who I met at the appointment at 08:00 was flat, no personality, unwelcoming.
I found a much better clinic with similar pricing and lucked out with a same day appointment (this does not always happen!), and had a night-and-day experience!! I highly recommend SpayAZ.comHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

I answered this clients questions very patiently, but she kept questioning our procedures for nearly 10 minutes during check-ins for surgery. With nearly 100,000 surgeries, PAWS has an extremely safe and effective anesthesia protocol. The client did not appear to be comfortable with our protocol. So, we suggested she use a different veterinarian.

Drove 40 minutes to this location because the rescue I picked my two dogs up from said they like to use this location and will bill the rescue for their puppy shots, etc.
Called the location at 11am on a Monday to inquire about their Covid regulations and what to expect. No one picked up the phones after SEVERAL attempts. The voicemail for this place stated vaccinations from 2-4, with no other communication.
Arrived that same day at 2:40. When entered I was immediately told they are booked for the day, try again and to be there at 2pm no later.
Poor communication and a massive waste of a drive.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steven S.Placentia, CA130262May 10, 2022
Pet parents beware. Very unfriendly to you and your loved pet. Vet is aggressive and rude.
