About the Business
Parmesans slogan of Pizza*Pasta*Pastry gives a brief overview of what we do. Our hand-pulled old-fashioned pizza crusts are baked directly on the stone, giving the pizza a distinct crispy crust. Parmesans has many signature pasta dishes but also our menu will give customers the chance to witness Michael's classical culinary training offering specialties such as beef and sausage braciole, chicken francaise, wood-stone roasted loin of pork, and "the best eggplant around." Also, no meal would be complete without our homemade deserts! Here at Parmesans we feature an extensive pastry section. Hand-dipped chocolate truffles, carrot cake, cheese cake, our unique creation of chocolate pizza, and many others.

This was my second time here and I was a little disappointed as my first visit was good. Nothing wrong with the cleanliness or the prices which were good. The ventilation was a little rough but I wasn't sure if it was from the wood burning stove or the smoke house next door. My eyes were watering from that so that didn't help.
The gourmet pizzas are labeled as app size for two people so we ordered a meatball melt pizza (thumbs up!), my egg plant app and his combo of chicken parm and lasagna. I ordered an eggplant app and got a sandwich, which I kept. Just removed the bread. They were nice about it and comped it off the bill. It was okay. My husband did not care for the lasagna. He said he tasted something that wasn't quite right for a lasagna as an ingredient like vinegar. His palate is dif from mine and I didn't taste that but it was off a little bit. Basically, we finished the pizza and took the rest home. He did like my eggplant and the chicken so that was a plus.
Not sure if we will go back other than for the pizza. That also seemed to be the main thing other diners were there for so perhaps that is their biggest draw.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christelle S.Washington, DC41417458Feb 15, 2021
Had a craving for wood fired pizza and this place was the closest to me at the time. Drove up but because of covid they are take away only. I ordered online from the parking lot and pizza was ready quite quickly!
I had the margarita which was very good. It doesn't come with a tomato base, which is listed on the menu. I think I was just hungry and missed that when I was ordering - it was still good though!
I'll be back to try some of their other pizzas in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julie K.New Lenox, IL7012625Feb 9, 2020
I want this review to be better. Honestly the people here are so nice and worked so very hard.
However, second time here and I think it was again not great. #1 issue that they don't realize is effecting so many thing is no buser. If they had one buser for the whole restaurant it would be a game changer. Tables are slow to be cleared, have to ask and wait for water, silverware and bread.
The food is good. But not great. I'm not sure why every dish comes with spaghetti... it feels lazy. Some dishes should come with potatoes, etc.
Service is a slow and the restaurant is poorly laid out. I had to play defense against getting hit by servers constantly. We sat down knowing what our order was. Took 15 mins for a server too get to us. Took 45 more mins for us to get our food.... and the food wasn't worth the wait. I had chicken francaise... it wasn't bad, but it was odd. And had no business being served with spaghetti with tomato sauce.
Overall the experience was a disorganized: from the restaurant layout, to the service, to the food, to the taped together menu. It wasn't a relaxing good meal. It was like watching chaos in action.
The reason I won't be back is that I don't see anything changing. The restaurant looks like it was built as a fazoliis and they are trying to make it work. They need to bring in someone to help them with a bit of a remodel to allow the space to work better (take the bar out and put a real kitchen window in), rework the menu, add a buser and invest some money in reaL napkins, and a few updates. This place needs some love, an investment and a honest conversation among owners that there is room for improvement.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maggie B.Oak Lawn, IL64248Jan 24, 2021
Ordered carry out garlic bread rolls and the Gourmet Margherita Pizza. Best bread rolls and pizza crust I've tasted in this town. Service was quick and professional.

Went back again, calamari, veal park was excellent. Made the mistake of trying the roasted pork with glaze for $18. It was terrible and the side pasta was mostly water. Pork was fatty and cold. Will think again about coming back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 7, 2016Previous reviewOrdered fried calamari and a large pizza. Was not expecting such a large order of calamari, it was great. I was expecting a thinner crust but it was still a great pizza! Will go back again very soon.

Have ordered from here a few times since my last review & also dined in. The first time seemed to be just a fluke, each time after has been perfect. The antipasti salad is aaaaaaamazing and the pizza is great.

I love the thick garlicky crust. I just ordered delivery and had a couple dislikes. Their Italian beef pizza has no size or ingredients listed online so I just took the $15 price and had my own idea what it would look like....what came was not that. It was a little on the small side, maybe 10" and there was nothing on it except Italian beef and cheese. It could have really used some hot peppers or green peppers, but I still liked it because I really love their crust. The "pepperoni bun" was a little burnt and had a strong taste to it that I didn't enjoy, maybe it was the pepperoni. That being said, the minestrone soup was sooooo good. The rolls that came with it were a nice surprise (I've always loved their bread&pesto) The caesar salad tasted homemade and had a kick to it and I liked that a lot too. So I'm kind of in the middle, will definitely try more either visiting the restaurant or ordering again.

Love this local Italian restaurant. If you dine in, you get free fresh baked bread and delicious, homemade nut-free pesto. I always get the eggplant Parmesan dinner. My kids generally get the fettuccine Alfredo.

Good food. I feel compelled, however, to offer a little advice. Women: wear pantsuits. Men: refrain from wearing your kilt at this establishment.

Despite the recent negative reviews here on Yelp, I wanted to tru Parmesans as soon as I heard it was a wood-burning oven. Love that kind of pizza. And so glad we went; We had a great time last night. Tasty food, attentive service, good pricing.
More details:
We were there on an early Friday evening, about 5:30pm. Wasn't too crowded yet. My children, not always willing to try anything new that is green in color, tried the complimentary pesto with the fresh bread and I had to stop them eating it so they's have room for pizza. It was so good, I saved some to try the pizza crust with and that was really good, too.
We did medium 14" flat crust, half cheese, the other half extra cheese, pepperoni on one quarter, and sausage on the other quarter. Both of my kids absolutely loved the pizza. In particular, the gooey cheese and they really liked the sauce wasn't too sweet. I liked the sausage, though it was a little too flavorful for them (i.e. just a touch spicey). The end crust was the right kind of crunchy, the underneath crust I was hoping would have been a tad crunchier. While it was certainly sturdy enough to hold in your hand to eat, I would perhaps let it have cooked another minute or two to make sure.
Lastly, our server Sarah was patient with the children, polite when asked questions, and attentive - yet knew the right times and the right amount of frequency to come check on us.
Kids asked to come back after their first bite of pizza, and we will certainly do so.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hillary L.Homewood, IL598574Oct 9, 2018
Delicious food, just like the Tinley park location. (But better than Tinley parks location because there's more parking & no commuters opening doors all the time, causing drafts in the winter!!)
The waiters are not as attentive or quick as the Tinley park location though!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
