They had the best Crab cake " appetizer " For $35. Amazing. Worth every penny. Then they took it off the menu. My friend was there today ( Father's Day). It was available. Does anyone know if it is back on the menu for good?

I just recently celebrated my birthday, there, last weekend. It was on my bucket list to eat there, as many friends and family had highly recommended it.
Honestly, I think it was way overpriced for the food they serve. The prime rib was good and cooked to my liking, but for $60. I added the lobster, and it was undercooked and squishy. I should have sent it back, but it took a long time to get our food, so I just sucked it up. Adding the lobster costs $40, so my meal total was $100. Needless to say that I was very disappointed. Never going back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Trinh D.Phoenix, AZ1439784Apr 17, 2024
Went here for my birthday yesterday.
The outside is cute and decorated with lights and there is a fountain.
We ordered a dozen oysters for their happy hour. The oysters were delicious.
We both ordered the filet mignon with crab lump.
Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection. The sauce was delicious. The steaks were flavorful.
I personally did not like the spinach as a side as I didn't have any flavor.
The baked potatoes were huge !
We ordered the blood orange drink and swamp thing. The swamp thing was strong but sweet; overall a good drink.
Service was great.
We received a complimentary desert (I chose key lime pie) it was also delicious.
We had a nice time and would come back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 18, 2024
I recently dined at Pappadeaux with some friends who were visiting us from another state. The seafood cheese fondue was excellent and was probably the best thing I ate that night.
The service was good and attentive, no issues there. We were able to be seated immediately, as the restaurant wasn't too crowded on a Thursday evening around 6.
I ordered the "aged" ribeye, and wasn't overly impressed. For a $58 steak it missed the mark. I don't know if it's wet aged or dry aged, but aged steaks tend to be extremely tender and tasty, and it was just kinda ok. I also ordered 2 scallops to accompany the steak, at a rate of $16 extra. The scallops were small and not extremely fresh, but I guess that's to be expected for AZ seafood. How fresh could it possibly be having to travel here from the coast?
Overall just an ok experience, and was probably a mistake to order beef from a seafood place, but at least now I know what not to do.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 22, 20241 check-in
Was extremely excited to visit Pappadeaux after my co-worker was raving about it!
The ambiance of the restaurant was very intimate and seemed perfect for a date or a dinner with family. Loved the dim lights and flowers around the restaurant.
The food was fresh, hot, and tasty! I went with the fried soft shell crab and fries and it did not disappoint. The breading wasn't too overpowering and was well complimented with the lemon I squeezed over the food. The fries were on point - crispy, perfectly salted, and thick.
However I will preface, the seafood is very pricey. Be prepared to spend upwards of $40-$90 per person.
The service was speedy and very kind! Our waitress was very accommodating! She made sure our waters were always filled and that we got plenty of fresh bread to start the meal off.
Great team experience that I'll never forget. Very excited to check out Pappadeaux's the next time I'm near one!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 4, 2024
We love Pappadeaux! We arrived about 5mins late for our reservation, and they accommodated us with no issue. The restaurant is HUGE, but still feels intimate when sitting amongst family. You are going to spend roughly $100 per person here if you are grabbing appetizers, drinks, etc! The portions are pretty large, so you can share or take home leftovers. All of our food came out fresh & tasted amazing. We started off the night with drinks and appetizers. My peach sidecar was delicious. Fiance loved his his grand hennessy, which he is going to attempt to make at home.
For appetizers, my mom went with the cheese balls. We decided to try the crab & spinach dip. The bread that was used for the dip was SOOO GOOD! It was perfectly crispy, not to hard. I also recommend the house salad with the creamy vinaigrette. My crawfish etouffee was immaculate. I can not wait to devour my leftovers. One of my aunts got the fried shrimp entree, and those shrimp were some of the best I have ever had. I think what set it off was the cocktail sauce. Lastly, the cheesecake is out of this world. My only suggestion overall would be to pay more attention to the bathroom. It definitely needed a good scrub with all of that foot traffic. However, we had a great time at Pappadeaux, and enjoyed every bite!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 4, 20241 check-in
OK, if you check my profile I rarely give less than four stars. Here's why Pappadeaux seafood kitchen deserves two or maybe even one stars. Their prices are outrageous! $16 for a crown and soda? A basic protein appetizer is 20 bucks? I have been going to Pappadeaux since the late 90s, and their prices were decent. NOT this time.
2nd, my friend booked the patio for a birthday party with a certain number of patrons. Fortunately she got more response than she thought, but Papadeauxs manager CHIDED her for having too many people show up.
Not cool. Not cool at all. Find somewhere else to have your party next year.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 11, 2024
Always have a good experience at the Pappadeaux food chains. No too busy on Saturday around 3:30 pm. The entree was a bit smaller than what I remember. They normal cover with gumbo or etouffee on top. Price wise is a big steep for a 10 oz grilled fish with veggies. A bowl of gumbo is $19.95. Again pretty steep but it was good! The ambiance was really nice. Servers are wonderful.

Why oh why did you do away with the Crab Cake appetizer. Honestly... it's one of things that brings me in regularly.
So disappointed.
Our server/bartender recommended the stuffed crab. It was fine.... But it's no crab cake. Please bring it back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 2, 2023Previous reviewAnother fabulous dining experience. Husband and I gave changed our eating in the last few months. Not eating as much. But quality still very important.
Ordered a bottle of wine... one Caesar salad and one house salad... and ......2 of the Crab Cake appetizers. Honestly... it's THE best ever. The crab cake is at least 8 oz. Huge.
We both had some left and brought it home.
We were honored to have Bri ( Brianna) take care of us. She was funny and attentive.... And knew exactly what we were trying to achieve. A great meal with out all the sides. Thank you.
And thanks to the management for getting that crab cake back on the menu.
Please... please keep it.Nov 7, 2022Previous reviewDecided to come back to Pappadeaux . It's been several years. Plus I work in Texas and see it everywhere.
Showed up on a Thursday night. Asked if we had reservations. Wasn't even a thought to make them.
Seated in the dining room at a table. It occurred to me there aren't any booths are any private tables. Everyone is kind of out in the open.
We were brought water. And then.... We waited. Our server showed up and we decided on Margaritas and the Crab Cake appetizer. Yes... it's $35 for 1 crab cake... so we were hoping it was great.
Then... we waited for literally 15 minutes. Thankful that we had bread. ( which is incredible).
Here comes our appetizer... and still no drinks. Gosh I hate that. Really. That's just bad timing and bad on the servers part.
We mentioned if and she said... oh... he's making them now. That's kind of unacceptable.
Back to the food. That Crab Cake is off the charts fabulous!!
After that huge appetizer... husband ordered the grouper topped with more crab and shrimp. I got the seafood gumbo.
Both really great!
Only disappointed would be.... Once the drinks arrived... they were mostly ice and gone in 4 sips. $17 for a drink. Honestly... that's price gouging. That to me is a big fail.
How about reasonable drink prices since the food is kind of high. - Apr 3, 2024
Stopped by here on a Friday night and had a great experience. I'm glad we made reservations as the restaurant was very busy and continued to stay busy all night. We were seated right away and had our server within a couple of minutes. Started off with the crispy alligator which was delicious and some gumbo that had just the right kick to it. Our main entrees were came out within a good amount of time (considering how busy it was) and tasted great. Definitely big portion sizes here. The restaurant itself is nice, maybe a little dark and can get slightly noisy when busy. In my opinion, the prices are a bit high for what you are getting. The portions are big and know seafood can be more expensive but for the bill to be around $150 for two people for 1 app, a soup, salad, and 2 entrees, seems a bit high.
