I'm a big fan of Palomilla's Grill House. I dine at this location quite frequently. Staff is friendly and helpful. Went again last night and Carol, our server, was great. The dining area is open with booths and tables, and they also have a bar area. My favorite though is their large patio out front. Love that their pet friendly too on the patio which makes us dine here all the more often. Carol even asked if we wanted some water for our pup and she brought out a water bowl for her.
The portions are generous and last night's food was on point. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We shared a sampler appetizer (it's huge) and ordered roast pork tacos and skirt steak. The steak was cooked so well and really liked the taste. The roasted pork was also braised well. Really appreciated how generous the tacos were filled. It's the worse when some other places will skimp out on the meat and toppings? It makes me want to taco 'bout it for awhile. :). I liked to top my taco with their yummy green sauce and light orange sauce. The sauces come with the sampler and the same green sauce comes with the skirt steak. Both of our entrees came rice and beans and the rice was cooked well and beans were good too. We've tried some of their other dishes and enjoyed them too in past visits. We have yet to try their dessert but will have to the next time we dine there.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 7884122643Nov 14, 2016
bought a groupon for this place as my parents were coming into town. It was also highly recommended by some Yelp friends...
We got there for a '630pm reservation', however, no reservation was really needed. The parking lot was nearly empty, and kind of made us all skeptical at first. But, since we had the groupon, we decided to proceed.
When we walked in, the decor was pretty nice. There were some table and booths, as well as a bar in the back. It was a nice little family cuban restaurant.
The wait staff was relatively quick with our drink orders, as was the food orders.
We ordered a dish of yellow plantains, side salad (for my dad), as well as our entrees of shredded beef w/ black rice (see picture), Chicken & Seafood Paella for 2, as well as a meat and onion dish.
The food was surprisingly good, however if you are not a person who likes salt, then you may need to reconsider. My family are not big salt people, so this food was a little too salty for us, but overall, the meal was quite tasty.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 8, 2017
We came here for dinner after finding a craving for Cuban food. We noticed there was a Groupon for it so we purchased that before coming.
The food was pretty mediocre to average. We ordered the yuca fries which were firmer than I've had at other places. For mains, we ordered the seafood paella for one, and a Cuban sandwich. The paella had a lot of seafood in it which was a good thing. The quantity was also large. However it disappointed me in its freshness. The speed at which it came out suggested it was probably precooked and just tossed together at the last minute. The Cuban sandwich tasted good.
Finally, a word of warning if you come with the Groupon - you do need to order two entrees, and the sandwich does not count as one.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 21215529470Jul 4, 2016
This was my first visit & I will definitely be back! First & foremost I have to say that when I randomly decide to try a new restaurant, there usually isn't a manager on the floor.
Frank, the owner, kindly introduced himself while I was taking pics for Yelp. Lol. I told him who I was & he proceeded to give me a full tour of the restaurant.
Most everything, including the tables were made by them! Wow. The workmanship is impeccable. I have to say that I was very impressed. Would the food leave a lasting impression as well?
I ordered the sea bass sandwich with a side of plantain. I can't help it. The Jamaican in me can't NOT order plantain.
The Sea bass was cooked to perfection & garnished with vidalia onions. That was the best combination in life. I'm also a fries connoisseur. You mess up the fries & you loose MAJOR points. The fries were PERFECTION! Not over cooked & lightly seasoned. Then the fry plantain. They were the best!
Overall, this place is definitely a great hangout spot accompanied by a full bar. Tell Frank ASH SAID IT sent ya!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 8, 2016
It's not easy to find a good Cuban place for eating and there aren't too many choice at that either.
Stumbled upon this place when looking for somewhere new to eat with the coworkers. It's not too bad. Feels authentic enough to not question it's identity.
The restaurant itself is decorated nicely with Cuban inspired designs. The place has ample amount of seating. You should be able to get seat without too much of a wait.
The menu has a few options to choose from. You can get anything from a rice dish to a good old fashion Cuban sandwich.
The staff is nice and they are helpful enough to most of your needs.
Overall, it's definitely a good lunch spot if you're craving some Cuban cuisine. Give it a shot if you're interested!

They lost me at "Cuban Tacos".... there is literally no such thing. As a Cuban, it's an offensive and disrespectful attempt to please locals by adding tacos to a Cuban menu. Listen, just cause people don't know Cuban food around here doesn't mean you spit on Cuban cuisine by selling "Cuban Tacos". Make them fall in love with Cuban food. It's easy. Cuban food is amazing!!! And unique among Latin culture!!
We dined in on a Saturday. The place was mostly empty. No music. No ambience. There were only 2 employees working the front of the house. The young lady who attended to us was kind of a mess. Nice girl, but slow and disorganized. Everything took forever. If you've ever been to an authentic Cuban place they're always alive, bustling with atmosphere and music, and the staff is always warm and lively. Not here. Very dry. Very quiet.
The food was a letdown. To be fair, what we ate tasted good, but it wasn't authentic Cuban food. Wasn't bad, but wasn't Cuban. We inquired to the nationality of the chefs and evidently they're Venezuelan. Venezuelans make great food, but not Cuban food. I thought this was a Cuban place.
I want them to succeed and will give them another chance. But please, be authentic and respect the cuisine. Good luck.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elizabeth P.Chula Vista, CA2613377Sep 5, 2018

I've enjoyed eating and drinking here a few times now and I consider myself a regular now. It's close to home and I love the ambience and the owner is so friendly ! I feel at home when I am here and I always enjoy a nice coconut mojito ( they have SO MANY flavors- but this is MY favorite). Truly authentic Cuban food and everything is delicious
