Padow's Hams & Deli

Really excellent for what it is. Straightforward, classic southern deli.

As the name implies, their specialty is ham and I generally can't avoid ordering the Country Ham Biscuits with a side of mustard potato salad. Very simple but the ham and biscuit are allowed to do the work and they don't disappoint.

The options in terms of meats, sandwiches, and sides are quite numerous. Those I've seen order other sandwiches haven't been disappointed.

Sometimes the place can get a bit crowded for lunch. They are generally quick enough that this isn't a big issue for receiving your order promptly but the parking available is somewhat limited given the Wild Greens Cafe next door and a number of other adjacent businesses.

This place is inexpensive. Sandwich, potato salad, chips, and drink were about $8.50.

Best Italian sub I've ever had. Every time I am in Charlottesville, I try to stop by Padow's to get an Italian.

Not sure I have had anything other than an Italian sub here, but whenever I'm there with other people, they enjoy their sandwiches, too.

I also like the casual atmosphere.
