Hidden Connections

We have used Hidden Connections twice over the past year -- once to hard wire our TV to our internet and once to install a new secondary TV, install new WiFi in the house, and relocate / reinstall our PS4 and Apple TV devices.

Both times we've worked with them went exceedingly well. Kevin showed up on time, worked quickly, and everything worked perfectly afterwards. And their rates are very reasonable. Can't ask for anything more.

It isn't often that you meet an experienced professional who is as thoughtful, considerate and skilled as Si (of Hidden Connections). One of the first things you will notice about him is that he is an excellent listener. He doesn't just hear you, then immediately try to sell you something you don't want, he actually listens without interruption, takes notes, then does his best to provide advice within the stated parameters of what you conveyed to him.

While sales people in a store or on the phone typically want to talk you into an expensive piece of equipment for their commission benefit, Si will actually tell you that you don't need to spend money on that piece of equipment if it doesn't fit within your stated needs. He will tell you that a less expensive piece of equipment will serve you well. As electronic equipment becomes increasingly complicated, it's good to know you can turn to Si to provide pragmatic and objective advice.

Si is also very organized and clean when he performs an expert installation. He labels all wiring for easy identification and cleans up after he completes his work. If you have questions, even after you've paid him, he actually responds and cares enough to address any concerns. He even goes above and beyond what is typically experienced nowadays: When I needed a new remote for an older amplifier/receiver and couldn't track one down online, I assumed I would have to make to do until Si suddenly emailed me and told me he found one online and it was being mailed to my house. I didn't ask him to do that, he just did it because he is a thoughtful person who cares about his clients.

Please note that I don't write reviews very often, typically only if a product and/or service is either excellent or very poor. In addition, I am a known to be a bit of perfectionist about things, and most of the time I find a product or service doesn't meet my expectations. In this case, the thoughtful service provided by Si has gone above and beyond.

Hidden Connection is an A+ company. We have worked with them for well over a decade and have always been very pleased with their work. The title says it all - they hide all of the wires and clean up after the install is complete. They are an A-Z company. They will come by and ask what you are looking for, put together a budget, purchase all of the components, install and connect everything, show you how everything works and clean up, so that it looks like they were never there. They are also excellent communicators throughout the process. There are no surprises. In a day and age where customer service continues to diminish, Hidden Connections stands apart!! When remodeling our home, we received quotes from two companies to install an integrated sound system and wall-mounted TVs. Both companies tried to sell us more advanced systems than we wanted or needed. They weren't listening to us describe what we were looking for. Our contractor then suggested we contact Hidden Connections. Si came to our home, listened to what we wanted, and recommended just the right system. Hidden Connections wired our home and did the installation very efficiently. The final, installed product is very pleasing aesthetically. The best part was how friendly and patient Si was when teaching us how to use the system, and the help he provided in finding our favorite sources for radio broadcasts and audiobooks.

I have had Si Lewis (Hidden Connections) install three TVs of various sizes in my house at different times. The TVs all were wall-counted with the power cords hidden within the walls and tied behind and into the nearest power outlets. One was even tied into the roof antenna through the attic and down the wall to the power. I am so pleased with the work that was done for all three installations. Hidden Connections does very professional work. Si is the owner and is professionally friendly, knowledgeable about all phases of the project, protects the project area with floor tarps, and cleans up the installation site when done. His prices have always been reasonable. He has met every appointment time and has always been prepared. The sound started malfunctioning on the new TV we had them install -- only a year old. A technician from the company did the install. Apparently he did not do it correctly because when Sy came out he said so. That didn't stop him from charging me for the visit. He just shrugged when I told him that his guy was the one that set it up!!

On to have a very good experience with The Geek Squad the next time I needed a TV installed.

Si and his team came in and did an incredible job mounting our TV to our brick fireplace. They also helped declutter our wiring and make our setup simple and clean. So glad we hired Hidden Connections to set this up because we would have for sure messed up the fireplace and had multiple holes. Price was fair and they were done within an hour. Awesome.

Yet again, HC has come to our rescue. It seems that every time we purchase a "SMART DEVICE" it's smarter than we are. Thank God for Hidden Connections to help us out each time without shame.

I can highly recommend Hidden Connections. They just completely replaced our old home theater system and did a great job. They came when they said they would and left our place cleaner than when they arrived. I thought their price was very fair and reasonable. I would use them again in a minute.

I bought a house with speakers built into all of the rooms, but didn't know if it was worth investing the system further. I sent a yelp message asking for a quote for a consultation and Si showed up the same afternoon to take a look for free. I am located in Alameda and it was a fairly straightforward question, but it was still very kind of him.

He looked at the huge jumble of wires coming out of the wall and started immediately explaining what he was looking at. At my request, he explained the different price ranges of what I could do with it. One of the things I said was that I wanted an opinion, should I invest in making the system usable or not? He was honest and said based on everything I explained that it probably wasn't worth it for me and my husband (we are not audiophiles and we don't prefer surround sound).

I'll echo was someone else said, Si was friendly, professional, and honest. I am very grateful for his expertise.

When I first moved to Alameda some 8 years ago, I contacted Si at Hidden Connections about mounting a small TV in our breakfast nook. He explained that it could be done and quoted me a very reasonable price. I knew it was a very small job for his company but he gave me the attention that a much larger job would have warranted. As it happens, I ended up not mounting the TV.

In early September 2021, I finally decided I couldn't stand the "mess" of wires/cables, etc. in our living room that fed into a TV sitting on top of a TV stand in front of our brick fireplace. Something HAD to be done. Of course I called Hidden Connections again after seeing a picture on Yelp showing how they had mounted a TV on a brick fireplace. With confidence I scheduled an appointment.

Si came out, again with the same care and professional interest in my small job as any larger ones they handle. He advised me on which brand and model of new TV to buy, where to get it at a good price (which I did). When I told him I had ordered a TV cabinet for the DVR/Direct TV gear, etc. and it turned out I couldn't put it together, he said they would handle it. He came on installation day with his daughter and while he mounted the TV, his daughter did an amazing job of putting together the TV cabinet. Both came out GREAT and we've been enjoying the new look in our living room ever since. Thanks, Si and Hidden Connections!
