I just started working with Carla at Outrageously Fit a few months ago, and I have to say I am really impressed. Carla is great - always upbeat and really caters to individual needs. I like to run to keep in shape, and she has helped me build muscles to stay away from injuries!
Carla gives the option of working out with small groups, which helps because it's a lower hourly rate.
The other trainers and classes there look great as well. I always look forward to the nights I get to go there!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susanna W.Cranston, RI17313346Jul 27, 2012
I'm a super nerd. Never played sports growing up. Always preferred to read. Never felt the need to run or get sweaty. Not particularly graceful or coordinated. My body is a vessel, not a temple. And then I hit my mid-30s and my metabolism suddenly isn't what it used to be. My stomach was no longer flat. I was getting a (gasp!) tummy. Call it a third-life-crisis. I decided to take action. I contacted Outrageously Fit through their website and they connected me with Sue. Sue & I talked on the phone about my goals (#1: strength & confidence; #2: fit into this killer dress without Spanx). At our first workout she did a basic assessment of my fitness (A: not good) and then worked through some exercises with me. "I get bored easily," she confessed-- this is a great quality in a trainer. Cardio, weights, Pilates, yoga, balance, conditioning, toning... She does it all with careful attention, gentle correction and lots of praise when I get things right. I'm finding that I'm a super achiever-- she says go four more minutes, I go five. She says do two more reps, I do four. She's supportive but she doesn't let me slack, even when my muscles are shaking and I'm schvitzing like I'm in a sauna. After just two sessions, I'm already understanding what it means to feel "strong". I'm standing up straighter, moving better. And I'm becoming friends with my body in a whole new way. I'm actually considering joining a gym so I can practice what we're working on between sessions. Sue helps me get the most from everything I'm doing-- and helps me do it better.
Sessions are totally affordable. The gym itself is no frills. Small, simple. People are there to work out with trainers. There are no hard bodies in this place. Least intimidating environment ever. No one is judging anyone. There are no TVs, no music, no fancy anything. Just equipment that works as hard as you will.
This super nerd won't be a super jock any time soon-- but I'm starting to get the appeal. And I'm walking my first 10K in a few weeks. Outrageously Fit is outrageously awesome.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Crystal D.Seattle, WA25237245Mar 11, 2013
I feel amazing after taking the "Self-Defense for Women" class with Jordan. I hadn't realized my strengths and the techniques that help enhance my abilities to ward of an attacker that is far large than I. The class is far superior than the typical self-defense class with cheesy moves that rquire much more thought to execute. Jordan taught us all types of moves in various scenarios including how to defend from the ground and how to get up properly while still defending yourself. I would highly, highly recommend that every takes his class. The knowledge that I left with make me feel even more confident in my ability to be a survivor and avoiding being a statistic. Thank you Jordan!!!

A few years ago I started working out with a friend's wife who had recently become a certified trainer. I loved the one-on-one workouts and being pushed to my limits, but I didn't like the hefty price tag each individual session carried, so I stopped working out with a personal trainer for a year or so, but missed it. Enter Outrageously Fit. I was conducting some on-line research and came across their site and saw that they offered "group" training options...it sounded intriguing so I emailed them and Carla (the owner) put me in touch with Tammy Peterson. I went to the studio and met with Tammy and have been a client ever since (I believe 3+ years now). The group sizes never exceed four people and each person receives their own individual workout for your 60 minute session. Tammy does a fantastic job customizing each workout to your needs and requests (like each fall she accommodates my request for some ski conditioning and right now she is helping me train for an upcoming event). Every workout is always different and each week I am learning a new exercise which is fantastic and allows me to do different things at my own gym. The studio is small with only 4 rooms, but it's usually never overcrowded with clients. Pros are knowledgeable staff, cons are the requests to be quiet when a massage is being conducted on-site...who doesn't like their music cranked when they are working out? Honestly, if you are looking to take your workouts to the next level or are simply looking to start working out or getting back in shape, give the trainers at Outrageously Fit a call...there's definitely something for everyone!

Thank you for the great review Amy! Very much appreciated. I want to mention that we no longer offer massage therapy at the studio so being quiet during massage sessions is no longer an issue.

My partner and I worked with Sue Bream for quite a while and loved working with her. She helped us get back on a solid footing and foundation. She always paid great attention to form and keeping things challenging and interesting. We would highly recommend working with SUE!!! She also was very helpful with a long standing really weak hamstring. She paid lots intention to it and was always working in exercises to strengthen it without over doing it. She paid careful attention. THANKS SUE!

I worked out with Carla twice a week for several months to help jump start my fitness this year. Carla is great to work out with. I am reasonably fit and athletic and have worked out with many trainers. Carla is one of the best. Her workouts are tailored to your needs. They were hard, varied and worked both strength and cardio. I would highly recommend her!
