Why Outback in Bakersfield you ask...the real question is where is Bakersfield on the map.
Had to go to the nuts and oil town of Bakersfield for work and decided to play it safe and eat a chain restaurant. I actually really enjoy the prime rib at Outback and am not ashamed to admit it...OK maybe a little shame is noticeable. But their prime rib is pretty good. I was very disappoint end to find out that they have substitute their rice pilaf for wild rice which was not good at all.
If you are a fan of french onion soup try Outback's it's surprisingly good.
Did you know that Bakersfield is a test market city for the West Coast? Kinda random right? Well, with that being said, the city is full of chain restaurants and Outback being one of them.
There aren't too many places that will serve dinner after 10 pm in Bakersfield, so if you want to sit and visit with friends or family, this is pretty much the only place besides a Denny's.
Outback has been consistently good every visit. We usually order up appetizers then split some dinners. I like that it's pretty chill and the wait staff doesn't take themselves too seriously. It's definitely a great place to catch up with friends without having to settle for Denny's.
Ahhh....The down under steakhouse. This particular outback was not what i expected after eating at the one in Singapore numerous times. From the start, waiting time was about 10 minutes from when we got there. Not bad but not good for a normal day. I usually only get one entry plate from outback and that is the bacon chedder fries. I can't get enough of that dish! I gave this outback 3 stars because the steaks weren't all that great and the dining tables were alittle snug. It just felt like the tables were touching my knees. On the plus side the bacon chedder fries and the deserts are always a given. Im sure i'll be visiting this restaurants again in the future.
Don't ask me how I ended up at an Outback Steakhouse in Bakersfield. This Outback, like any other, has okay steaks. The service was a little on the bad side. I gave this place two stars: one star for the yummy Thunder from Down Under dessert (Warm chocolate brownie with Vanilla Ice cream) and the other star for the delicious Honey Wheat Bushman Bread right out of the oven.
