Orinda Taxi

I've been using Orinda Taxi for years. Without exception, they've been reliable, friendly and accommodating. Will continue to use them as my primary taxi/car service for years to come.

Outstanding service! I was returning from a trip and texted Orinda Taxi first thing in the morning. Sam got back to me in 10 minutes, got my flight info and said he would be there. No worries at all, picked me up when I landed and got me back swiftly and safely. Fair price too! I recommend them!!

Unreliable! Texts at last minute to say he thought reservation was for different day! Almost missed my flight

Worst Taxi Service ever! We were on our way to SFO airport for a family emergency (already stressed and booked last minute tickets) and the BART broke down at Orinda station. Rather than risk being late/missing our flight, we decided to take a taxi outside the station. We got the WORST luck with cabbie Rommel and his first day on the job. We said SFO airport and he asked us if we had an address.

So, not only did he not know how to get to the airport, he also could not navigate on his own with GPS. I had to pull up Google Maps on my phone and give him step by step instructions (including which lane to be in) to get us to the airport.

Once we got there he asked if we had cash - the cost was $90 something with the toll. We did not have that much cash on us so he proceeded to pull out a carbon copy credit card form. He took 15 minutes to fill out all the information and wanted us to sign a receipt without an amount on it. No way, man, no way!

Riding with this taxi service makes me ONLY want to use UBER from now on. What a terrible experience and added stress on top of an already stressful situation. Definitely WILL NOT USE this service ever again.

Will not pick up for rides they do not like, like going from home to BART. Pretty sure they screen calls with caller ID so that they don't even answer calls from people who had previously requested what they consider undesirable trips.

Realizing that sometimes my trips were shorter than they preferred I always tipped very well. And on occassions I would change my mind and have driver take me all the way to airport. Orinda Taxi has lost me as a customer and I recommend everyone stay away from this company because of poor community support and bad business practices.

Driver was on time, didn't make me sick with his driving (I am prone to carsickness and didn't take my Dramamine), and the price was reasonable. Pretty efficient way to get to the airport. No complaints.

I called for a pickup at Peet's Coffee Orinda today, Tuesday May 28, 2019 at 6:30pm. The driver confirmed the pickup location at Peet's Coffee and even confirmed the destination address for drop-off.

After waiting almost 40 minutes NO SHOW.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ORINDA TAXI FOR YOUR LOCAL TRIPS.

Orinda taxi is my go to for pickups at Bart. They will be a couple dollars more expensive, but they beat the attitude of many uber or lyft driver's picking me up in the area.

Pluses: Readily available. Available pickup appointments. Friendly driver's.

Negatives: Old cars. Sometimes interiors are not clean. Obviously a little more expensive than ride sharing.

I recommend using them from Bart. It's worth it to me, and I'm glad they're there.

I used to use Orinda Taxi all the time to go the airport with very little issue.

Today I was picked up by the rudest guy. Came out at 11:04am for an 11am pickup and dropped off my luggage and wanted to go back inside to say goodbye to my two year old daughter. He told me he has been waiting "forever" and that it wasn't okay for me to go back in and say goodbye to my daughter. Are you kidding me? I've never EVER had a taxi company rush me for an incredibly expensive airport trip, especially when I use the company at least twice a month. Rushing someone who is trying to leave town and leave a small daughter is despicable. If you want to add a wait time fee, go ahead, but don't be rude and awful. I usually tip 20-25% and always tip more if I was running behind, but that won't be happening today. You reap what you sow.

I called the company and they told me they were sorry and to please take my time. Apparently that was an insincere sentiment. As we headed down moraga Way, he picked up his phone and texted WHILE DRIVING. I noted he was texting with the dispatcher. He said he was still waiting (he was not, we were going down the road) and they responded "OMG!" First, we were not waiting... Second, you are text complaining about someone that is about to pay you over $100 for a ride to the airport? I really question management on that one.

Despicable behavior from driver and dispatcher this morning. I will be taking Moraga Taxi or Taxi Bleu from now on.

Two stars because I have had drivers that were fantastic in the past.

Called to see how much it would be to go from an address in Lafayette to another address in Lafayette. He stated that they "do not go from a Lafayette address to another Lafayette address". I was told to call Walnut Creek taxi!!
