What kind of music do they play on nights that they don't have live DJs?

Saturday's are international nights. So they change weekly. Indian,Asian,Latin etc not too many hip hop nights anymore. And if they do I believe it's Wednesday's but a younger crowd

Opera Winfrey actually owns this place.
If you want to see a lot of very good looking people wearing hardly any clothes then this is the place for you. Not far from all the gay clubs as well so if you aren't sure which way you feel like going for the evening then you have the best of both worlds within a few blocks.
Actually the most famous club in the ATL. Massive and with large numbers of people.
Did you know that Van Helden, Van Dyk, and Van Tiesto have all done their thing here? As well as Pauly D. Oh wait.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Feb 6, 2019
Stopped by Opera Super Bowl weekend for the Rick Ross event. If you're not familiar with the crescent street staple, it is a large two story venue that plays primarily hip-hop and top 40s and generally caters to an under 30 crowd. With promotions online and early entry most folks can get in free. However on a busy night or after 11 you can be standing in line for up to an hour!
VIP or Bottle service is also a mess. If you're getting a table for something I'd advise going elsewhere. Even though I had a table I still had to wait nearly 40 minutes in the VIP line. VIP in name only! Women and men alike definitely hopped in and out of line without a table or paying VIP. I even walked in after my party arrived no ID check no nothing. Utter chaos. Tables are $300-1000$ depending on size of your group and there was a 3 bottle minimum. Also be intentional on where you want to sit even if you make a reservation they can switch you to their outside spot away from the action and DJ. Fortunately I had low expectations and the music was good so all was well but just want to let folks know you're better off going in regular admission.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 26, 2018
I had an ok time at this venue. The club seems to run fairly well the bathrooms at the entrance and in the VIP area didn't seem too dirty (something I always look at for each club). The bartenders are fast at making drinks and seem friendly enough. Venue is a little small but it has 2 upper level floors and private cabanas as well on one of the floors.
What stood out to me here was while we were waiting to get in I overheard one of the ID checker fellows make a misogynist comment to the VIP hostess about how she just needs to stand there and look pretty. Even if that was a joke, I felt like I wanted to slap him for her though she seemed to take it pretty well. It's 2018 - girls shouldn't have to brush off belittling comments like that anymore. *eye roll*Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 21215529470Jan 23, 2016
This is one of my favorite upscale spots in midtown! I was invited to the Atlanta Wine Party & was so excited to attend! There were so many wines to try & the DJs kept the party going!
I was hungry so I got the Texas fries. Either I was hella famished or those were the best potato fries I've had in some time! So yummy! And it was piping hot! Good look Opera!
Overall this experience was amazing! I will be back yet again opera!!!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Business owner information

My two girlfriends and I were visiting ATL from New York came here on a Saturday night and the music and crowd was terrible. My friend picked this place because she use to frequent it when she lived in ATL a few years ago so thought it would be close to what we are use to in NYC. I don't know if Saturday is the best night to come but this place was terrible! Obviously, there are very few places that compare to NYC clubs, but this place was terrible. First off the cover was $20 when we arrived there at 1:40 (it closes around 3AM) and it was only a 25% full. The DJ that night was Rothzi D and he was terrible. He barely played any top 100 and seemed like he didn't know how to properly mix songs.
We stayed here for 30 minutes to give it a chance, but soon realized that it wasn't going to get better and promptly left. This place was a waste of time and money!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Celia S.Boulder, CO24010Dec 4, 2018
Very unprofessional club, especially considering it used to be nearly the only place for EDM shows. (Now there's District and even shows at Buckhead Theater). Last time we went they had closed the balcony/VIP area but didn't care to alert us during entry and after emailing about this the next day they would not give refund for ticket claiming a free drink and skip the line was offered instead for VIP. Well that would've been nice to know when we were actually there. Last time I was there I saw a man barefoot next to me where he explained security took his shoes because flip flops were not allowed due to the dress code. Yes, flip flops are a horrible fashion statement, but you really just let a man into a nightclub without any shoes? How is that any better than wearing sandals? Very rude staff otherwise. Can see District taking all their shows in the future.

One of the worst experiences ever. One of their bartenders was probably the only professional I encountered at Opera. The rest of the staff, including the servers, and especially the folks at the door and the bouncers, are extremely rude and unprofessional, not to mention racist. I mean, I get the fact that it's a grunt-level job for which you probably hire from the lower half of the market, but I was still appalled at how we were treated by the staff at Opera.
Take my advice, unless this kind of humiliation is your thing, you're better off spending your money elsewhere.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Apr 14, 2016
Ugh.
That's the first word that comes to mind when someone suggests a night out at Opera.
I'm not a fan. But somehow, I've been here several times, even though I'm not a fan. Everytime I end up here, I just don't have a good time. I pay cover charge to get in after waiting in a long line, the music is loud and obnoxious and the people there aren't any better.
My friend's birthday was up and she was asking around who would want to split a table with her. It was EDM night so it was pretty low key. They seated us at the smallest possible table for 10 people, it was ridiculous. After some complaining, they were able to move us to an open box for the same price, due to mix up's in reserving the table the week prior. The view of the stage was great and the bottle service was nice to have.
I hate Opera when I have to attend as the typical plebeian, but when living the VIP life, it's not all that bad.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

Tiff, thank you so much for your review; we appreciate that you have taken the time to share your experience with others. We apologize that your time with us has been subpar. Cover charges and long lines are common at popular nightclubs; if you'd like to save money and time with us Tiff we encourage you to try purchasing tickets online in advance. This will allow you to receive discounts and 21+ VIP tickets will significantly reduce the wait time. Earlier this year we had installed our Pure Groove sound system to provide the best possible audio experience for our guests; we're sorry that it was not to your liking. We will take your feedback about security into consideration; we are dedicated to providing a safe environment for all of our guests, so we will hold our security to higher standards and run a much tighter ship. As for the table mix-up, that is 100% on us and we sincerely apologize for dropping the ball Tiff. Again we thank you very much for your review and we hope that you will give us another try in the near future

Why, Opera? You were the one they said would bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness! You are so close to me, and you attract the top EDM performers who come through Atlanta! But your management.... your management is letting you down.
I really like the performers at Opera. The line moves pretty quickly outside. However, management NEEDS to limit the number of people who can come in on any given night. When I've been to both a ticketed and a non-ticketed event, it's been so crowded both times that I felt suffocated. Like, can't-leave-the-dance-floor-even-if-you-want-to because there are so many bodies. That has to stop.
The bartenders here are SUPER surly and the drinks are way overpriced, which also needs to change. Opera does have an awesome stage, though, some fun elevated poles in the middle of the dance floor by which to dance, and the crowd is very vibrant. The event photographers are also very nice when I've been there, which I appreciate. The management just needs to take action, stop overselling, and repair this place's reputation.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Daryl T.Alpharetta, GA2384011Jan 1, 2018
This place is horrible. Visited for New Years Eve. The buffet was advertised as "gourmet". It should have been advertised as "pig slop" . They ran out of several dishes early and nowhere did it say the buffet was only being served for 1 1/2 hours until you got there.
Was told in advance we would not have to wait in the 20 degree weather outside due to fact they knew people would be uncomfortable , especially women in their New Years' attire. After sending us into three different lines because they weren't trained which lines were which for different ticket holders.
They try desperately to create a class separation between general admission and VIP but once inside, everyone from the bartenders to the bouncers to the bathroom attendants treat everyone like shit expecting tips.
They hired off duty Atlanta police officers with no sensitivity or crowd control training and they were being rude to everyone.
They lost my girlfriend's coat in the coat check and rudely wouldn't find it.
When I mentioned it to a bouncer who asked what the problem was, he told me that my insistence for them to help find it was "pissing him off". The bouncers are rude meat heads.
The crowd is like a frat party and many people didn't dress up for NYE. That told me all I needed to know about the class of clientele that visits this place.
They charge extra if you use a credit card for drinks. I thought that was illegal. Good for them to turn it into a cash business so they avoid taxes.
Access was blocked to 80% of the Club rooms and hallways creating unnecessary crowding. Not sure what the occupancy is allowed here, but they exceeded all limits creating fire hazards.
Bottom line, they just want your money and repeat business. I'm staying away like the plague.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
