Oh, we miss O.P.! GREAT beer, full bar, excellent service and yummy food! We would frequent OP at least once a month since they opened. So sad to see them close. We tried our best to support their business during covid.

Funny thing about this brewery is as a kid I NEVER knew it was a brewery... my parents kept us on the other side where it just seemed like a restaurant. Sneaky! This one was fun to take Ben to since I grew up going there for their yummy food! In college, I was there for their St. Patty's Day festivities that my parents failed to hide me from at that point!! But that is a whole other story and life. :)

Going to Olde P is a win on both food and the brewery. This is it was just the brewery for Ben.

Fist off it was a busy day in Kzoo but felt safe and distanced from other tables.
      The appetizers were incredible!
Bacon Sprouts skewers with Bacon Jam and Tempura Cheese Curds sounds as good as they sound!
The Olive Burger was good. The Olive aioli was a nice touch. The only meh was wanted olives on the burger not just tiny bits in aioli.
      The beer- FLAVOR punched!
We also tried some beverages and SO delicious!
Definitely one of our top choices when in Kalamazoo

Hat tip to Tai P for letting us know about the Tuesday half off burgers deal! WOOHOO!! So before you read further, I'll wait for you to calendar next Tues to eat there...

      Ok. I did, too.

We hadn't been before...I'm never sure about a brewpub for people that don't drink. But the food was delicious and SUCH a deal!

My husband and I each got burgers (of course). The server was quite attentive to his allergy to cheese (thank you!). Ed substituted onion rings for the fries, and it was no problem (and NO upcharge!). We had to wait a while for the burgers to emerge, but Ed devoured his fried pickles. They were delicious, he said, and were the spear kind, not the circle kind. I guess this matters to fried pickle aficionados?

      Here's THE BEST PART:

      wait for it...

      HOMEMADE RANCH.

      Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, YES!!!

It was delicious with my fries. It was delicious with my burger. And it was delicious on my fork. HA.

The burgers were tasty, perfectly done, and juicy. I'd go back again in a heartbeat for this burger goodness.

I was especially grateful to our server and the kitchen for boxing up half my burger, half the fries, and a WHOLE container of ranch, so that I could bring dinner to our daughter, who was at pottery class at the KIA. This was excellent customer service.

The four stars instead of five are because our server took a while to bring our check, and then took a while to adjust it. I think it doubled our time in the restaurant? That said, when he was on it, he was ON it and very kind and helpful. Maybe they don't have enough waitstaff?

      See you next Tuesday!

Olive burger, no cheese, onions rings!

I ordered a green-fed burger, it's a beef burger with mac & cheese .. It is soo goood !! I will not get enough of it ! And they have 50% off burgers, which made it for almost $8

Relaxing environment, and so friendly staff !
Specially Keegan,he made sure that we leave the restaurant with a happy tummy and a happy attitude !

      Totally worth it !

      Update :
When you come to the restaurant and it is crowded, don't expect anything good .. The food will be very late and mostly burned up.

If you wanna have a good experience, go in weekdays around 3-4 P.M.

Friendly staff! Delicious food! Awesome place.
I ordered Oliv burger which is a burger with black and green olive sauce. The sauce is creamy and has balanced tastes. I loved it!
The burger is well made and delicious. Portions are the right size to fill hungry stomach. I replaced the beer fries with sweet potato fries. It was good choice. The Staff are great guys! They are smiling and welcoming. Special thanks to Keegan who served our table with big smile. He is super friendly and very accurate. He made sure that nothing contained alcohol in our dishes as we order. I would definitely come to here again. Specifically since they have Tuesday's 50% off burgers offer.

Very friendly staff (Alexis, our server was outstanding), decent menu and craft brew offerings. The place is a staple of town and have a good set of offerings including burger specials on Tuesdays.

To top it off, great dog-friendly outdoor seating to reminisce of yesteryears outside their historic building within prime location for Bates Alley, Michigan Ave and the Kalamazoo Mall. Don't miss it on the warmer days or as a stopping point on your downtown bike rides or strolls.

Had a nice meal. The brussel sprouts and bacon on a stick was pretty good. The Cobb salad was large and what I expected. The chicken dish I had was only ok. The chicken was small, overcooked (but not dry), a little sweet and could have used a bump up in flavor; the broccoli was steamed and bland; while the rice was salted nicely but did really have much else going on, kinda tasted like it came from a packet. Next time I am here I will just stick with the sandwiches and burgers.

The spicy beer made from the pineapple ale was outstanding. Starts off fruity then finishes with a wave of heat. Very good.

      Wonderful service.

Hi Robert, we are happy to hear you were satisfied with the beer, Cobb salad and service! However, we are disappointed that the chicken, broccoli and rice was not up to your standards. We hope you try us again!

The quality of the food is horrible because they didn't know how to work with a dinner rush. It took an hour plus to get our food and the burgers were quite burned. I was afraid that was going to happen since some restaurants aren't good with keeping up with their quality of food when there's a large quantity.

I subbed onion rings instead of fries and it was horrible. The grease was really bad. Grease on the onion rings and the bread was just off the charts.

The waiter was really nice and hopefully, we will get him again next time we try this place again. They should change the oil on the fryers and use healthier and lighter butter on the bread.

We visited this place later at night-about 1030 on a Wednesday. It was busy with a euchre group playing in the back and the bar was mostly full.

We grabbed a table and the server was fast. Too fast. He moved so quick he didn't take the time to answer our questions. It seemed like he assumed he knew what we were trying to ask and gave an answer having nothing to do with our question and was gone putting our order in without us actually making the choice. "We were thinking about the trash can fries. Are they big enough for 2 to snack on" and his response was along the lines of, "trash can fries and a spare plate to share."
This happened a few times asking or talking about different things, so I can't give him the benefit of the doubt.

The beer was good and the trash can fries were good too.

When the bill came, the happy hour discounts weren't entered in correctly. I tried to mention something but he had already taken off and was taking someone else's order so I just gave up.

I would probably visit again but it wouldn't be my first choice. And I'd sit at the bar or a higher table. Honestly I talk pretty low and the server was pretty tall so maybe I was just too low to really project my voice.
