Yes we are open from 5pm to 11pm tonight. Bar seating is first-come-first serve and we have a large bar area. We can make Irish coffee with foamed milk!

The most welcoming restaurant with the best staff! I've been a customer for years and have had some of my favorite moments sitting at the bar. Mitch and Savannah were always the sweetest people.
The food and drinks have always been delicious. And the service constantly exceeded my expectations. I'm so sad Old Vine is closing! It'll always hold a special place in my heart.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Jorge L.Fullerton, CA1709319Feb 2, 2024
When I heard the restaurant was closing soon, curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to visit despite a nagging feeling that it might not be a great idea. Despite my reservations, I thought it would be worth experiencing it before it shut its doors for good. Unfortunately, this decision led to one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had.The meal started somewhat promisingly with a soup that was actually quite delicious, though the absence of bread was a minor letdown. The main courses, however, were where things really went downhill. My scallops were so overly salted that they were nearly impossible to enjoy, while my wife's lasagna, which came with a white sauce, was disappointingly soggy, resembling wet crackers more than a well-layered pasta dish.In hindsight, the visit was an expensive misstep, failing to live up to the expectations set by its price tag and leaving us regretting the decision to dine there.
Update:
Dear Mark M,
I wanted to address the concerns you raised in response to my review. Firstly, my reservation was adjusted only once, and that was due to unforeseen circumstances. Upon our arrival, it was clear the restaurant was not near capacity; the waiter didn't even check if we had a reservation.
Regarding the meal, you are correct that I did not voice my dissatisfaction with the scallops at the time. I chose to consume them and focus on spending time with my wife. Besides, I wasn't going to ask for something else to be prepared; I had a feeling that wouldn't have gone well. Similarly, my wife's preference for a different sauce does not negate the fact that her dish was not good; it really did have the consistency of soggy crackers and was also overly salty.
And we were never rude to anyone at any point, that is just not true.
I think your response to customer feedback is indicative of your restaurant's current mindset, which is "... we're closing so it doesn't matter anymore." because everything I experienced that evening told me just that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Rudolph B.Garden Grove, CA1167Feb 2, 2024
Me and the Mrs. ate here tonight and I cannot think or speak about anything without reveling in the memory of their Blue-cheese Cheesecake with graham cracker crust, honey drizzle and pistachio dust.
I took the first bite and the
Manager/Sommelier must have seen the euphoric bliss in my slow consuming chews. Before I could finish the savoring first bite she asked how it was and in my must professional verbiage said, "fucking delicious"! Less than a minute later she brought us a complimentary paired dessert wine. And as much as I wanted to remember her description of this fabulous wine, all I could think about was my next bite.
"Good stuff, Maynard"!!!
Thank you...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 6, 2024Updated review
I'm guessing they have a new chef. Dinner wasn't as good tonight as it was a few years ago. Also somehow my old review of dinner has disappeared even though my old pictures of dinner remain. Note to self, here are the names of my old pictures of dinner which can be searched for and descriptions read... Bread Trio; Mixed Green Salad; Gnocchi; Halibut; Beef Stroganoff; Grandma's Cheesecake; Homemade Caramel Corn. Many of those items are no longer offered. I confirmed with the server that their menu changes several times per year.
Tonight we had...
The soup of the day, Cream of Cauliflower and Truffle. It was good.
OV Salad with mixed greens, tomatoes, olives, and a few other things. It was not that great. Perhaps the vinaigrette was the problem. The whole dish was rather tarty.
Beef Stroganoff. The sauce was incredibly watery as though they didn't drain the pasta. That kind of ruined the dish for me.
Lasagna with a Truffle Bechamel sauce. It had a great flavor but was overall somewhat mushy.
The menu overall was rather limited. Nothing grabbed our attention and nothing wowed us.
It was surprising that the whole restaurant was rather empty on a Saturday night. Will it survive?Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Simon,
The chef, founder, and proprietor has remained the same for the seventeen years Old Vine has been a small business. We are sorry that the Stroganoff was not what you remembered, but the recipe has not changed in 15 years, as this is a popular dish. As we are sure that you already know, given your elite status, Alaska's halibut season is Spring and Summer.
The restaurant industry is one of the most challenging industries. Most don't last five years. Will we last? I am not sure in this difficult economic landscape, but even an insinuation like that is what is wrong with the Yelp platform.
Thanks for dining with us. We are glad that your first two of three experiences were stellar.Aug 22, 2021Previous reviewExcellent Sunday Brunch! They have several prix fixe options to choose from for breakfast.
"The Original" prix fixe - the salad had a nice vinaigrette and minced olives as a finishing touch. The biscuit with egg and queso was nice but I didn't care for the chipotle essence to it.
"The Comfort" prix fixe - the breaded tomato was great, however it might have been better if it was thinner. The biscuit with white gravy was great but a bit salty. The savory French Toast was good with diced meats and melted cheese pressed into the bread almost like it was baked in.
"The Sweet" prix fixe - the strawberry spinach salad was nice. The caramel apple French Toast was great with diced apples baked in and a homemade caramel sauce.
The Cinnamon roll made for a perfect starter, nice and moist throughout.
The Lavaza coffee was nice and bold and came with a cute little sweet biscuit on the teaspoon.
Reservations accepted and recommended. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.Apr 1, 2021Previous reviewHigh end gourmet food with prices to match. They specialize in wine pairings with each dish, however you can order a glass or bottle on it's own.
The Zoe wine is a great blend of Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc.
The bread trio is a great starter that comes with a tomato cheese focaccia, a molasses bun, and a cheese bun. I wish all three items could be the cheese bun only because it's so good.
The gnocchi is interesting and wonderful. I feel it should be thought of more as and appetizer to share. It is actually fried gnocchi on a bed of rich cheese fondue.
The beef stroganoff is excellent with homemade noodles, tender cubes of filet mignon, and mushrooms in a nice creamy beef demi-glace sauce.
The fish of the day was halibut on a bed of flavorful sauteed wild mushrooms, pea puree, and an amazing cream sauce. If the side of mushrooms is anything like these mushrooms then I definitely recommend ordering the side mushrooms with any entree.
The grandma's cheesecake was fine but didn't amaze.
The caramel corn was amazing. Popcorn tossed in homemade buttery caramel. I ordered a bag to take home. In fact I plan on stopping by again in the future only to grab another bag of caramel corn to go, it's so addictive.
The rooftop is awesome. They are able to pull shades all the way across the roof to block the sun or elements. Then as the sun sets they can retract the shade completely so you can see the sky.
Huge selection of wine and you can even buy a six pack of wine to go. - Feb 2, 2024
It is with a great sadness in my heart that I have to say the Old Vine Kitchen and Bar has announced it is closing after 17 years in business.
When we heard the news, my family just knew that we had to jump in and go again as this place has been in our rotation for many years. So many great memories over such a long time period. It's hard to convey to someone when a place like this leaves a mark on you like Old Vine has. The food has always been top-notch spot-on, the cocktail and wine pairings have been spectacular, and the service impeccable. Everyone in the restaurant has a true, vested interest in making this a truly wonderful dining experience for every single patron. Small details that some may not ever know unless they were told or inquired. The menu covers were all individually hand painted by a well-known local artist as well as the wall paintings. Food being sourced locally, every day, from places that specialize. Their baker is/was a Master Baker from Jordan that made everything fresh in-house. A lot of times a wine would be opened and tasted by Chef Mark and Sommelier Kate. Then crazy brainstorming happens to come up with a gourmet dish that can represent that wine in the best way possible. How much fun to have a drink of wine in a pairing, talk among the table about it, taste the food, drink the wine again after the food taste and seeing how it matched or changed the flavor profile based upon the bite. Truly an experience that is curated by experts.
So, we just went for their last Community Dinner service. Again, what a great experience. It was a Prix Fixe menu, 5 courses with pairings. Please see my photos attached here.
If you can, please go at least once before they close as it will be a great loss to the community when it is gone.
My soul feels a little darker knowing that they are closing, but we will follow and see what adventure is up next for Chef Mark and Sommelier Kate and gladly follow with our hearts, our wallets and our stomachs. We know that whatever adventure they do next, it will be worth the wait and the effort. They have all of our love and support behind them in whatever they do. Best of luck.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Oct 23, 2023
I am reviewing The Original Tasting Menu since when I looked no one had in years! Everything was SO so so good. Dish after dish -- it just kept getting better and better. Everything came out hot and so tasty. We had to sub the scallops that typically come with the Tasting Menu with salads but other than that everything was amazing!
Filet was perfectly cooked. It's unusually hard to get a good medium steak for some reason, but Old Vine did it perfectly!
Always down to try something unique and interesting but the blue cheese cheesecake seemed like something you would either love or hate. I happen to be a blue cheese girly so of course it was a no brainer! It happened to be super delicious and a perfect balance of sweet and the slightest hint of blue cheese. Highly recommend!!
Nicole, our server, was super kind and helped explain all the menu items!
It was a cute spot for date night! Highly recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 28, 2023
The one thing that drew my friends and I to this location was the roof bar which we spotted while driving by. As we made our way in, we were told that portion of their bar was only open on Friday's and Saturday's. After hearing that, we made our way to their indoor bar on the first floor. Carissa was the bartender taking care of us and she was very sweet during our time there.
I decided to order an Aperol Spritz which was my first time trying it and it was so good! My friend got a peach flavored drink, and my other friend got an espresso martini. All three of us were impressed by how great each drink tasted. We were going to eat here but my friends were stuck on the idea of trying the pizza place next door. We agreed to return to try their food when we come back to visit their weekend bar! After adding our names to the pizza place, we ordered another aperol spritz to share as we waited. Overall a fun spot to sip a few drinks with your friends or family!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Feb 22, 2023
First time here! Walked in and was welcomed by two beautiful servers. My friend made a reservation to celebrate my birthday not many people were at the restaurant and that made it more cozy and comfortable. The food was really good overall. It came out as we expected and desired. The birthday cheesecake was delicious! Everyone was so nice and kind. I will come back again! There is plenty of parking!

Very enjoyable. Didn't realize the rooftop was only open on the weekends. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was reasonably good, but not exceptional. The cocktails were top notch. Worth checking out, although parking can be a bit rough.
