About the Business
We offer the most diverse raw bar in the city, with a large, rotating selection of cold water oysters, shrimp cocktail and littleneck clams, as well as a variety of local fish, such as hake, skate and cod. Our Executive Chef works directly with our local fish purveyor to source the highest quality ingredients. Not in the mood for seafood? We always offer multiple non-seafood options to accommodate all guests.

A great place to hold a company party! We had 25+/- people and they had worked with us to have a set menu. There were the two appetizers, choice of two starters and three choices for the entree. Justin, the manager, was amazing and he helped manage the drink tickets. We didn't realize it until later that they closed the restaurant which made sense.
Our appetizers were shrimp cocktail and Italian bruschetta; we had a choice of caesar salad or clam chowder; the choice of entrees were chicken marsala, grilled salmon or steak all with fingering potatoes and green beans. Dessert was a flourless chocolate torte. I had the salmon and it was delicious!
The food and service were top notch! We will definitely be back!
I plan to go back to try the raw bar.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 11, 2024
Had not been in many years and unfortunately not missing anything. Looks the same as it did 20 years ago, in need of updating. My cocktail that was supposed to have a splash of seltzer was mostly seltzer. The clam chowder was pretty tasty but a little potato heavy and came out lukewarm. A three scallop appetizer was creative and cooked well but they were very small for the price and slightly bland. The Ahi tuna nachos were an interesting idea but the chips were slightly stale and while the sauce was tasty in moderation unfortunately some chips were drenched and others were barren. The tuna was a good quality but not much of it. Anyway the experience kind of made me feel old and sad, seeing a once vibrant restaurant and oyster bar more than half empty on a Friday night, and for good reason. Such a wonderful spot, now seems like a waste of prime space.

Old port sea grill has plenty of tables to sit. No reservation needed (at least for weekday). I went there for dinner on Tuesday evening. I liked the ambiance.
Staff were very friendly and quick.
I ordered New England Clam Chowder (bowl). It was really good. Definitely recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aubrey Y.Salt Lake City, UT035Apr 27, 2024
The lobster roll was so delicious. Huge chunks of lobster and the bread was toasted and great. Service was awesome (I sat on the barside) and the overall atmosphere inside the place was nice. I had the lobster roll with fingerling potatoes, great choice. lobster price is MP so the day I went this was a bit on the pricier side ($39). Since I've never been to Maine or had a lobster roll before I was OK with splurging. But definitely be sure to ask what the MP is for lobster that day so you aren't surprised! Would go back. :)

On my 82 nd birthday- lunch-
Had a horrible experience with raw oysters in Seattle, so had to "get back on the horse" so to say.
Had a dozen here- fresh, delicious, exquisite-
However, my wife's scallops risotto stole the show- absolutely the gem of the meal.
Service was excellent and the corner table by the windows , a gift.
One caveat: the "parking by plate" around the corner, run by the city and not by the restaurant, was $47 for two hours.
Portland should be ashamed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I am so happy you came back to give us another chance to impress you, and I am even more thrilled that you had a wonderful experience. We will always do our best to give you the best value and show you a great time. Thank you so much!
Mar 10, 2023Previous reviewGave this another try- three of us, a fine experience:
- the service: quick, courteous, efficient
- the food - three Caesar's well made, copious; the 'small' seafood medley- nothing small about this- six fresh jumbo shrimp, six fresh Norumbaga oysters that seemed just off the wharf across the street, which they are, six Bang Island mussels with horseradish-cocktail sauce, and a very well made mignonette- there is plenty here for lunch even without the Caesar.
The blood orange sorbet rivals any I have had at Fore Street Restaurant.
A five star experience.Nov 25, 2022Previous reviewBlack Friday 2022:
On Weds this week by phone call, I made reservations for eight for this pm at 6:15. After receiving two confirmations of this from RESYS, I received an email that our reservations had been cancelled.
The email said I could call or respond by email if I had questions.
Doing so by email, and by phone multiple times yielded no response.
Eight of us - kids and grandkids visiting for the holidays- left high and dry.
We will have leftovers today, and I will never frequent this restaurant again, though I have done so many times in the past. - Mike P.Pawtucket, RI21228142Oct 15, 2023
If it were possible to give a 5 star PLUS, I would definitely give it to 'The Old Port Sea Grille & Raw Bar'.
The chef has enticing items on the menu that you're not going to find elsewhere. We started with the tuna nachos & they were fantastic. I don't even like seafood, but I'd eat these again & again.
The drinks were perfectly made by the bartender. Again, unique twists on classic martinis, old fashioneds, etc. I had the Fall Fashion & another friend had the Earl Grey martini.
Main courses- top notch! My steak frites was superb! It just melted in my mouth. My friend's fish & chips was fantastic. And another friend's bolognese was superb.
So what made this the best experience? Justin the manager & Roza our server. Justin immediately built a great rapport with the table. It's like we had known him forever. He even wrote down some other places to visit to really experience the area. Totally, a smart, funny & adorable guy.
Roza was not only charming and phenomenal at her job, turns out she was originally from where we grew up as well. Again, just built a great rapport with the table.
So when you stop in, make sure you Roza's your server & you get to chat with Justin. Thanks for an extraordinary evening. We live a few hours away but we will be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 6, 2023
Amazing service for our group of 6! We had lobster rolls, chowder, the chicken sandwich, brussels sprouts, shrimp, truffle fries and the chocolate torte dessert.
The lobster rolls were $37 as of March 2023. Not the best I've had but it was good. The chowder was delicious, super creamy! The stand out was actually the fried chicken sandwich & brussel sprouts which I found to be kinda funny. We chose this restaurant for the seafood but the chicken was to die for??! Anyways, the restaurant is a good choice for a group. I'd come back for the chicken and get a lobster roll elsewhere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Right on commercial street, in a great location. Lots of seating for the old port with a huge bar. I just never think to come here because it is quiet pricey but the food is good. I had a scallop dish last time I was there and it was really great. The oysters were fresh. I will have to come back and try more things to give another review.
