Totally enjoyed today's visit to the museum. Did, pay parking lot, due to parking for Wicked show.
Lots of people in line for tickets but since I did our free tickets on line, we got to immediately check in at a separate place.
Love the idea for special free Sundays! Even if you pay it would be worth it.
We loved the first floor that's full of just gorgeous glass art. I was in aw of the imagination seen here. Took a few pictures.....OK alot of pictures. My favorite was the boat full of glass items.
Some families had children and had them on strict attention. They have back tape on floor showing where to stay behind. I would be nervous taking small children.
Second and third floors by stairs or elevator has paintings and pictures.
Very unique and interesting !
Also gift shop with a bar.
A seperate kids art area
Museum supper clean with lots of places to sit. Everyone friendly with several workers throughout.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Brianna I.Oklahoma City, OK1832Nov 14, 2023
Beautiful museum! I've been wanting to go for a while and ended up going for their Chihuly "Glass in Bloom" exhibit, where they bring in fresh flowers modeled after the blown glass.
To say that the visit exceeded my expectations is the understatement of the century. It was SO much bigger than I expected with multiple floors of artwork to check out, and the special event was awesome. I believe it was $40 a ticket which is definitely on the pricier end for me, but it was worth every penny for a couple really worthwhile hours of exploring and observing.
The staff was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and willing to share their passion with anyone. At the end of our experience, I definitely spent way too much time in the gift shop, which is a great place to grab cute souvenirs for yourself or friends. We got a phases of the moon puzzle and its held its value!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 13, 20241 check-in
The OKCMOA has been such a place of piece for me this year. I joined as a member about four months ago and have to say it has been a great decision. From the Chihuly glass exhibit or Preston Singleton's Raven exhibit, you won't be disappointed! They continually change out the exhibits. So there is always something new to experience when you visit. I just love it here!

It's a great day to go to the art museum! My daughter and I decided to add alittle culture in our day! I've been to the museum in OKC before but first time with daughter. It's interesting how we can see the exact same thing but have a different experience, perspective. I love the communication that crosses all barriers and true art does just that.
However, my only co cern with regular admission you don't get to enjoy the new exhibit. What??!? Why?!?? The first two floors of the museum seem to have permanent exhibits so if you e been there many times you should have the opportunity (w/o paying extra) to see new exhibits. So that was a bummer and the reason we did a short walk through on the first and second floor... same ole art we've seen before!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Dec 1, 2019Previous reviewGreat Sunday to visit museum. Downtown Oklahoma city is beautiful this time of year. It was a relatively cool day, but the sun was shining brightly. Attendance was high as today "Sonic" covered the $12 admission for all guest.
The museum was busy with many activities for young kids. It was great seeing so many families out enjoying the activities.
We walked thru the 3rd and 2nd floor galleries. I posted pics of my favorite highlights.
Overall great day for some culture!! Next time I'll visit the restaurant. - Alexandra O.Tulsa, OK692366Feb 26, 2024
This museum was a treat! Based on the reviews it was supposed to be fun but i was a little nervous when a lot of the photos were only of the entryway. Everything looked amazing, it was very spacious, and they had many different pieces & styles displayed here. We stayed for about an hour, but it was great!

We had a pleasant time at this museum. They have a great location and the building is beautiful. Prices were decent, I remember them being under $20 a piece. They have a huge selection of art, even multiple floors. The only dislike I left with was that the staff made me feel uncomfortable. They followed us a lot and stared us down.. just doing their job but it was creepy and it was like 3 different staff. I can't forget about the gift shop, it is AWESOME and they even have a little cafe in there.

To my surprise, Oklahoma City is home to one of the largest collections of Chihuly glass. And most people are going to be drawn here for the Chihuly pieces. But this is also a very well rounded, yet manageable museum.
Chihuly speaks for himself. His pieces are stunning. Gorgeous. Otherworldly. Ethereal. The museum has done a great job of presenting them in such a way that the pieces are augmented by light, shadow, and reflection. Beautiful to behold and also makes for a great photo op.
They also have a cool permanent/modern art selection, diverse and intriguing. Artists from all walks of life are represented. I was glad to see black, first Americans, and others represented.
Another special exhibit they had, that I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did, centered on Walter Ioos's work. Ioos (pronounced YOS like dose) has shot some of the most iconic sports images in the late 20th century, as well as the 21st century.
I was moved by Hank Aaron's photo, accompanied by a quote saying that racism carved away a piece of his heart. Muhammad Ali as an older man, pushing his bicycle along on his secluded farm. All well organized and organized into appropriate sections: images of loss, pride, jubilance, determination, and more.
This museum also has a great little restaurant/bar and one of the better gift shops I've seen (including NYC). The staff is helpful. The gift shop staff were so stylish and cool!
Cheap parking close by. My ticket was just over 12 bucks.

Even though we have been here for 3 years, this was our first time to the MOA and enjoyed our visit! The Chihuly exhibit is truly spectacular.
OKC MOA is doing a great job with social distancing efforts. Scheduling visits in time intervals to reduce crowds, readily available sanitizers and limited # of people on elevators.
Kids are free! So it's a great place for the family on a rainy or cold day!
The cafe is currently closed but would love to visit again and grab some drinks at the cafe!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Business owner information

This place was really fun! It had a lot of really cool abstract art and historical art. They also had an awesome gift shop and I think a bar and restaurant too, we spent a lot of time in there just looking around. I will say I feel like security measures must be high there because we felt watched the whole entire time, it was almost kinda creepy but also funny

Rude behavior towards us from the ticketing desk made us feel inconsequential and unwelcomed, it ruined our visit.
My husband and I arrived at 11:45 7/26/23 and were promptly ignored by the 2 women seated in front of us at reception. Eventually I was acknowledged and asked to fill in the back of a ticket/pass I had from the Pioneer Library system. I was then ignored again by both women. After moments of standing in front of them without any acknowledgement I started to walk into the gallery and was hailed back to the desk "I needed a ticket". Then the employees started to squabble with the each other about who was supposed to get us ticketed. Demoralizing us and being rude amused them, and as we walked into the gallery they laughed amongst themselves.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
