Oh! Sushi

Yes 5 real stars for the sushi joint attached to the Travelodge in Monterey. Their fish is incredible, rice is perfect, and I was the schmucjk who asked for full sodium soy sauce when the Green Label would have been more appropriate. It is owned/run by "A Vvery Experienced" Japanese (My apologies, they are Korean according to a local expert) couple, and that explained why it was soooo amazing when all my red flags were going up. Also they are the room service for Travelodge.
And my partner reports it was amazing next day leftover when her stomach was upset. It cured her*.

It made my 4 year old start eating raw fish.

Go. Have your miracle.

We were looking to get sashimi, but the waiter recommended chirashi bowl, definitely more than enough fish and all good quality as well.

The rolls were pretty good but definitely heavy on the rice. We also ordered an eel/ avocado roll (not pictured), and the roll was 75% rice, 20% avocado and 5% eel. While tasty, would've loved if there was more eel

The sashimi was well presented with a no-rice protein tool kicker. Fast and engaging waiter. Clean and appealing Asian interior.

I love this place. I eat here all the time. Would go every week if I could. Every time I go I get a bunch of nigiri sushi and it's always the freshest and fattiest tasting fish. I got some example pictures below.
I haven't got any roll pics because every time I get them I devoured them before I could take one. They got plenty of options on the menu for raw and cooked rolls and if you don't want sushi you can get kitchen items like chicken teriyaki or udon noodles.
The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. They can and will cater to your every need and more.
Only downside they have is the location since it's right off the freeway. Other than that good food great staff and worth the price so I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

I'm not a raw fish kinda person, and I really appreciate that they have baked rolls and deep fried rolls. My go too choice is always the chicken teriyaki, the presentation is amazing, sizzling in a skillet so delicious. The staff is super friendly and efficient, very personable servers. Best sushi spot in town!
Their prices are very fair compared to other sushi spots in town.

Absolutely love this place. By far the best quality sushi and service in town. I've been to many places around here and I cannot recommend this place enough. The waiters are so nice and accommodating, the atmosphere is very peaceful, the decor is on point, and the food is never disappointing. Great for groups, dates, friday dinners, workday lunches, and they cater too! I feel like this place doesn't get enough attention because it's kinda tucked in and hard to find, but it's a hidden gem for sure

OK sorry I had to re-post the review this place I would not recommend it is horrible I posted because the service was nice but then I never got a fork spoon soy sauce nothing in my bag it took super long I ordered miso Ramen which I got a half a egg the miso had no flavor it tasted like dishwater The vegetables were over an undercoat like it was old this place is nasty and I can't even give them a full star they need a third of a star I got the defied shrimp tempura sushi rolls which were horrible they tasted really old and nasty do you not come here I repeat do not come here

Another amazing dinner with Oh! Sushi. My apologies for not posting any pictures on this one I was too hungry. Every time I arrive I know I'll be eating consistent flavorful but subtle enough for-my-tummy sushi. I'm so glad I tried Oh! Sushi. It's truly my sushi spot in the area now. Thank you for the good energy that's obviously in the food because I suddenly feel so jolly and relaxed. Thank you everyone at Oh! Sushi!

Pretty cheap on the prices and they don't skimp on the serving sizes. Over ate with 4 rolls.

Amazing Sushi selection. First time having popcorn lobster. The saki is top notch as well! Great staff and chill atmosphere.
