I'm not big on chain restaurants but O'charlies is a place I've always had a good salad. Tonight was no different and I ordered a sirloin steak to top it off.
Now this is not a place I would normally order a steak, but I must say it was cooked to perfection medium done. Probably one of the best steaks I've had in awhile.
Of course they are known for their rolls but passed tonight (watching my meals).

Went on a Sunday afternoon. No waiting. Ordered the "steak" with brown gravy, onions and mushrooms, with smashed potatoes and the loaded potato soup. The soup was very cheesy, with lots of crunchy bacon, but not many potatoes. The "steak" was like overcooked hamburger. Loved the gravy, and the smashed potatoes were good and plentiful. The rolls, usually a favorite, were a bit hard on the bottom. May not have been fresh. I haven't been to this restaurant for years. Most of my old favorites are no longer on the menu.

I went to O Charlie's on Hurstbourne lane.. the waitress was great so sweet! My appetizer was a puddle of grease.. who deep fries loaded potatoes? Gross could not eat them.. loaded potato soup was good. My cod tasted microwaved along with the asparagus. The asparagus was like a rubber band.. the salmon was so dry and burned on the sides. Rice was perfect.
Afterward, my stomach hurt so bad I didn't want a shirt to touch it.. thanks for our overpriced microwaved meal or deep fried grease trap potato skins. Never again! Although the food was a death trap I did tip my waitress well..it wasn't her fault and she was very sweet. Good luck to anyone that eats here hope you don't walk away sick! Oh, I didn't tell you about my drink.. diet coke zero with a splash of what I call soap.. yuck... When I visit from out of state I always go to this O'Charleys restaurant. It is one of my favorite places to eat. I was disappointed this time. I spent $74 for 3 meals, spinach dip, and a side of Mac n cheese.
Cedar salmon.... delicious no complaints. 1 sirloin w/baked potato, and broccoli.....my steak wasn't medium well and very tough. 1 sirloin w/ broccoli, and Mac n cheese...steak was very red down the center. Side of Mac n cheese...no complaints. Spinach dip.....superb....the best I've ever had. I received 2 sides of onions and 1 mushroom instead of 2 mushrooms.
When we called they took our number and said someone would get back with us. It's been two days and no one has returned our call. I am leaving the state tomorrow with an unresolved issue.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The rolls and salad were delicious! I ordered the salad as one of my sides and it was a tiny portion! Not the normal bowl of salad. I also had the chicken tenders and baked potato. The potato was over cooked and chunky and topped with waaaay too much sour cream and butter! The tenders were over cooked and tough. Probably won't be back. There are too many other fantastic restaurants in Louisville and Southern Indiana.

My wife and I usually have a great experience at O'Charleys. We would eat there once a week. The staff was always friendly and the food was always delicious. However, something has changed in the kitchen, including the menu. Glad to see the Chicken Harvest soup back but it's not even close to the original. It's watered down, half the bowl, and definitely not worth almost $6. Where's the chicken? The original harvest was thick and creamy. The french fries tasted old so they brought us new ones. They were hot but also tasted old and chewy, not crispy like usual. We couldn't eat them. They brought me the wrong chicken wrap so I had to send it back. The only highlight was our server/bartender, who is always always, friendly, and on top of things. Unfortunately she can't cook the food too. Not sure if we'll be back.

We were seated immediately, and within a few minutes our server came and introduced herself and got our drink order. The second time she came back we ordered. She also let us know that she was going on break soon and another server would be taking care of us. The other server came over and introduced herself.
After about 45 min, we inquired about our food, low and behold our food arrived. My burger was warm, fries were cold, my husband's food was cold. You can tell it had been sitting under the warmer for quite some time.
Manager came out and apologized saying it was shift change...really that's an excuse?
Have always enjoyed O'Charleys, but we will never go back to that location.

We visited on a Saturday evening and at in the bar area to avoid the wait. It took a good amount of time to ever be greeted and get water. After ordering, I got my side salad and finished before our appetizer was brought out, which took about 20 minutes to get chips and queso. We were asked if we wanted dessert and given our check when my husband asked if he was not getting his meal. They didn't realize nobody had brought dinner out. The healthy selections are very scarce, especially if you don't like salmon. I don't plan on going back to this chain.

Half of the lettuce in both salads was stale. They left out the rolls.
This was a pickup order.
Order was ready on arrival as promised.
Not sure what is happening here. No one wants stale food.
Hope to see improvement in the future.
Very few cars in parking lot at lunch time. Not a good sign.
