So I brought my friends visiting from France to see what it was to be in the West Hollywood bar, and they were not too surprised.
We had a drink and browsed around, they found it much different than where they're from, something very unique. They still had good saying about it but not too impressed.
For me this place is ok just for a drink and chit chat with people, and go home sleep.:)
I like the way the bartender made my drink, very strong so I was a little buzzed.OK really buzzed, but since I was not driving it was fine LOL.
If you are looking for hookers, then this place is for you.!!
Overall, the ambiance is a little brighter,classier, and of course the drinks are cheap so you get good amount for the price.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kimberly H.Los Angeles, CA191395552Aug 10, 2009
My mother was in town visiting LA for the first time and I wanted to show her the different facets of the city, the grand finale being a nice dinner in West Hollywood. The original plan was to dine at Dominick's for their Sunday supper special, however with her dietary restrictions (no shellfish and low carb) it would have been an extremely limited experience. While perusing other yelp sites of the area, I became distracted by an introductory offer for Numbers - 50% off the entire food bill with the mention of "yelp 1215."
I made reservations for 7:15 for Sunday evening, but it was completely unnecessary as the place was completely empty with the exception of two bar patrons. The atmosphere was calming with mood lighting and beautiful chandeliers, but was random since it was on the second floor of a strip mall above a coffee bean.
Our waiter, Christopher, was a doll. His suggestions were great (props for the Crab Cake appetizer and Halibut), our water glasses never dipped below half full, and our bread appetizer (garlic crostini w/ a chilled leek sauce) never went empty. He was attentive without grazing.
Our table featured
* Ahi Tuna Tartar
* Crispy Blue Crab Cake
* Pan seared Sesame Encrusted Tuna Steak
* Halibut Fillet
* Grilled Ahi Tuna Steak
The tartar portion was very large, but was accompanied with few chips which made it difficult to eat. The crab cake was perfectly cooked with lots of lump crab meat, however I didn't care so much for the accompanying creme fraiche. The Halibut was beautifully presented, but was much too salty. I felt a little cheated on the vegetable side of my Grilled Tuna Steak, and the boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his Sesame Tuna. Portions were generous without being disgusting.
If it weren't for the 50% discount, I doubt I would dine here as entrees run at least $33/plate. However they feature several specials throughout the week s/a two starter salads & chicken dinners for $20, and two free entrees when you spend $40 or more.
The hostess mentioned that Sunday is a slow evening, so I'm assuming the place is supposed to hot Wednesday through Saturday.
Price: Expensive
Atmosphere: Nice on the Eyes

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had.
The restaurant was not too noisy; you could hear the person next to you without having to yell, and to top it off, the DJ played some of my faves.
service was fabulous. everything was timed nicely so you had enough time between courses. our waiter was nice and not overbearing.
they ask you if you want seconds on bread. deeeelicious.
every course was delicious. our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave us an honest opinion on everything we asked about. no one is snooty, the atmosphere is great, and the food is wonderful.
i would definitely recommend eating here!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin O.West Hollywood, CA142Aug 6, 2009
Wow what a turn around, but for the worse. This is no longer a weho welcoming friendly supper club. They should change the name, so people who do not know the place has changed into a Cahuenga Blvd wanna be, come in for dinner and are shocked and dismayed. Add to the theme change the crazy dress code and the high food prices and you have a train wreck in the making. The food prices are crazy for this area and this economic climate. $34 bucks for an a la carte sea bass at Numbers??? I would pay that at Providence or Water grill, but not here. Also, all these 5 star reviews are so scripted. Come on yelpers, keep the site honest. I give this new Numbers 2 months tops.

The food is way over-priced, the place is dead and my $9.00 salad was served with bottled ranch dressing. The place is not worth returning to.

Numbers is the perfect embodiment of the West Hollywood dining experience. The decor is modern yet retro - a classic dinner club taken to present-day. There is a bar and a dj, but not over-powering - a very subtle and enjoyable listening experience. Good people watching goes without saying.We had Salmon medallions with homemade gourmet sauces (they are known for their original sauces), a filet mignon that rivals Mortons, Oysters (flown in) that surpass Ocean Ave's in SM, Sea Bass, Halibut - the list goes on. Their fries are better than McDonalds... They specialize in Cosmos (they have a huge drink menu). We threw caution to the wind and just kept chewing and swallowing all the way through dessert. All we knew is that we had to eventually muster up enough strength to make it back to the valet - and we did. Make sure to ask for 'Maz' - if this unique and interesting owner is there, he will surely steer you in the right direction with your order.... I almost enjoyed his run-through of the choices as much as the meals themselves. He is the quintessential restaurateur - he cares and it shows. Come here if you want a feast, or even if you just want to have drinks and take in the scene (being on the 2nd floor yields fine and expansive views).

Wow, I love coming here with my boys...sure there's no one for me to take home but the food is A+ (apparently the chef used to be Ronald Regan's chef!!), the ambience is spectacular and the service is friendly and HOT!! Yes they're unattainable if you are me (a vag-I mean a woman) but they are fun to look at and know how to party. If you want to party you can, if you want to sit in a cozy romantic corner, you can do that too. Digits (formerly Numbers) has everything a great night out has to offer. Seriously, don't waste your time at the other annoying santa monica bars and clubs, this is a one stop shop for men of all kinds...classy, sassy, old and young...i come here just for the people watching, stiff martinis and great grub!!
