Nourhy C.
I've been doing Healing work since 1999. I got into healing because I had a near death experience and it changed my life. I tried all kinds of things to help myself heal from my injuries and got hooked into learning more. I started as a massage therapist and slowly learned other modalities as well as about energy. I use Reflexology, CranioSacral Therapy and Intuition in my work. I have studied with some well know intuitive healers and even astrologers like Susan Miller and the AstroTwins. so if you are open to that it can be part of your session. I have people who want to know things and other clients like lawyers who come regularly for CranioSacral Sessions that I never tell them anything and they are just as happy, so your session depends on you and what you want out of it. Its worth a try and be open to new experiences. At least you'll enjoy the surroundings and be treated like a person not a number.

WONDERFUL! If I had to describe this in 1 word - but good thing I don't have to, because there are so many good things I have to say about Nourhy!
I took the best-friend last weekend for a massage for the very first time. It was a complete surprise for him! Nourhy was such a wonderful person and I really believe in the energies that people pass on to you. She has so much positive energy that you just instantly feel calm and relaxed. Even though I wasn't the one getting the massage, I felt it.
But the actual massage was even better, as the best-friend tells me. He said she knew exactly which points of stress to tackle and was very patient and gentle. He felt like totally a new person and so calm all evening!
Nourhy also gives some healthy advice on diet, de-stressing and drinking water! She is very genuine and really believes in her work, which is why my bff and I both were glad we found her!
Thank you Yelp for helping me find her!Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Shana M.Milwaukee, WI1272562Nov 13, 2008
I had a Great experience with Nourhy. I found her to be incredibly personable, kind, and well practiced. I talked with her on the phone for a bit when making my appointment and immediately felt friendly towards her. It was obvious that she's serious about her work and her clients' satisfaction.
99% of the reviews I read on Yelp about Nourhy were very positive (5 stars) with the exception of two standouts. I read the scathing reviews for Now Massage but found it easy to dismiss them for two reasons:
1. One of the negative reviewers complained about not getting the kind of massage she was used to. Let me counter her complaint with this, TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM NOW MASSAGE'S WEBSITE, ahem:
"This is not a typical massage session."
That is the SECOND SENTENCE in the paragraphs about her massage service. You can see how it was easy to discount that complaint.
2. The other major reason I was able to overlook the two scathing reviews were the authors' apparent negative vendetta against a business owner that obviously cares about her work and customers passionately (an opinion formed after visiting her website). I read the reviews, and read Nourhy's website, and decided that the negativity and anger of the reviewers seemed very unwarranted and that I'd go and have a great massage.
I totally did Love every minute too. Hopefully, other readers will overlook thing 1 and thing 2 and follow the many, many stars that the other kinder, and more open minded, Yelpers have given her.
Nourhy knows her stuff. She's been doing what she does professionally for nearly 10 years and she probably became interested about the ranges she covers long before that.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a Reflexology session. I'll admit I had imagined a more deep tissue, rubbing of my feet than I received, but that's totally OK because what I got was even better. Nourhy touched not only my feet but my energy, she felt right away the anxiety and sadness that I've been carrying around for awhile, spoke to it, worked some of it out, and rubbed my feet in a very relaxing and healing way for longer than I payed her for.
I could go on, because I'm interested in the kind of work Nourhy's doing. I'll just say that I will be returning next time I've saved a bit of cash for some of that knowledgeable, healing love that she bestowed on me from her absolutely adorable little studio. Good vibes all around.Helpful 19Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0Business owner information

Shana, you are a lovely soul and I thank you for your comments...I'm glad that you believed in me enough to come to my studio and make up your own mind!

Wow, I hate being the first person to give a less than 5-star review. Oh well.
I went in with a flip-flop induced pain in my left foot for a Reflexology massage. I found the massage to be more painful than relaxing, but this was my first Reflexology massage so it could just be a misunderstanding on my part about how the process is supposed to work.
It was a very nice facility and Buster (dog) was very cute. Nourhy was very accommodating and easy to talk too.
Unfortunately, by the time I walked 3-blocks back to my car my foot hurt just as much as it did before the massage. Not good! I was hoping to get at least a few pain-free days after the massage. Only 3 stars.Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Janet E.Minburn, IA119322481056May 1, 2010
I give this place 3.5 stars.
I came here the other day for a craniosacral therapy session. I had never had one before and was hopeful the session would help me relieve some stress. It was definitely not what I expected. I thought it was going to be a head massage of some sort, but it was more of a "touching" session where the touching was not a massage but just her placement of hands on certain parts of my body.
This studio does not have a waiting area for clients so make sure you arrive at your appointment no earlier than your scheduled appointment time. I arrived early and had to return to my car to wait for my session to start.
Nourhy was extremely sweet to me. She's very nice and understanding. She even gave me a small sample of peppermint oil to help me relax. She has a dog named Buster who followed us everywhere, even into the room where I was having my session. I'll be honest, he's a cute dog, but he was panting so hard I couldn't really concentrate on clearing my mind. Even when we let him out of the room he started scratching the door to get back into the room. Despite the distractions, the hour went by quickly and I did feel more relaxed than when I went in.
I'm not quite sure if craniosacral is for me. I hate to give 3 stars out of 5 but I feel having a waiting room is important so that clients are not sitting in their car or standing outside in Chicago's crazy weather. Also, Buster may not be appropriate for people, especially those that dont like dogs or are allergic.Helpful 17Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Business owner information

yes, Craniosacral is not a head massage and I try to make that very clear to people that it usually takes a few sessions to get the hang of it, but its not for everyone, I agree. I would encourage people to try a couple of sessions before they close their minds to it. I try to be careful to ask people if they mind if Buster comes and generally people want him there. There is a tiny hallway entrance for a person to wait and once inside there is a waiting room, but I always ask people to come on time and not really early...its just a tiny studio.

I was given a $100 gift certificate for an hour with Nourhy recently. I'm glad to see so many others have had great experiences with her, though that was not the case for me. The massage itself was akin to ones I've had from students for $25. Within a few hours my chronic upper back pain was back as much as ever. Most of the time she was working on me she lectured me about being too thin, not eating enough protein, and lacking upper body strength. Apparently my morning kefir-banana-strawberry smoothies are too sweet and starchy and my rowing and swimming routines aren't rigorous enough. When I asked for diet advice, she sent me to the internet. When I pointed out that I've always been thin, and used the example of my male friends filling out in their early 20s while I remained the same weight, she said they were probably just eating too much junk food.
After holding my feet for like 10 minutes, the music stopped and she told me I needed to stop thinking so much. Beyond eating and working out more, I would need ongoing, regular acupuncuture and massage.
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm a bit of a stress case and that I could take better care of myself, but neither did the advice I receive about how to improve nor did the way I receive it impress me. In contrast, a few years ago I received another professional massage which involved some mix of traditional massage and some kind of energy work through pressure points and my back felt better afterward than it had in years. All tingly with energy. The guy who worked on me then also counseled that I could use to "let go" of some of my pain. This was an excellent experience not only because he gave me a sense of what it feels like not to have back pain, if only for a short while, but he pointed to the source of my pain without making me feel defensive or condescended to.
I didn't really want to write a negative review here, but when I saw how many unfailingly positive reviews there were, I decided I should say something. Looking at the other reviews here, Nourhy clearly has something going for her. I suspect folks who are into energy work and the like will have a great experience. But she's not for everyone, especially if you're focused on immediate pain relief. If this wasn't a gift, I would have chosen otherwise and I suspect I would have been better off for it.Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0Business owner information

I can not possibly make everyone happy and yes, my work is better off served with those that are open-minded enough to try a more holistic experience. With "Erik" I did spend at least 30 minutes taking before we even started the 1 hr session and he admitted that he hadn't had any bodywork in over 3 years. Whenever, I suggested he try to relax and let go to focus on the music, it was clearly very difficult for him. I can not work magic on someone who is not interested in dealing with their own issues and he was pain free when he left. I can only try my best and most appreciate it.

I got my mom a Reflexology massage as an early birthday present and I am beyond glad that I made that decision. Nourhy is such a wonderful, understanding and patient person. She was nothing but wonderful to my mother, my sister( who I brought along) and myself. She really did help my mother a lot...she came out of that massage much more relaxed, happy and open-minded. The waiting room was so cool and well decorated that we couldn't help but feel relaxed. My mother told me that the massage was wonderful and she's going back(my mother is a very honest woman). She absolutely loves Nourhy (as do my sister and I) and are so grateful that we met such a genuinely great person.
Believe me...go to Nourhy to get a massage as my mother swears that she has magic hands. It's been a little over a month and my mom is still thanking me for the massage.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alison S.Detroit, MI49137Jul 27, 2017

All the stars must fall into alignment above this place, as Nourhy is without doubt blessed with the gift of healing touch.
For those in search of simple, peaceful wholistic healing in a warm and inviting environment, there is no better place than NOW studio.
Expect to leave a different person as you first enter as her receptive nature will read you and know just where you need attention, be it spiritual, nutrional, physical, even financial.
She may not cure you, but will help you find the direction of the path you need to journey and with better posture as she helps you find your balance and brings you closer to peace.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Rosie T.Studio City, CA9922643Jan 14, 2008
Really unexpected pleasure. Yes, I did go for a massage. I left feeling de-stressed and energized. (No... there's no happy ending) Nourhy has a great little studio that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed even while you're waiting for your turn. She's amazing. I have to admit that I was expecting just a massage. I got reflexology and energy work with some massage. It was an all in 1 deal.
Nourhy, thank you. This was a treat. I'll be back the next time I come to Chicago.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Kristin W.Chicago, IL50944Oct 23, 2008
I have never had a professional massage before so I don't have much to compare to. But I have to say that I had an amazing experience here at NOW.
Nourhy was as nice as could be and really fixed me up. I had had a neck spasm earlier in the week and could hardly move! I went to the doctor and she suggested to get a massage. I took my iPhone out and immediately looked up a massage place on Yelp. NOW had the highest rating and really good reviews so I called her up from the doctors office and she told me to come on over!
The place is super cute and VERY comfortable. You won't feel rushed here or intimidated. I felt so comfortable during the massage that I think I might have fallen asleep. It was wonderful and my neck felt better immediately and I felt completely healed the following day, which Nourhy said might happen.
I can't recommend this place enough. I know I'll be coming back.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
