It's amazing :)
All the nurses and doctors here are very nice. I just got my gallbladder removed last night and everything has been going well.
Today I got an ERCP Procedure done and it went smoothly.
I've never had surgeries before, or even been to a hospital before, I've been here all week and it's been very nice and felt like a vacation lol.
A lot of nice nurses and staff work here and if I ever go to a hospital again I hope it's as great as a time I had hereHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

From the moment I arrived at Northbay Hospital, everything seemed to go wrong. I was falsely diagnosed with a stroke, which was later discovered to be an old brain injury. This misdiagnosis led to a series of inappropriate treatments, including the administration of a blood thinner. Despite the contraindications, a lumbar puncture was performed after having the blood thinner, resulting in a horrific reaction that left me unable to move my upper body and in excruciating pain for five agonizing days.
The most distressing part of this ordeal was the denial and gaslighting I experienced from the neurologist (Dr. Rehman) who performed the lumbar puncture. Instead of acknowledging my reaction and providing immediate relief, I was made to feel as though I was exaggerating or fabricating my symptoms and was even told I should see a psychiatrist. This lack of empathy and understanding only prolonged my suffering and added to the trauma I endured. I waited five long, agonizing days, laying in a bed feeling like I was being tortured alive when I finally had a blood patch on that fifth day. The blood patch should've been performed within 24 hours after seeing my horrific reaction. However, the neurologist was in such denial, I was subjected to even more MRI's, cat scans and 3 rounds of contrast dye within those few days that were all completely unnecessary invasive exposures to radiation and toxic heavy metals. It took me months to heal from this and I now have permanent bladder damage and have lost half of my hair in addition to having what feels like worsening nerve damage. I walked into the hospital completely functioning, and I walked out damaged. I needed to use a walker for almost a month.
In addition to the physical pain and emotional distress, I also suffered significant financial losses due to the inability to work during my hospital stay and in the month following my whole ordeal. This added burden has only compounded the negative impact of my experience at Northbay Hospital.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I would like to thank the RNs that take care of 1650. You guys are rocking it and you are truly experts at bedside care and professionalism. I was recently hit by a car, and was in surgery at North Bay the next morning. Now home healing I can't be thankful enough for the nurses like Magda, Alyssa, Celeste, Aiko and many others that I just simply can't remember your names. I will never forget you and I will forever be grateful, love Amy.

Called today due to there being an issue with getting my grandmothers RX sent to the pharmacy. I spoke with Tatiana and she helped so much doctor was out to lunch when I originally called she made sure that when the doctor got back from lunch that they took care of it and she followed up with me after to let me know it was sent and then an hour later called me again to make sure there was no problems with the pharmacy receiving the RX so it wouldn't go past 5 pm again with nothing from the physician. Great customer service and the health care field needs more people like Tatiana that go above and beyond to make sure the patients are treated with care.

I went to emergency care and never saw a doctor. When I finally left, they called the police because I was frustrated with their indifference to my problem. This place is terrible.

We were in a car accident and from out of state. we Took my mother here for care.
Easy location, plenty of parking. There was a bit of a wait, but it's the norm in ER's.
i have to say the service was excellent! Upon entry we were greeted and told where to check in. The gal was thorough, professional and friendly. Then, another assistant helped with obtaining further information about her health.
Unfortunately she had a bit of a wait for a room and CT, but we are satisfied.
The staff was awesome and her nurse super sweet.
We are so grateful we selected this hospital to attend to my mother.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Came to the ER after I passed out while driving on the freeway.. I waited for close to 5 hours in the lobby and was never seen before I left to seek care elsewhere.
Additionally, I attempted to give them a second chance by trying to make an appointment with cardiology. I've called almost 10 times and have yet to get anyone to answer... would highly suggest finding care elsewhere. It's unfortunate you can't utilize a healthcare system close to home.
The cleanliness of the ER lobby was not up to standards either. (Ripped chairs, trash on the floor, & foul odor)Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

This review is from my Dad's stay in the ICU from April 22 - April 27.
Northbay is not my Dad's regular health provider but because of the condition he was in, he was transported there via ambulance as it was the closest hospital. I can't even count how many hospitalizations my Dad has had over the years and never in my life, have I ever seen my Dad be treated with such care, compassion, and attentiveness like he did at Northbay.
I'd like to take a moment to recognize a few of the ICU nurses who took part in caring for my Dad during his stay. Ruth, Carmen, Jonnette, Edith, Ariana, Scott, Colin, Ron and Anthony. Each and every one of you went above and beyond to provide the care my Dad needed during one of the worst times of his life. You all were so patient with my Dad and that meant the world to me because you all treated him, as I would treat him. I felt incredibly comfortable with each of you being his Nurse because you can tell you're passionate about what you do. Since I didn't stay overnight, meeting his night nurses was always a priority to me. Anthony and Jonnette were his night shift nurses for two of the nights and I was able to go home and easily get rest, knowing my Dad was being cared for by them.
There were a number of physicians I spoke to but Dr. Ong stood out to me. He was the nephrologist who was overlooking my Dad's condition. He was straight up with his answers, didn't beat around the bush, and was able to explain to us exactly what was going on. He continued to check in with us and give us daily updates on his condition. His colleague Dr. Ruben was great too. Both physicians were knowledgeable and kept us in the loop with everything.
All the Intensivists were great. Those doctors know what they are doing. They're so incredibly smart and include you in the discussions of care and treatment plans they have in mind. I didn't have too many discussions with them but they were always available if you needed them.
The lady who specializes in putting in PICC lines was amazing too. I can't remember her name but it started with an N'. She made my Dad feel comfortable and explained exactly what she was looking for when determining whether or not she could successfully and safely, put in the PICC line. She was very knowledgeable and let us know that the PICC line wasn't safe to put in. I appreciate her honesty and the laughs we had while she was in the room.
The speech language pathologist who visited my Dad daily was amazing too. I can't remember her name either but she was a young black lady. She explained why she was there and what she was looking for. She adjusted my Dad's diet based on her findings and readjusted it after a couple days when my Dad requested to be able to eat salad again. She went out of her way to make sure it was safe enough for my Dad to do so, which she didn't have to. She listened to my Dad's concerns and made sure she addressed them.
I also like to recognize Hope, the social worker who helped me with a bunch of documents and gave me several different resources I could utilize for the continued care of my Dad upon discharge. She was on the phone, talking to different people, making sure she was answering all the questions I had. She too, went above and beyond to assist me, the daughter of the patient.
A special thanks to all the phlebotomists who had to take my Dad's blood. His veins were terrible and hard to get to. You all were gentle as you could be and I appreciate that.
My Dad's case manager was also amazing. I wish I were better with remembering names but I remember she wore glasses. She kept us informed on the process of transferring my Dad to Kaiser for continued care. On his final day at Northbay, she came in to let us know it was confirmed that he'd be leaving in a few hours. She grabbed my Dad's hand and let him know that it was their pleasure taking care of him and then she hugged me too. I needed that hug.
I am genuinely blown away at every single person who I came in contact with during his stay. I have never seen my Dad be treated with such a high level of care before. His care was so exceptional that I didn't even want him to be transferred out, I wanted him to stay there to be cared for.
To those I named and those who I may forgot, THANK YOU. Thank you for tending to my Dad's needs with not only your expertise but with your heart. You can tell how much each and every one of you care about what you do and how much you care about your patients. Northbay is extremely lucky to have you all.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information
