My wife and I stayed here during Memorial Day weekend in 2015 and really enjoyed it. The cabins are quaint but offer a small kitchenette, a bed, a screened porch, an open porch and bathroom. The only downside is that there is no drinking on the grounds. There is a very simple solution to this, bring your dog and your beer to the dog beach at Devil's Lake across the street. Pro-tip: Just don't bring your dog during peak dog tick season like we did unless you like adventure.

Camped here with my husband, and another couple, and we will most definitely be back! The campground at Devil's Lake was completely full, but this campsite was just across the street from the park and was far from crowded. We had no neighbors in the the campsites next to us. The rules in place were well respected and the evenings were quiet and peaceful (no alcohol is allowed on the campgrounds). There is a little general store type place at the front where you check in, it also has essentials if you forgot anything. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, with checkin, checkout, and everything in between. Very cute campsite, the sites are well shaded and spacious. There is also a shower house near the front of the campgrounds that cost a quarter for about 5-7 minutes (I was able to completely shower with time left over), and regular flushing toilets. At the back of the campground there is also a pit toilet house, while smelly they were pretty clean for pits.
The only issues we had were that the campsite numbers were a little difficult to find as they were posted at the back of each site and we came in at 10 at night. And some sites have decent tree roots sticking out of the ground. We accidentally set our tent up on one, but it did not hinder our experience. We would highly recommend this campsite to anyone who is looking for an excellent camping experience without all the crowds of the state park.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matthew K.Lincoln Square, Chicago, IL5157Jul 16, 2017
This place is a total dive. Worst cabins I've ever stayed in. We had a party of 8 and rented three cabins for the weekend. The cabins are old and run down. The roofs are in bad need of replacement. The cabin roofs have tarps on top being weighed down by 2x4 pieces of wood. During the evening our first night there was a thunder storm and the electricity went out. As a result the water stopped working so we were unable to take showers until the power came back on. The manager was totally useless. I'd rate this place Zero stars if it were possible.

We went last week for the first time and I miss it so much and want to go back already. The cottage felt like home , was so clean, supplied a good fan blankets sheets pillows silver wear cooking tools pots pan dishes cups stove oven fire pit picnic table lots of seating comfy bed fridge ice tray freezer good size yard around the cottage. we cooked food and star gazed every night , walked and drove to Devils lake every day. One day drove to the dells. The staff at Nordic pines is great it is such a wonderful place to spend time at and great price. we had an amazing time, there's even a friendly cat who seems to live on the grounds and she/he came by our late night fires and hung out with us. Somebody below mentioned there's no drinking, drinking is allowed in and around the cottage area , but not camp grounds. We were never bothered and didn't have to interact with anyone which I liked and it was just perfect. Thank u Nordic pines can't wait to come back.

Overall not a place for anyone who wants to enjoy a nice camp fire with friends and family and star gaze without getting harassed. We heard it was a nice place but checking in the guys was super rude, even though the couple he was helping prior to us he was nice to them. We finally got to our campground and we got too close to the outhouse and there must have been something that happened cause the smell was too strong at times. The head person was upset that it was a bit past 10 and we had music playing at low volume then past 11 he complained that were loud even though we were just sitting around the fire waiting for it to die down while some of us had gone to bed already. He creeped up on us after hiding in the bushes and demanded we be quiet and sleep. After a while we did and were asked to leave before the check out time. Campers around us did come to us when we were leaving and commented that they were not bothered by us last night and they too have had problems with complains that they need to be quiet or in bed after 11. Campers around us commented that the individual had harassed them as well.
