The ferry boat to Alameda is not scheduled to arrive at Pier 41 until 2:55 PM. Thus, I have some time on hand to walk around and browse at Pier 39 and some of the shops.
One of my favorite store to visit is the NFL Shop. I love this store because it has a huge inventory of merchandise of some of the professional teams in the NFL, MLB, NBA and college teams. I didn't buy anything this time around, but I have bought a few sports items in the past as birthday and Christmas gifts.
The merchandise is a little pricey, but what does one expect when the shop is in an area with beaucoup tourists during the summer season? Still it is a go to place for the sports fanatics who like to wear top quality, authentic sportswear and to represent their respective teams (Niners, Raiders, Giants, A's, Warriors, Sharks and even the Lakers). They don't only carry clothes (tees, hoodies, hats, etc.) for all ages but also bobbleheads, plush animals, blankets and memorabilias.
The shop was busy and the only minor drawback I have seen was only one employee at the cash counter and lots of customers on the first level.
For all SF Giants fan, head upstairs to the second level. I saw the overhead signage. I did not check it out because I am a fan from across the bay. However, it's all good and a fun place to browse and shop.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michelle A.San Francisco, CA02Nov 29, 2022
My husband finally decided as a birthday gift to himself, he would get himself a custom jersey. It was before his birthday and they were having a decent sale. He wanted authentic, a company he can trust. So why not go straight to NFL. This company by far has the worst customer service ever, if you do not want to be swindled, do not even bother, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Over a month no customer service update, email, phone, NOTHING.. Every time you call you either GET someone who is NEW, answering the phone unprofessional, HARD to UNDERSTAND... and HAS NO CLUE WHAT IS GOING ON.... Never can get a MANAGER. They are always submitting some BS ticket to get you moving along. Any way no update for over a month. After we call then we get a ticket put in, NO Explanation, except for its an OUTSIDE company that makes CUSTOM, They ALL OF A SUDDEN do not have the size avaialable. Ummm did anyone call to advise NO NO and NOOOO!!!! So now we wait some more. Then call again a few weeks later, NO CLUE as to what is going on .. WHERE ARE YOUR COMPUTER NOTES, ACCOUNT NOTES HELLO!!! No MANAGER AGAIN!! Wait... for it... ANOTHER TICKET... Nothing resolved. Today we get an email stating that because this item was a sale item, THEY DO NOT REFUND THE MONEY, they chose a charity of THEIR CHOICE.. please tell me this is a JOKE!!!! Then we call, get another person on the phone NO CLUE, put on HOLD to guess what.. .ready for this... CREATE ANOTHER TICKET and you will receive an updated EMAIL. GIVE US OUR MONEY, and we promise to never EVER EVER EVER deal with this SORRY *y^%%$$ COMPANY AGAIN...

Please beware. I got stuck with these guys because of a gift that was a size large (which I wear in everything) and this was extremely small, tight, and short. No problem right? Just exchange it for a different size. That doesn't exist. Your option is to return the item and get a gift card. If you got it on sale, you are out of luck, no exchanges. Now I'm stuck with a tiny hoodie that I will never wear and my only other option is to return it for a gift card and pay $25 more for the exact same hoodie in a different size. Makes zero sense. Go elsewhere, what an embarrassment.

A lot of people visit The City to attend sporting events. Let's face it, a lot of people who visit other cities to go to sporting events are guys, like me. Meaning: You wait until the last minute to pack or pick up a new piece of gear before a game.
Cue the NFL Shop: If you're in SF and need to pick up some gear for your team, they will likely have at least something. BTW - This is full of NFL, MLB, NBA, (some) NHL, NCAA from a large variety of teams. They actually have a good selection, and I suspect they know what they're doing. They have a ton of Niners/Giants gear for SF faithful, and usually stock the teams that visit. They also have a good permanent selection, including vintage Niners. (If I ever get a Niners jersey, it will be Joe Cool - he was my hero as a 9-13/14 year-old even though I lived in Minnesota)
You probably shouldn't go too far out of your way to get here unless you're visiting and down by Pier 39/Fisherman's Wharf. But, I can tell you the Wharf is lousy with out-of-towners rooting for the opponents of the Niners, GIants, A's, Rai... (not really ;) ), Dubs, Cal, Stanford, and the Regular Season Sharks. Or people who come here just to see those teams. Or come here and decide to stay at Fisherman's Wharf. I need to see how they are set for EPL gear, since every Brit I meet wants to know where they can find Soccer on at 3am in a bar in SF. Maybe someone should open an all-night Soccer bar in the Wharf. ... ... ...
Prices are reasonable, and it's not too deep into Pier 39. They also have an awesome selection of kids clothes, so if you're an uncle/aunt who wants to outfit your nephews/nieces in a Buster Posey onesy you can do your Santa thing here.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 16Oh no 0 - 1333250738787Jul 2, 2015
When on vacation you must bring the kids back souvenir's right? Well two years ago my wife and I went to this very same shop located on the wharf to buy my son a Giants shirt. So while at the wharf we figured this was again a great idea as the shop had such an awesome selection.
Located opposite Ghirardelli Square close to the Ferry Building is a set of shops and restaurants. It is in the heart of the touristy area waterside and I don't think you could miss it's big huge sign. Inside you will find just about every single NFL item of every team made, it is that vast. As well as other items like local Giants and Warriors official gear. The outside was clean and picked up.
We entered on the downstairs level which has youth sizes. The older man behind the counter did not say anything and allowed us to shop as a few other customers did the same. We were there long enough the some interaction would have been perfect to discuss sizing etc. However, it never happen and we had to ask for help. Once we did he was more than happy to assist and pointed us upstairs for sizing and a much larger selection.
Once upstairs we quickly got options that would work and was amazed at how huge and the selection was out of this world deep. I don't think it would be possible to not walk out of there with something if you needed gear. Again I spotted a young man behind a counter. We shopped for a good fifteen minutes without any interaction. At one point I did engage him about options and he was very friendly and helpful.
The store had attractive displays upstairs and was vast. The downstairs was small and only had youth, toddler sizes but presented well. There are stairs that take you to the second floor. Pricing of items was completely in line with any other place. Although at the wharf where rent is steep they are competitive which was to my delight.
We ended up finding something that worked perfectly and did not go with hometown, but my son's beloved Dolphins. Checkout was flawless. Four plus, but missing the full five stars due to staff that was more laid back for me. These two gentlemen if more proactive would boost sales for the shop and provide an upgraded image of just being helpful.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Nov 10, 2014
Love this store.. but I would give it -one star for the heat (can I get that fan/AC blowing please). It's huge (yes, that's what she said.. and I was referencing the store) and selections are not "too" prejudiced against non-Yay Area teams.
Some of the sports stores in San Diego only carry Chargers merchandise (ok and a few Raiders stuff) and like 5 items of the 5 top NFL teams which are all XXL. Really? So in comparison to other sports shops I've been to... this store deserves a 4 star.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Guy H.Cape Coral, FL09Jan 10, 2022

I ordered a womens sweatshirt in a 2x, the automatically add a $15 2 day shipping fee which I was not aware of until it was billed.....what a hustle.... tried several times to cancel or talk to someone, but the keep hanging up.....
Now the sweatshirt is actually way too small for a woman wearing a size 12....
Now stuck paying $10 to ship back....
Shipping costs rediculous, never buy from them again
Do not buy from this companyHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
