New China Star Restaurant

New China Star is a Chinese restaurant in Bethlehem located on Linden Street. The menu, prices, and food quality are comparable to every other takeout Chinese restaurant.

They are open from 11AM - 930PM every day except Sunday. Sunday they don't open until noon. There is no dine-in option but they do deliver.

I had to throw away my main course of General Chicken It was inedible, supposed to be hot & spicy even put in notes extra hot and spicy. It was the complete opposite, it was like trying to eat candied chicken. So sweet it made my teeth hurt.

I am from the San Francisco Bay Area where we have a large Chinese immigrant population and the Chinese food is great. So I have a pretty high standard of comparison.

I found the food at New China to be mediocre to poor. When I brought my take-out food home I found that the Chow Mein had no noodles. It just had lots of sprouts and other veggies. The veggies were okay, but I ordered a noodle dish and it came with no noodles. Yikes! My son ordered Orange Chicken and it was a bit mushy and the taste was unremarkable. There was "no crunch and no tang", my son said.

The only redeeming thing I found it that the food is cooked to order and is ready in 5-10 minutes while you wait. However, there is no place to sit down so you have to take the food home or to your office to eat it. But then it gets cold by then which makes the flavor even more mediocre.

Only go here if you are in a rush and don't have expectations in regards to taste.

AMAZING chinese food in Bethlehem! Our food is always fresh. The takeout/delivery service is always pretty quick and we have never had any errors in our orders. They are always accommodating for any special requests we might have. I really do not know what the "it" factor is other than freshness but their food stands out so much compared to the other take out jawns in the area. Their crab ragoon is simply the best, and there's something about their veggie fried rice that is superior! See for yourself.

The lady that answers and takes orders is RUDE! THIS will be your first impression. The food is basic, nothing authentic and special to make them stand out. They need to step up their game and change their attitudes

Decent place. Have had a bunch of things off of their lunch menu and I've never been disappointed.

Pros:
VERY reasonable price wise. Great bang for buck.

Soups and noodles all very good. Everything tastes freash.

Pretty quick service. They'll say 10 min and it will be 10 min.

Nine out of Ten orders have been spot on


Cons:
Parking stinks (on street only in a busy area)

The one of the ten (mentioned above) was when I order Pepper Steak w Onions....the steak was not quality at all.

In my opinion not really the cleanest Chinese Take Out place I've ever been in.

I've gone there quite a bit because of proximity, and I'm sure I'll go there in the near future. I keep going back because for what it is (Chinese Takeout), it's very consistent.

I have had takeout and delivery here many times. It has always been hot, fresh and really good. Delivery is usually pretty quick too.

The food is hit or miss. If you order during peak hours it's literally the most delicious Chinese take out you have ever had. Like seriously guys when it's fresh it's delicious. Do yourself a favor, if your getting food here order it on like a Friday night at like 5pm. You will not be disappointed.

Bad customer service. I ordered chicken that wasn't meant to be spicy and it come overly spicy, like stomach hurt type of spicy so i called to see what options i had; got hung up on the first call so i called again and they didn't offer anything. Didn't even give a fuck lmao. Never ordering from here again.

Picked up food to take with us to visit my mother-in-law. What a pleasant surprise!!! We ate the most delicious wonton soup. Very rich broth with huge wontons and plenty of shredded roast pork. Their lunch specials are a great value!!!
