I think anyone local to the Battle Creek area knows the state of Chinese food restaurants. If not, let me help. It's poor. I mean just really not good. POOR!

New China Moon holds up the standard of lousy Chinese food here in BC. We ordered on Christmas Day as typically the only restaurants open on the holiday. The order was not very big. Just a small Bourbon chicken, a small pork chop suey and a small shrimp fried rice.

I should have known ahead of time that this was going to be a HUGE disappointment when walking in and not seeing any Asian people working the counter or back.

The pork chop suey was a complete disappointment and frankly awful. Now, I am a HUGE fan of pork chop suey. Ive been eating it for years and let me tell you.....this wasn't even close. Large chunks of red tinged roasted pork in a brown sauce (wait, did you just say "brown" sauce? Yes!! Ikr? Brown sauce!?!?) with carrots, pea pods, onions and celery. This should be called roasted pork with mixed vegetables. The listing stated "pork chop suey" mind you (not ROAST pork chop suey).
First, let's go over exactly what pork chop suey is: thin sliced, fine strips of stir-fried pork, bean sprouts, celery, onion and plus/minus water chestnuts in a white sauce. (WHITE!! NEVER BROWN!) That's it folks. It's not difficult. If you're going to use roast pork, you state that in the menu listing. Completely shaking my head here. Check the picture.....

The shrimp fried rice had a sparse amount of small shrimp. Unflavorful, yellow colored rice that clearly was not seasoned with any soy sauce (or anything else for that matter). I'm not even sure it was fried!! The cook tossed a few frozen peas and carrots for good measure and served it up plain, tasteless and bland.

The bourbon chicken was just chunks of over-cooked chicken thighs in some fairly tasteless brown sauce. That's it! Nothing else. Not a vegetable or even and onion. No breading. Nothing. Now, I'm not a connoisseur of bourbon chicken but that seems lame to me. The taste was absent of anything flavorful.

100% DISAPPOINTING. JUST REALLY BAD FOOD.

We have eaten at China Moon a couple of times. The first time, it was really good. The second and third times, we found the customer service to be lacking. We found that the server spent more time in the back kitchen area than being available to help customers if they needed anything. One of the times, I remember sitting there waiting for the server to ask for silverware while my food was sitting there. While I would give their food 4 stars, their customer service is lacking. The times we went there were mud afternoon, so being busy wasn't a problem.

Best Chinese restaurant in Battle Creek. Food was great. Service was great. Can't complain

I placed my order online, everything was smooth, dinner was fantastic. Unfortunately, I did not receive my full order of crab wagoons, even after confirming the number in my order at the puckup counter. It was confirmed that 5 came in the order, but once I got home I only received two. I contacted the restaurant and was told I had to take it up with the third party "Yelp". I didn't understand, yet didn't want to argue the point. In addition, most restaurants include three patties of egg fu young, I received two.
Crab Rangoons

I had not been to a sit down, non-buffet Chinese restaurant in quite awhile, but I may be doing it more often after visiting here! The service was very attentive, my drink was never empty and staff stopped by multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. It's nice and quiet, good place for conversation, as most of the other patrons while we were there were just stopping in to pick up take out orders.

I had the bourbon chicken, and which on the lunch combo came with an egg roll and fried rice. The portions here for the price are fantastic! I couldn't even finish my whole lunch, and only paid around $7. The dinners were also fairly priced, and there is a good selection on the menu. Take out and delivery are options as well, and I'll definitely be taking advantage of that since I live in the area.

Egg foo young is burned on one side and very greasy. The gravy is super salty.This is the second time it happened. I thought maybe the first time was a fluke and maybe the cook was having a bad night or something. But it appears to be how they make their egg foo young. If you like burned and greasy omelettes, you'll like it.

Ordered 6 entrées for takeout. They were ready in 20 minutes. Everyone loved it. I had Bean Curd Homestyle which was delicious. The veggie rolls are also great. We will definitely be going back to dine in sometime.

Been going here for years!! I always love this place. Great food always done really quickly. Love the way the pack it, its still very warm and good even after a 30min drive home. 10/10 do recommend!

Food was hot and crispy even driving 25 minutes home. They are doing a great job keeping customers apart at window. By giving you a number when your order is ready to go in a pick it up. All orders are made fresh since the restaurant part is not open. Everything we ordered was good and we will definitely order again.
