I came here for a friend's birthday last Friday. We sat outside in the fenced off area. The place was cute, comfortable lounge area, sofas and tables...she got table service all night and the waiters were pretty attentive. I was hungry so I ordered from the lounge menu...bacon burger with sweet potato fries. And it was....quite disapppointing. All I had were flashbacks of the delicious burger and the best sweet potato fries at FATHER's OFFICE. MMMMMMMMMMM.....It's a cool place to hangout and people watch, except I found the techno/trance music annoying, especially since it was blaring in my ears.

I actually kinda like this place despite the reviews below. Their food is tasty, especially the sweet potato fries!!!!! I'm not too crazy about their soy sauce garlic edemame though, kinda salty. Otherwise, everything else on the menu like the burger sliders and the ahi tuna salad are gooood.
They have live jazz Wednesday and Sunday nights. The guys play some really good soulful funk jazz. I go there more so for the live music than anything else, really.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jorge M.Covina, CA402195131Jul 26, 2010
Happy Hour is a MUST!!! Good deals! Great Food! Our server was Britney (I hope I spelled it right) and she was outstanding! I love the red sangria, not too hot on the white sangria (Capri Sun Anyone?)
The Mac & Cheese and the Sweet Potato fries were my favorite! When i went there with a few friends we ordered EVERYTHING on the Happy Hour menu.
The portion sizes were just right for a group of 4-5. However, I was starving that day and ate most of it. Easily one of my favorite places in Downtown Pasadena.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniel M.Culver City, CA114551Feb 25, 2010
DEAD at 9:30 on a Troublesome Tuesday.
We tried:
Sliders 3/5
garlic & sweet potato fries 4/5
Fish Tacos 3/5
The house beer on tap is not bad. And they make a mean makers and splash of coke.
Spot #3 of the CC game. Bill was around $160 including T&T so we decided to split it between two cards. By this time there were only 3 cards left. (if you lose, we take ur card out of the pot) Luckily i was NOT THE WEINER! But then again the next round would be on me no matter where we go.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Maria A.Washington, DC4722897Dec 27, 2010
Came for dinner last week, made reservations, but didn't really need them. It wasn't crowded at all.
Decided to order a lot of appetizers and share.
-Hummus and pita- yummy
-Sweet Potato Fries- good too, although there was a couple spicy/gross chunks of seasoning that found their way to my friend's mouth.
-Spanakopita was all spinach- needed more cheese/flavor.
-Mac and cheese- gross. No flavor. Pasta was too big, etc.
Service was stellar. Our waiter was very nice.
I wanna come back for the bar, a little later.
3 of the 4 stars are for the music. Amaaaaaazing music. I had to ask our waiter for the name of a couple of songs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nisha B.Redondo Beach, CA18286285Sep 21, 2009
Sat night, downtown Pasadena crowded as usual! We get here at about 8.30 pm and are seated immediately. I loved the low-ish seating and the dim-mish lighting but the music was way way way too loud (ish?).
Having said that a couple of things to note:
1. Portions are NOT that small like other lounges. So don't over order.
2. The service is fantastic!!
3. Its not that cheap. We spent about $180 for 3 people with drinks.
4. Do not order the Edamame-- it will create a big mess!
Loved the clams/mussels etc in this sauce. The menu on the website and the menu in the restaurant are slightly different. The sweet potato fries are very good too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - E B.Granada Hills, CA761339Dec 30, 2009
I came here on a Monday night because I was in old town & had a restaurant.com coupon... it was totally empty so we went right to the back patio & sat next to one of the fire pit (seriously, how great are fire pits?). The tables were a little awkward to eat off of, but it was plenty warm & cozy & the atmosphere was pretty cool too (very dark, smooth & modern). I'd never have guessed this place is all the way back in that ally!
The cocktails they had on their menu are different from the ones on their website: I had a peach schnapps & gingerale drink that was so good I had another & my bf had a jack, lemonade, sprite, simple syrup concoction that was also pretty well mixed. He had another blue drink that I didn't try & can't comment on, but he seemed pretty happy with it... at $12 a pop it's a little pricey in my book, but it was happy hour so the drinks were half off.
We both had the grilled cheese (Brie, Truffle Pecorino, Fig Jam Served with Wild Arugula Salad- $11) which was AMAZINGLY GOOD! Everything about this dish was perfect... from the sweet jam in the sharp cheeses to the spicy arugula salad... A+. We also got the fries/sweet potato fries appetizer ($8) which was also really good (personally preferred the sweet potato fries to the regular fries if I had to choose one). The portions were pretty large & we both left stuffed.
The waitress was nice & attentive, but not overbearing and the only thing that was a little weird was how empty the place was... but I'll chalk that up to it being a Monday.
Another thing to note is that if you use a restaurant.com coupon, they only accept cash.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - T O.Plano, TX157641500Sep 7, 2008
You can add Neomeze into your list of local restaurants & bars now for its delicious food/drinks and different DJs spinning an array of tunes. For appetizers, I ordered sweet potato fries and mussels and fries (so good that I had to get a second...eek!) For entree, I opted for the crispy Salmon, another successful dish. And to top the evening off, service was excellent. Overall, Neomeze is worth the price.
P.S. The place is a bit hard to find since the numbers on the street do not go in order. So if you're standing in front of Cheese Cake Factory looking to the other side of the street, Neomeze would be on your left hand side. The sign is in black and orange with very small font. I hope you find it with ease :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Karina H.Arcadia, CA16919Dec 27, 2010
This place was great! Went on a Tuesday with some friends for their happy hour special. They have happy hour prices all day on Tuesdays. Ordered one of their $15 pitchers of sangria and most of their happy hour appetizers. They ran out of white wine sangria so we had to try their red one. I was disappointed about not being able to try the white wine sangria, but to my delight the red sangria was sweet and refreshing. The food was delicious! The sweet potato fries were amazing! The Luleh sliders (tiny burgers) were probably my favorite! The chicken pizza was pretty big for an appetizer. The spinakopita was very soft and tasty and our calamari was good. The place had a live DJ and seemed to draw a fun crowd. Overall, great place to hang out and have a drink. I will definitely go back!

I am not a big Pasadena clubbing person, so my review is for the food and Wednesday Jazz night.
Neo-Meze showed me a few surprises:
*First, for a lounge bar, the food was actually quite good!
*Sweet Potato fries with aioli were nearly perfect. I usually like them in thick cut, but Neo's thin long cut version seemed to be crispier. Excellent balance of sweet and salty.
*Also highly recommend steamed shellfish in coconut-lemograss broth.
*We also had pulled pork, chipotle chicken, and the slider burger, all pretty good.
*Seared Albacore Tune with celery poppy seed slaw: This was bad, the tuna wasn't very fresh, and the slaw was a bit too sweet for the dish.
*Steak Frites: also mediocre. Steak was also marinated a little too sweet.
*The 2nd surprise... well, the martini, the cocktails and sangria were all surprisingly weak! They do have a good draft beer selection. So, stick to beer or wine.
*The DJ music was... a little annoying, but the jazz band was awesome.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
