I have studied various Martial arts much of my adult life! After moving to Lake Jackson, I found Nei Wai Chia Martial Arts Academy! Kung Fu and Tai Chi afforded me so much new material to learn and practice! From Traditional Chinese Arts, to Self Defense, Iron Palm, and Healing Arts, I was hooked! It has been 10 years and I am still excited about what I have yet to learn! Another benefit is that I have found a supportive second family who encourages me to be the best I can be! I look forward to many more years of growth and encourage others to join our family group!

I can only speak about my own experience. If you have a child with special needs you might want to consider other options. My husband, daughter, and 3 grandchildren ages 17, 9 and 7 all joined this Martial Arts Studio. The two young grandchildren (7 yr old grandson has high functioning Autism) were in the children's class on a separate night. Our grandson who is definitely a talker kept talking in class. Sigung who is also the owner put him in a Full Horse stance...Nothing wrong with that, however, he kept on talking. Sigung instructed the other children in the class that each time our grandson talked, to slap him in the face, which they did. When he tried to defend himself they slapped him harder. His 9 yr old sister was in the class and was completely horrified at what was happening to her younger brother and was not sure what to do to stop the abuse. Sigung completely ruined this 7 yr old. He LOVED the Martial Arts, but after this incident he won't have anything to do with it even in a different Martial Arts studio. His mind ruminates that this is a "rule" in any Martial Arts class. I understand the talking is disruptive to the rest of the class, but he should have been made to run laps or do push-ups. NOT be physically assaulted by other children in the class at the instruction and approval of the Sigung. We met with him to discuss, he first denied he gave this instruction. When we told him that both our grandson and granddaughter told us this happened, he indicated he should have stopped it. We did tell him at this point we are no longer able to attend classes and simply want him to stop the payments, which he did not. This man has no business teaching children and no business ethics as far as I am concerned. The rest of the instructors are excellent. Our family were no longer comfortable with continuing with this class. And someone else mentioned that he doesn't give the signed contract to his clients and that is our experience as well.

I have heard how he cheats his customers, and sometimes he waits a half hour before starting class. Does not teach anything new and never gives a contract to a client. Also gives belts to people when they don't know anything.
