Second trip in a couple of weeks with no cars. Last time waited over 30 mins, this time almost as long. Terrible service for a car rental company.

These guys don't understand how reservations work. A 2.5 hour wait for a car that was reserved 4 days ago. Don't go to National or Enterprises here at MOB. These guys are idiots. This place is poorly managed. The Hurtz/ dollar / thrifty counter has no waiting! The Alamo counter has no waiting! The Avis/ Budget counter has no waiting! Go anywhere but National and Enterprise when renting a car from MOB.

The entire staff year, especially people, like Tish, or why I continue to do business with National. They are always prompt, prepared and polite. I really appreciate the positive attitudes and extra help. Every time I come by to rent a car, which is about once a month.

Really warm and accommodating, went out of her way to not just dial it in, but offer excellent service.

What do you mean, no Emerald Isle where I can just walk out to the parking lot, pick a car, and my keys are already on the dash?
Yes, I'm spoiled-- #1stWorld (and "tiny dancer" airport) problems.
Extra convenience aside, National MOB has been pretty great. The southern drawl at the customer service desk is STRONG here, service is fast and friendly, and my reservations are usually prepared and waiting for me upon arrival. The car selection is usually great also, and I have not had a single issue with the cleanliness of the vehicles. (praying this continues and I didn't just jinx myself)

Booked a car on Priceline and got here within 30 minutes to pick up the car. Had to wait 40 minutes for my car because there was only one person in the back cleaning the cars etc. I feel bad for the girl at customer service because she was alone and also handling Alamo rentals because that desk was empty. She better be getting a raise because she did a great job all by herself!!! I'm sad I had to wait so long but she got me in my car!

Have over 300 rentals over last 5-6 years. 120 days in 2018 alone at end of July. This was next to worst experience ever. Arrived 2-1/2 hours early for reservation - 2 ladies at counter claimed couldn't not provide a car until 2pm set rental time, due to 3 flights arriving between 11:30 -12:30pm. Walked outside and made a new reservation for noon. Walked back inside to sign contract and be told would have to wait. ZERO customers have picked up at counter during 30 minute waiting period. During pr chess walked outside to see many cars in lot. Rented a full-size, so it is not like other options are not open or lack of availability. Only 2 other customers at all during this period.
After 55 minutes - a guy walks up and gets a standard SUV. They apparently penalize one way rentals. Over an hour and they are apparently going to clean a car and have it ready in 10 minutes. Claiming when a customer changes reservation it's hard but they try to accommodate.

Made the switch for most of my rentals from Hertz to National. So far, I haven't really been disappointed. National's cars have been cleaner, lower mileaged, and overall a better selection than Hertz for my rentals in the Mobile area. The National lot is directly across from the baggage claim at the airport, dropping off the car or picking it up adds a few minutes at most... no bus to a rental center to deal with.
I'm not particularly impressed with National's reward program, but that's not an indictment of this particular location. The desk staff at this location quickly recognize repeat customers and are friendly and well trained. While they do their job and offer paid upgrades each time that I have to decline due to being on company travel, I've never been displeased with the vehicles I've gotten. Renting an intermediate as an emeral elite gets you a free upgrade to full size, and just a handful of recent rentals have been: Chevy Captiva, Traverse, Ford Fusion, Chrysler 300, Mustang, and GMC Acadia. Most of these are actually a higher class than full size, and it seems like they are frequently out of full size so they give out the next highest class available.
I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 because this location does have some issues with their stock and availability. There have been a few times in the past couple of months where I have had to wait up to 15 - 20 minutes upon arrival to get a vehicle. I've never been turned away, and the wait is usually minimal as their service crew gets returned cars cleaned and made ready for rental, but after 6 - 8 hours of travel from CT to AL, even an extra 15 minutes can feel like an eternity.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jim V.O'Fallon, MO083129Feb 13, 2018
