Even a jaded car nut like me can learn some new things at this fantastic museum.
I really enjoyed the quirky, off beat and one-off cars like the 1938 Phantom Corsair which has to rank as one of the most sinister looking cars of all time.
A great way to spend an afternoon in Reno!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 30, 2023
Very cool collection of vintage autos and stuff representing a bygone era! If you are a car buff, know one or just want to kill a couple hours in a really cool way stop in here!
So many gorgeous vintage vehicles!
It's amazing how cool this is! Complete with some authentic store front and garage displays! There is also a theatre showing some historic car themed information!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alby P.Los Angeles, CA151873170Apr 14, 2024
Nothing like the Harrah's museum it replaces. Not even a shadow of it.
Lacks diversity and energy lick the museum the old man ran.
Some cars from various eras,, that's about it. A few unique.
Nice people run it, clean, some vehicles that may pique your interest but you're done in 45 minutes.
Don't think we'd ever visit it again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 8, 2024
Gayle and I were here the other evening to attend The Nevada Independent for IndyTalks: A conversation with Governor Joe Lombardo. Gayle and I enjoyed the format, learned more about our Governor, and confirmed the politician's skill for talking a lot, but not really saying anything.
The event was on a stage set up in Gallery 4, while the audience of around 300 sat around various tables in groups of 8. We were comfortable, had decent sight lines to the stage and projections screens, and sat in the back so we could leave early (which we did). Outside parking was free, but limited. However, street parking was close and an easy walk in (and past a small group of housing advocate protesters). I left wondering of Michael T. had ever tried to stage a Yelp Elite event here, as there's plenty of room within the multitude of very cool cards.
The big bonus from this event was having almost total access to the Museum. We didn't even know this place existed before, and what a pleasant surprise it was. Gayle and I probably had about 45 minutes between checking in and sitting down, and we used every minute of it to admire this multi-slice version of automotive history. My 95 year-old Dad is a car buff, and he would just love this place.
Individual memberships start at $40, although the Museum was hawking special $1000 levels at the event, thinking that there were more than a few "Whales" in the audience. Gayle and I will be back, most likely with out-of-town friends in tow. There's lots of shiny object here and about an hour here should do it for a decent walk-through with stops. However, if you're a true believer, it will take much longer, with docents who are as excited and knowledgeable as you might be.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Valie K.San Diego, CA279296Mar 30, 2024
This is one of my favorite museums in Reno and I never considered myself a car enthusiast. They have rotating exhibits and also one of the best collections of classic cars and Hollywood glam. The docents are always so friendly and knowledgeable. Bonus they have a FREE yes free photo station you can text and email pics. Pay and you can dress up and sit in a vintage vehicle.

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to visit the National Automotive Museum, and here is a hot tip; if you are a Washoe County library card holder, you can download a 2 for 1 admission discount through "Discover and Go" on the library site.
Came here on a weekday and it was mildly busy. The exhibit is mainly cars donated by Harrah's Casino (Bill Harrah). The cars are old, but pristine. Amazing restoration and maintenance.
I have lived in Northern Nevada since 2006 and have wanted to vit the museum for some time now. It is a big win. 4 large rooms full of cars. There is a gift shop for swag. You can spend a half a day or maybe more browsing the cars. If you want to take a break and leave for lunch, you can also return to view the rest of the exhibit.
Even without a discount. Tickets are reasonable and the staff is very helpful!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 42158259Sep 9, 20234 check-ins
What an awesome museum to have right here in Reno! I purchased a Groupon for an annual membership and am so glad I did. I already can't wait to come back!
The museum is divided into five galleries that have different types of cars, including really old cars and more modern ones. One gallery is dedicated to "famous cars" (aka cars that starred in movies) and another is a rotating gallery. There is also a Tesla semi-truck on display!
It was so cool to see all the vintage cars (I'm talking some of the first models from each manufacturer and cars that have been around since the early 1900s). I was so impressed with how well these cars have been maintained.
The volunteers at the museum were also very knowledgeable and friendly. They provided us with lots of background knowledge on several of the cars.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time at the National Automobile Museum and am looking forward to my next visit!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 12, 2023
This was my second time visiting the National Auto Museum, both times I brought the kids and they love this place. We meandered around the multiple car timezones and the kids got to see calls from all periods of time. The movie cars and race cars are always a winner. We watched the video in the movie theater but didn't last long. The highlight of the trip was the only car you can touch, they loved that thing!
If you need something to do for an hour or so the auto museum is a great place to check out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 6, 2023
People are just happy to be here! The front desk couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. They let us know about the pink Barbie car set up in the gift shop for photo ops, as well as cold drinks for sale. We had three generations in our group, everybody seemed very interested in all the cool cars, and it is wheelchair friendly!

Great place to visit whether you are a car enthusiast or not. Historic cars and those that represent movies. Volunteers are so knowledgeable and enjoy being there. The museum recently built a patio area which is perfect to host events. Being a non-profit establishment, they care for our community and hosting a winter coat and blanket for another organization, Good Shepherd's Clothes closet. I will return on Oct 14 and bring blankets and coats for this donation event. I learned that by bringing donations of coat and/or blanket, you can get a half-price ticket.

What a little gem! If you have family in town and are looking for something to do, definitely check this place out! We spent about two hours here, it's a lot bigger than it seems. The first gallery starts off with cars from the early 1900's and then each gallery progresses through a few decades. Every car has a little history card in front of it, explaining how/why it was designed and how it effected the evolution of the car industry. There's also of course the gallery that has famous cars in it, cars that were in movies or driven by famous people. We brought my grandparents here who had a fun time walking down memory lane. My brother was in an accident recently and he's temporarily wheelchair bound and had no problem getting around the museum. If you're into cars, or are just looking to kill a few hours, I would definitely come here.
