Napa of Lubbock

Went in to ask how much gear oil to use in a 1977 Dodge truck, manual transmission. was told it used automatic transmission fluid. I told them it did not, and they told me I was wrong. I still have the owners manual, it says, 80-90 weight gear oil! These people have no idea what they are doing. If I put ATF in that transmission it would burn up. Do you think NAPA would pay to replace it? I don't think so.

Factual account (tried not to give too much personal opinion): Called for part and gave all info on car. They said it needed to be ordered and I had to pre-pay. Went in on Friday to pay. As they were doing their thing on the computer, I asked if it could be returned if it didn't fit. Was told I would have to pay shipping and 20% restock fee. Since I was only going on trust that they ordered the right part, I told them to cancel the order. Shipping was only slightly less than the part. They said they couldn't cancel, but would waive restock fee. I was told 2 days to receive it. I asked if they were open Sunday, and they said no. So I said, "Then it will be Monday?" He said, "Yes." It wasn't there Monday, and they said Friday orders come in on Tuesday, acting as if I never asked about Monday. I'm only visiting Lubbock and have to go back, on Tuesday. When I told them this and asked if it would be here,Tuesday, the answer was, "I hope."
UPDATE: I called on Tuesday, but part not in. Relayed that I needed to go ahead and get refund, due to finding out grandbaby was taken to hospital, and I had to get home. Don't know if it was that or because I fussed, but I was given a full refund, including shipping. Giving credit where it's due.
