About the Business
Naisa has the best Asian food that i have had in my entire life. Since experiencing Naisa, I no longer take any joy in eating the local take-out.

We went there on a night with a Winter Weather Warning, so they weren't very busy, which was fortunate because they were also short staffed because of the roads. It seemed like our server was the only one present, but she was friendly and made sure that our orders were taken promptly, our drinks stayed full, and that our check was split correctly - all of which was appreciated.
The food itself was very tasty. The menu was about what you'd expect at this type of restaurant, but they made the dishes well. Nothing is super fancy or trendy, but it's a good place if you're craving this type of food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 3, 2017
Finally visited this establishment after being bookmarked for awhile now. The restaurant was smaller than I thought, but I liked the cozy atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful although a bit slow. Our waiter brought out "wonton chips" with our order of egg rolls and he thoroughly explained the two sauces that came with. The egg rolls were good, but comparable to other egg rolls I've had before.
We ordered mapo tofu and spicy garlic pork to share. The mapo tofu was definitely unlike any mapo tofu I've had at other restaurants so I was confused and not really into their version. The tofu were in large chunks and there was not much sauce, but a ton of cilantro on top. We asked for extra spicy but it lacked any extra spice or flavor. It was still....good, but should maybe be named something else because it definitely wasn't mapo tofu.
I love family owned eateries but I can't really rave about this one like others have. But I can't speak for everyone, so give Naisa a try and maybe you'll find something you'll enjoy. As for me, I'll check out the many other restaurants that Fountain Square has to offer.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Kelly P.Las Vegas, NV169381383Dec 20, 2017

I've been wanting to visit this place for a while now but it always seems to be closed when I want to go. My boyfriend suggested this place on a Saturday evening and since it was open I quickly agreed. When we entered the waitress was talking with patrons. After a few seconds (maybe a little longer) she told us to sit wherever. After ordering water we mentioned that it was our first time there and she gave a quick overview of the menu. There were a lot of items that looked tasty but I ended up going for the Singapore rice noodle dish and my bf got the General Tso's chicken.
I liked my Singapore rice noodles, they were definitely different and had a unique taste. It's definitely not for everyone. I thought he General Tso's was full of flavor. My bf always gets that and he said it was really good as well. His only qualm was that he ordered hot plus one and it wasn't very spicy. It was mildly spicy to me. I got my noodles at standard and I didn't think they were spicy either.
Our waitress was pretty attentive but we were the only people in the restaurant. I put any awkwardness down to cultural differences. We got complimentary wonton chips and dip while waiting as well. Overall I think the food is valued really well for the sizes and flavor.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 16, 2016
This place is 5 star all day.
The food is fantastic.
The prices are spot on.
There is an all white meat option for entrees for an extra buck.
So I have eaten all over the US and I grew up a mere 30-40 min from Chinatown in NYC.
So a five star review should say a lot.
The hot and sour soup is perfect for the everyday Asian style eater. (Personally I like the Skype to be a little more pungent.)
Apparently the wonton soup is really good seeing my g/f got two orders.
The Kung pao chicken was very tasty but not much pow. I assume that's because it's made for the more tame pallet. Next time I come in and order I'll ask for a little more kick
The tangerine chicken was by far my favorite. I would order that on the daily.
Now let me talk about the woman here running the dining area. I can't say anything but good things about her. She was very sweet and funny and provided great attention to all the customers.
Hopefully during the dinner hours she has an extra set of hands to handle the flow of customers.
This place was also recently renovated. Idk what it looked like before but I love it.
It's Cozy.
It's a little tiny.
But just be early. I was here at 12.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4988282923253Jul 17, 2017Updated review
I sooo wish the service and atmosphere matched the amazing food housed in this business. About two out of every three times I visit Naisa I leave thinking "that was an awkward interaction" or "I really wished they'd turn up the music a bit to make up for the dead silence." We can't get enough of the refreshing wonton soup and veggie dumplings. Truly, all of the food is fantastic but it leaves you always wanting to defer to carry out to avoid the unfriendly customer service and stale atmosphere. Two simple fixes to bring this place to life.

My favorite part about this business (hands-down) is the fact that they deliver their tasty goodness to your door with a reasonable minimum purchase cost (assuming you live in the downtown ballpark).
I had walked by Naisa ("Asian" spelled backwards, in case if you were wondering) a zillion times before realizing it was even there. Conveniently located along the Cultural Trail, Naisa is one of those quiet but lethally good businesses. If you're a fan of classic greasy Chinese carry-out wonton soup, I recommend giving Naisa's a whirl for the refreshing and lighter version of this dumpling and scallion soup.
I'm reserving the fourth star for two reasons: 1.) maybe it's just my luck but it tends to be eerily quiet when I'm dining in. Maybe some background music - and if the music is already there and I'm missing it - crank it? I can practically hear my heartbeat in there. 2.) They are often closed for long and unexpected periods of time. Just when I pick up the phone to dial in and order....BAM! They're nowhere to be found. - 118185808Jul 22, 2018
It was pretty, fresh, and presentable, but bland. Excellent service. Soy sauce was not helping. Definitely a date spot for a quiet dinner and drinks. Maybe it was just me, but compared to other take out Chinese spots around Indianapolis the food was flavorless. And pricey, but they do give you a nice portion.

Why do I love Chinese food? Umami sauces, fried rice, stir-fried vegetables, pillowy tofu, huge portions...I'm definitely not in any sort of health-conscious mentality when I'm craving this cuisine. Let's be honest: you're not getting carry-out for some steamed vegetables and rice, are you?
Naisa is the option everyone should choose when opting for Pan Asian in Indy. Yes, you get your heaping portions, umami sauces, fried fixings, and pillowy tofu, but it's all homemade and from scratch here...FTW!
I was lucky enough to join up with some Yelpers for Liz S's UYE, and our communal table enjoyed seafood wontons and three kinds of dumplings, all of which were fabulous. Per Heather H.'s recommendation, I ordered the vegetarian rice noodles with tofu. I was delighted when my bowl was placed in front of me. My overflowing pile of rice noodles, tofu, bamboo, napa cabbage, and broccoli could have generously fed two people. I was quite satisfied with my selection from every twirl of rice noodles around my fork to biting down on a sauce-saturated piece of tofu. Best of all, I didn't have that dreaded overstuffed feeling some of us may get after enjoying (too-much) Chinese fare.
From here on out, I know where I'll be bringing my business, knowing the made-from-scratch TLC that goes into Naisa's food!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Feb 22, 2018
After flying into Indianapolis we were starving. I wanted Chinese food, but coming from California where there are TONS of great Chinese food restaurants we were a little apprehensive. Well thanks to my fellow yelpers and GPS we found Naisa. A great spot in the Fountain Square area.
The restaurant is clean and has a calm vibe. There were two servers ours was Darvin he was nice and friendly, and gave us a recommendation for another place for burgers (Kumas Corner-review coming soon). We started with hot tea. They had a selection, not just house. So I opted for the Jasmine. We then had wonton soup. It was excellent, a nice clean broth with excellent chicken wontons. No filmy oil on top, just great flavor. We then ordered combination chow mien. Now that was completely different than what I am used to. The noodle was a thin noodle, not an egg noodle. It was yummy, although reminiscent of an Italian noodle. It was flavorful with cilantro and other thinly sliced veggies. Not your run of the meal chow mien, but delicious. We also ordered the tangerine shrimp. It was good a little too tangy for me, but my husband enjoyed it.
We will be back again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 30, 2017
I will say this - for someone who hadn't previously considered wonton soup as a star on the menu, this place has some really freakin good wonton soup. The broth looks weak and clear, but just give it a sip. It's full, flavorful, salty, hot, and feels so good for you. Those yellow crispy things? What are they, some weak-ass appetizer? No. Put those in with the broth. Do it now. So good.
Next: order all the dumplings. Pan fried. You're welcome.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
