Okay, this place is the BEST. I had a craving for cinnamon rolls at 7pm on Saturday night, and lucky for me, Munchies is open late night weekends only. I ordered their 4-pack of cinnamon rolls and was not disappointed - I actually think these might be the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had! They were HUGE - when I first saw them I thought there was no way I could eat an entire roll by myself, but I quickly proved myself wrong.

The rolls had the perfect texture and taste - fluffy, warm, moist, not too sweet. There was a ton of frosting on top of them which made me worried at first, because sometimes the frosting can be sickly sweet on cinnamon rolls. Munchies has perfected the flavor of the frosting - it was the perfect amount of sweetness without being too much. I ate an entire roll in one sitting.

I can't wait to come back on the weekends to explore more of the menu! I've heard great things about the guava cake and was excited to see a couple of vegan options on the menu as well. Looking forward to coming back here to satiate my sweet tooth!

Nothing in the WORLD makes me more happy, than delicious pastries and supporting my fellow islander small business owners. Munchies-SLC, is a great little shop, in the Mill Creek neighborhood, packed with tons and tons if great desserts, that stay open LATE! Yes, until 11pm! Grateful that my #bestfoodiebetches occasionally pry me out of my house, to find SLC's best eats! Currently, they're only taking phone orders. They are as sweet, as their treats and are fast about bringing your orders out! Their menu also rotates, so keep an eye out for their latest available desserts! I'm sure you'll become as big of fans, as we are!!!

I just really want them to have a seating area so that we can talk amongst each other and keep buying more of their goodies! ;D

Was a bit of a drive to get there, but order in advance for takeout. So worth it!

You could lump Munchies SLC in with the myriad other cookie delivery services in the area, but you would be doing both them and yourself a disservice. Sure, they have the standard cookies (vegan ones, too!), but they also offer many other treats, some of which far outshine cookies. These goodies aren't fancy - they are homey and homemade and deeelicious!

Munchies is only open 7pm-12am, and since I am not in this area too often during that time frame, when on the way home from a late downtown dinner, adjusted my route so I would conveniently drive by (insert smirky emoji here).

Housed in an unassuming brick building, I nearly passed them, but right at the last minute, swerved into the gas station just south. Munchies unfortunately only has parking for three cars, so I parked there. I didn't get towed and I'm not saying follow my bad example, but also...what other choice did I have? Whatever you do, don't park in the lot on the opposite side as they had a sign stating you WILL be towed.

I was greeted as soon as I entered, and while there was only one fellow at the front, he was as quick as he could be. They prepare treats as they are ordered, so there is a wait (about ten minutes on my visit). I'm generally not an advocate of food delivery, however considering the wait, and the fact that none of their products are served warm, I think this would be a situation were it makes sense.

I opted for the sampler (a steal at $7.50 for a cookie, brownie, and whoopie pie), and the monthly special: cookies 'n cream filled cream puff for $2.50.

Chocolate chip cookie - Huge (6.5 ounces!), crispy edged with a soft par-baked interior. Though not warm, fresh baked as the chocolate was still runny and not yet set. Would be perfection except instead of using only semi-sweet chips they mixed in milk chocolate. I hate milk chocolate! I know some people prefer it so maybe offer both varieties? But for heavens sake don't commit the sacrilege of mixing 'em!

Brownie - Basic, fudgy brownie, with a crisp top, and melty chocolate glaze. I would love if it were a dark, richer chocolate, but that's nit picky and I liked it just fine.

Whoopie pie - Not sure if it's always red velvet, but that's what I got. The filling was cream cheese, not too sweet, with the consistency of marshmallow cream. My husband really loved this.

Cookies 'n cream cream puff - No need to be relegated to a fancy French patisserie, they were made very well here (do wish they were a tad less soft), with a filling reminiscent of dirt cake. Yasss. Can't believe this is just a seasonal offering!

They also make cinnamon rolls (both standard and vegan), vegan cookies, and lastly, are well known for their guava cake. It is attractively layered in a cup, and looked so lovely, but I haven't enjoyed previous iterations of guava cake, so passed. Based on the success of what I had on this visit, I think I will try one next time! Beverage-wise, there are a few varieties of milk or water. My receipt advertised on Wednesdays and Thursdays they do repeats of old specials, so that's worth noting and and checking out.

Everything is so cheap, especially considering the generous size, and goodies appear to be (or at least taste) very homemade and not full of artificial ingredients and junk. Employees were all friendly and gracious. There were a few other customers waiting on orders, and everyone was so cheery. It felt like a nice place to be and had a great vibe.

I'm only sad it took me too long to get here. In looking at photos of past treats that were on the menu, it looks like I missed a coconut roll in January. That makes me sad.

We drove past this place TWICE looking for it. Just know that it's just north of the gas station, and there's only like two or three parking spots out front. It's a tiny little hole in the wall, easy to miss. But DON'T MISS IT.

We got the sample box with a whoopie pie, chocolate chip cookie, and ganache frosted brownie. My boyfriend also got the guava cake per the suggestion of other enthusiastic customers. He loved it. I'm not a fruity dessert person, or a mushy cake person. Sorry to be a killjoy. I'm just not the one to ask about those things.

But I CAN speak to the rest of the food. It warrants mentioning that Munchies was my favorite chocolate chip cookie at the Cookie Taste-Off recently--outscoring Goodly, Crumbl, Ruby Snap, and others. A second tasting of this cookie confirmed my choice: best chocolate chip cookie.

I am not a brownie enthusiast. They're fine, but not my choice of dessert. I usually don't like the texture--too fudgy, or hard edges, and just not my favorite thing. But holy cow. This brownie. It was a game changer. I would definitely get it again. The frosting was an excellent touch--not too much, but really solidified its goodness.

The whoopie pie though. I don't even eat whoopie pies. But this one is red velvet, and man, the texture of this thing was out of this world. The cream cheese frosting in the middle? Also delicious, because who doesn't love cream cheese frosting? Definitely a winner.

Just a fun tidbit: A gentleman sitting and waiting behind us was waiting for vegan cookies to bake. He said he's not even vegan, and he thinks the cookies are amazing--better than the regular.

So, I'm not sure if this place can do anything wrong. I'll keep going back to find out. And will have to make sure I run all the miles first. Happy desserting!

If this place doesn't overwhelm your sweet tooth, I don't know what will.
I was surprised that Munchies had such limited hours, but after visiting them...I get it. You don't need to have good hours when you are famous AND delicious.

After "sampling" an unhealthy amount of desserts, I've come to the conclusion that anything you order here will likely be tasty and worth buying twice. My only complaint would be that everything is WAY sugary. Caramel bars, cream puffs, cinnamon roll- great but headache-inducing for sure haha.
I actually liked the guava cake the most because there is some cake to break up the incredible frosting and guava glaze. This is probably the most survivable item for anyone that can't do super-sugary desserts.

Look at this stuff, isn't it neat? Finish the song.

Omg how do I start this.......
We went in looking for some dessert after having Mexican Food for dinner. It was hubby's birthday so we HAD to find something sweet to celebrate !

Starting with Mom's Chocolate Birthday cake (cake of the month along with pumpkin cake) what a wonderful light not too sweet chocolate cake with a decadent chocolate frosting again not too sweet. It's just the perfect birthday cake after a heavy meal. A judge slice for $5 - worth every ounce!

Then guava cake- good with lots of guava flavor but a bit too sweet for me but I'm sure perfect for most. Sold in its own tub for $6.50.

We got the sampler box for $7.50 which includes 1 very large yummy chocolate chip cookie, a full size red velvet Whoopi pie and slice of dark chocolate brownie - it's a awesome deal filled with yummy goodie.

We will be back for more goodies - can't wait to try their cinnamon rolls!

No reason that this fine little dessert joint shouldn't get 5 stars. We got the sampler. Wow! Came with a lot more than I was anticipating. I was expecting just a small amount of each item. Nope- it was a full cinnamon roll, brownie, red velvet whoopie pie. Certainly didn't eat it all myself. Plenty to go around! I've gotta say - it was the best cinnamon roll I've ever had.

Also got the guava cake. It was very good. However, I probably wouldn't get it again. I mostly just got it cause I was curious. If you haven't had it I'd recommend trying it, though.

The wait was longer than I would have liked (maybe 15-20 minutes). But, overall it was great!

I'm a bit torn with my review. For my birthday, based on glowing reviews I've seen and heard of about the guava cake here, I asked my family to get me a large guava cake from Munchies. They obliged and it was absolutely delicious. We ate every last piece of the cake. It was moist, the frosting was delicious. It was truly unique and everything I could have wanted from a cake.

My mom liked it so much she asked for the same cake for her birthday. We ordered her a large guava cake and it was one of the driest cakes we've ever had in our lives. We were really sad and disappointed. I'm not sure if they had baked the cake a week before and had it sitting around to use, or if whoever made it was new, but regardless, it was bad. It was embarrassing to give to my mom who had been so excited about and craving that cake. We couldn't eat it.

I'm giving 2 stars because the first cake was 5-star worthy, but the second cake was honestly 0 star worthy.

From the reviews here, it sounds like you can't go wrong with the small guava cakes, so I HIGHLY recommend going to try one of those. For the large cake orders, I'd be hesitant to recommend that given my experience.

Completely unremarkable. 5 stars from the Jr Hi crowd tricked me? Feel rude saying this but bring honest: Cookies a la Pre-made: Flat. Crunchy outside rim then softer middle. Below average cinnamon bun mostly dough, undefined dough. Brownie was whatever.
