Got a drink here with a friend on a Wednesday evening. There was plenty of room, and the music was blasting loudly. I was surprised that draft beers were $11-12 for the pour size, but maybe that's what it's like in Venice. It was nice to see some local craft beers, though.

Nice mood lighting. Brings the classiness of the place up a notch.

"Came too soon to The Otherroom"

I arrived at 4:30 on a Saturday and was greeting by the strong smell of kerosene emanating from the mini lamps lighting every crevice of the otherwise dark bar.

Tired from my travels, I came looking for refreshment in the form of...alcohol. Limited by the strictly wine and beer selection, and confused by the random selection of items that had prices, I decided to try my hand at the special: "Sangria $10". Sure it was more than any other place in the area, but I figured it'd be less risky than ordering another drink only to get surprised by sticker shock later since none of the beers had prices.

The barkeep has just finished hauling in a load of ice over his shoulder and stopped to take my order. "2 sangrias", I said as he acknowledged the request and proceeded to reach into a lower shelf for a bottle of...

IT WAS A TWIST TOP BOTTLE LABELED "Sangria"! Like the kind you get at Costco. No fruit soaked wine, or even pieces of fruit. Just a small pour from a bottle that you can buy from $6 down the street.

Ok fine the drinks are lame, the prices are high, and the selection isn't anything to write home about. So what makes this place decent then? The location, the size, and the ambience. I came here when it was empty but this place fills up at night and I can see why. There's a lot of space and plenty of places to sit. If you even get a bucket of ice if you order a bottle (Table Service!).

Don't come here expecting a drink, but stop by if you're looking to meet up with friends.

Protip: buy your own bottle of sangria and drink it at home before you come.

Came here with a group of people after brunch one day. During the day the bar is a chill place to hang out and grab a drink. Located right on Abbott Kinney, this has a great view of many boutique shops along the street.

My friends and I ordered some Micheladas and a Sake bottle to share. For 5 people it came out to $75 after tip which wasn't bad at all. I though the micheladas were pretty spicy but they tasted good.

I did not like the straws they used - for some reason the straws were shorter than the cup, so you would always have to pull the straw up with your fingers to drink from them. This was just plain weird.

Still had fun and would be willing to chill here again.

This little gem is my favorite place to grab a drink in Abbot Kinney. I jokingly refer to it as the "best introvert bar in Venice," because the vibe is so low key and welcoming.

There is always a stellar playlist, but it is still quiet enough to chat and have a decent conversation with friends. The interior is spacious and yet cozy at the same time, with large glass windows that open up onto Abbot Kinney and facilitate great people watching. At night, they turn on candles and the place has a pleasant sort of romantic glow.

The beer selection is local and affordable, and the bartenders tend to be affable. I always sample a few different beers before deciding on my drink selection for the night.

I've only come here for drinking during the day.

They have big old boothy benches to sit on and giant windows that let you enjoy the beachy vibe although the bar itself is really dark.

I always have a good time here and it's one of the few bars on Abbot Kinney.

We've been to The Other Room twice, both times using Travelzoo vouchers.

The first time was on a Sunday evening. We sat at the bar and chatted with the very friendly and cool bartender, Forrest. He answered all of our questions and gave us samples of everything.

The second visit was last night. We ordered an excellent bottle of wine and sat at a table before going to dinner.

I love the dark, very stylish and cool ambiance here, with floor-to-ceiling drapes that obscure the door. They play cool, loungy music here, that isn't too loud.

Both times we've been here, it has been very dead, but I understand that it gets very crowded late at night.

They sell only beer and wine here, no food; however, they're cool with you bringing in food to enjoy while you're there.

A very fun, cool, hip place to visit on Abbot-Kinney.

--LOCATION-- on Abbot Kinney, across from Blue Star donuts

      --PARKING-- street parking

--MENU-- beers, wine, champagne, some special drinks (sangria, Margarita, sake bomb)

The sake bomb was worth it! At the time of my visit, it was $10.

I got the Sour/tart beer and it totaled $11.. and it wasn't even a pint... Nice, crisp flavor with a decent alcohol percentage (6% ish?)

--SERVICE-- meh on a Saturday night about 9 PM

--SEATING-- lounge-like seating with plush benches around small tables

--ATMOSPHERE-- felt like I was inside a Hollister with how dim the whole place was. But it was enjoyable with the music in the background, large art pieces on the walls while still maintaining minimalism.

Good for kicking back with a small or medium crowd. If you want to have a chill date, this could be it. It's not a rowdy place.

---BATHROOM-- separate men and women's bathrooms; 2 stalls each
