Do not go to this doctor. Mortifying experience during annual GYN appt. 10 minute appt. Didn't ask 1 question (??!!?!). Laughed at me when explaining a medical concern. Asked sarcastically "Are you an expert in pap smears?" when I asked for one due to a medical issue. Asked me to make a SEPARATE appt for a pelvic exam (which is standard for annual GYN appt). Told me "I can not help you based on info you're giving me" and would not answer any questions I had on GYN medical concerns. When I asked what info I could give her to help, she said to make separate appt for each of concerns (PCOS, painful intercourse, painful periods).

I ADORE Dr. Datta. She has been my GYN for over 3 years, and has performed a major laparoscopic surgery on me. She is extremely attentive and caring, always responding to my messages in the online portal (most of the time within hours). Dr. Datta listens to my concerns and is truly a huge part of my medical team. She is currently on maternity leave (as of Jan 2018), I hope she returns soon!

This place is filthy and worn, really dirty, scary dirty for a doctor's office.
On the initial visit Dr. Datta was getting over a cold and coughed on me during the ob/gyn exam (think about that and what I mean by coughed 'on me') ... 2nd visit - during a procedure, in a dirty, filthy room where they don't even change the plastic cover on the rolling light (gross because they touch that plastic with their gloves on) she coughed on me again - DURING THE EXAM. She might be a brilliant doctor but I couldn't get past the poor hygiene issue - I certainly wouldn't trust her to operate on me. This office also had an open urine sample sitting on the sink in the bathroom with a test strip laying over it. (with the patient's name written on it) The nurses also are not hygienic. I had to wait 30 min for my appointment - both times. On one bright note - the receptionist was friendly.

Please note I left this Manhattan hospital facility in 2013. I apologize I did not utilize Yelp at the time of this post. I aim to maintain a high standard of excellence and I'm sorry this was not an excellent patient experience. Thank you for this important feedback on your experience, anything short of a comfortable and pristine GYN visit is unacceptable.

Short version: Dr Datta got the job done. The office is dingy & dirty.
Long version: Dr Datta is pleasant. She spent a total of 5-10 minutes with me. That includes the obligatory verbal healthy screening and physical exam. I had noted on my intake that I had vaginal discharge, yet she never brought it up. It's my fault that I didn't press, but honestly I was ready to leave at that point.
Timeliness: I originally had an 6:15 appointment and I called to see if I could come in earlier. They said I could come at 4:45p. I arrived at 4:30. 5:00pm I was taken into a room and my blood pressure was taken. 5:20pm Dr Datta came in and took the verbal health screening. At 5:25 she told me to get undressed and put my gown on and that she would be right back. Twenty minutes later, at 5:40pm, she arrived back to perform my exam. By 5:45 we were finished with the exam and she told me the nurse would be in to take some blood. The nurse came in and found me changing into my dress and said she'd be back in 3 minutes. 10 minutes later she appeared and took my blood.
Cleanliness: This place is dirty and dingy. The lobby walls are dirty and scratched up and in some areas have actual water bubbles nearly as big as my outspread hand. The carpet is stained. There is actually a filing cabinet with no top casing! It's wide open! The Bathroom had no seat covers, the mirrors were peeling on the edges, wall were cracked and dirty (I could actually see the drywall!), and there was a clear garbage bag that held the urine sample bottles with a hole punched in the middle for 'easy access'. There was also a cup for magic markers on the beat up sink. The patient room I was in was just as dingy, with dirty walls and scratched up floors and peeling linoleum. A photocopy of an old calendar was taped on the wall plus a large Nuvo Ring poster was taped and STAPLED directly onto the wall. The worst was that there was a SteriGage on the floor and a cotton tipped applicator on the floor. No one ever picked it up while I was in there. What does that say about the standards of the staff?
With so many options in NYC-I urge you to go elsewhere. Save yourself the frustration I had to go through.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Not only is the wait time consistently between an hour to two hours, but the front staff and a few of the nurses are very rude and extremely unprofessional. By the time my fiancé and I actually get to see the doctor, I always feel like I'm being rushed out of there. Every time I ask a question she makes me feel like what I'm asking is stupid. She's also very sarcastic and makes a habit of talking down to people. I always hope that my next visit will be better than the last and chalk up her negative attitude to her having a bad day or an abundance of patients. She disappoints me each time. Spend the extra time to find a doctor that will treat you like a person and not an inconvenience!
