It's about time, the Lebanese Butcher shop in Falls Church has finally reopened their restaurant. It was closed after their old location's strip mall was closed after a fire. The butcher shop relocated down the street, but to a location too small for the restaurant. This is the result of what must be about 1 year since they closed the previous restaurant.
I'm happy they found a new store front and even decided to go big in what used to be the Majestic Nightclub. This location is near the intersection of Annandale and Route 50.
I sat outside on their patio, which is very pleasant during the summer. I was informed that they would close it up during the winter and get heaters out there to make that space available all year around for those who want to smoke. This setup would be similar to Tarbouch in Arlington.
Shisha is priced at $9.99, which is a pretty damn good price for NOVA. I suspect that this will be an introductory price until they build up some momentum. I'd like to be proven wrong.
Most of the food is priced under $7, which I feel is a good value, and the hummus is excellent. I had the hummus with chunks of meat, for $4.50. Excellent quality AND value!
Staff is super nice and the owner dropped by to ask how everything was going. I'd call this a win as long as they can keep prices reasonable and quality high. Good luck guys!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 25, 2011Previous reviewSince the fire that ruined their old digs, the Lebanse Butcher and Market has moved down the street from their original storefront. They currently only have the market and butcher shop, but have said that they expect to reopen their restaurant sometime in February or March 2011! Hip hip, hooray!
Apr 7, 2009Previous reviewI like this place a lot as I'm a fan of authentic spots. The halal butcher is right on with my experiences in North Africa, and the restaurant offers an interesting Mecca centric decor. The food is fast, inexpensive, and you get what you expect. They have a large menu, so if you're new to Mediterranean food, this is a good place to try several dishes and figure out what flavors you like. You won't regret coming here, and there is thankfully lots of parking.

A restaurant tucked off of 50, I think this place has one of the best kibbehs I've ever tasted! While the place itself is kind of weird (it seems as if the restaurant turns into a nightclub after hours, and/or people use this place as a banquet hall for occasions), the food themselves were pretty solid. Kibbehs are one of my favorite foods, and this place had it fried perfectly, and it held a great flavorful filling. Usually, kibbehs can be kind of bland (especially the buhlgur exterior), but it wasn't the case here. We tried other items such as the chicken and the beef shwarma, falafels, and their stuffed grapeleaves. One of the owners, this younger guy, was awesome and he always checked on us to make sure everything is great. I would definitely come back for the kibbehs if I ever have a craving.

This place is cool a real butcher shop, connected to the restaurant. The guy in the dining area was nice and do was the cashier.
I ordered chicken and lamb shwarma both were the best I ever had.I think I found my spot for shwarmas.
And I asked for some kind of sauce and the guy said the tahini sauce a whitish color was very good. Had fresh herbs inside was a plus.
I will be backHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lisa N.Fairfax, VA601472932Jul 11, 2012
Despite high ratings, Mount of Lebanon was empty on a weekday for lunch. We ordered the MIXED GRILLED COMBO which came with chicken, beef, lamb, tomatoes, onion, and rice. The combo was good and had great value for the price ($15).
(+)Cool halal juice bar, decently priced, plenty of seatingHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Heba E.Gaithersburg, MD1396820Feb 21, 2012Updated review
I was a little intimidated when I got there since I wasn't expecting a sit down, banquet type restaurant. The waiter who greeted me though was quick to put me at ease when he asked if I'd like to order for take out, handed me a menu and told me to have a seat.
That being said, I got the beef/ lamb shawerma, and even though it took some time to come out, it was DELICIOUS. Juicy, tender meat with amazing tahini sauce and a pickle tucked in pita bread, which seemed to add a perfect tang.
One of the best shawerma sandwiches I've ever had in my life, possibly even THE best, including Egypt!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 21, 2012Previous reviewI've been looking for a place that carries Goat meat in the DC area, and after much research, Google led me to the Lebanese Butcher. Just from the reviews, I knew I had to go there.
The moment I stepped in it was like being transported to a supermarket in Egypt. The layout, the products, oh my beloved middle eastern food, and of course, the Butcher.
They have every kind of meat in every cut imaginable at ridiculous prices! $7/ lb for goat, lamb and veal?!! And yes, the goat meat was extremely delicious!
I was also ecstatic to find they had Soujuk (a sort of spiced dried beef sausages) for $4/lb!. Grilled it at a bonfire potluck, was Heavenly! Can't wait to go back and stock up on meat. Oh and their pies!!
I also recommend the Lebanese pita bread (balady). Finally some authentic Pita bread, not like those awful, hard commercial ones you find at Giant or Whole Foods.
Even though it's a little bit out of ways for me, I will definitely be back... A lot. - Victoria E.Santa Barbara, CA9512091Mar 27, 2015
Came here for a Friday night dinner with friends. We were a bit apprehensive since the empty was empty except for one family. We decided to eat here anyways.
Since I was at a Lebanese restaurant, I had to order hummus. So I got the hummus with meat and they were kind enough to allow me to substitute chicken instead of lamb since I'm not a fan of lamb. The hummus was a bit tart but filing. The pita was not as good as I wanted it to be though.
Very reasonably priced. Nice and quiet. Just what needed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David M.Washington, DC1591Sep 28, 2015
Good but not great Lebanese food. The appetizers seem to be things for sale in the adjacent grocery store that have been minimally prepared for your table. They're good for pre-made products you purchase in a grocery store, they're merely fine for a restaurant. The main dishes are a bit better, partially because you can't purchase them as easily next door. Still, the meat was overcooked and the only saving grace was that there were plenty of appetizers (though not a full mezze) to augment the dish.
I recommend the grocery store more than the restaurant.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hyunoo P.Falls Church, VA60123Jul 12, 2011
When there is a lady to impress with tender, locally sourced lamb chops.
This is my butcher.
When I'm tired of super market new-zealand-imported frozen lamb at $16+ per pound.
This is my butcher.

When I want to wonder if what I'm getting violated any health codes on its way to me.

Here is an anecdote to explain my 5 stars since most everyone else is skirting on the 4...
I wanted a whole rack of lamb. There were none in the case. Butcher pulls out an entire lamb carcass, breaks it down right there, and in 5 minutes I had my rack of lamb. That's service.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Brendan J.Washington, DC8817612Dec 11, 2008

Nice family run place. The space is a little small but there are several tables.
We initially thought we were supposed to order at the front since they have the big menu hanging up there, but eventually someone told us we could have a seat and gave us the little takeout looking menus. There was only one server and she seemed a little overwhelmed, but service was aight overall.
We started with the green bean appetizer. It was delicious. Kind of like Greek style green beans where they're stewed with tomatoes and onions. Really good with hot toasted pita. I got the beef skewer - I guess it was the Lebanese style kubideh but not as spiced as other versions I've had. Made it taste more like hamburger. Dining companion got the chicken tawook kabob. They were tender and juicy, but really really bland.
Dinners came with some pretty tasty rice, grilled onion and tomato, tahini sauce, and several types of pickles. There were carrots, beets, onions, and cornichon pickles. I think the carrot and the beet ones may have been homemade. The pickles were tasty but really acidic - I had to stop eating them after a while since they were burning my tongue.
There was also something in both dishes that had a strange, kind of flowery taste. Maybe it was just one of the spices used in Lebanese cuisine and I'm not used to it. Not sure whether or not I like the flavor.
Payment was a little weird. You take your check to the market and pay there. There wasn't a place for tip on the receipt so we went back to the restaurant side and left it on the table.
I'd probably go back if in the area again to check out other items on the menu. The market has lots of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern items and the prices at the butcher seemed pretty good.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0
