Hi Nathan! The best way to get an estimate is to fill out our new guest form on our website. There are a lot of factors when it comes to hair color, and we like to get as much information as we can.

I love this neighborhood salon! I see Sam for color and she never disappoints! I'm a picky, former hairstylist too LOL.
The space is beautiful. Minimalist but not cold. They always have seltzer on hand for guests. It's a nice perk!
I think the prices are very reasonable for the area. I definitely feel I'm getting my money's worth. They offer online scheduling as well (which I prefer).

Rude owner. I was charged $47.50 for a late arrival fee which is not explicitly mentioned on the website. There is a late arrival fee mentioned in vague terms but it is not clear how much they will charge you. If I had known this would be the cost of the late arrival fee, I never would have booked at this salon in the first place.
I called an hour ahead of my appointment to notify the salon of my late arrival due to traffic and to see if it is possible to bump out my appointment. No one picked up.
Owner also tried to claim I didn't call his salon when I had called the salon and had the phone call transaction in my phone history and showed him. He also noticed that there was actually a call placed at the time I called after saying no one called the salon.
He made a point to tell me exactly how many minutes I was late and offered no next steps without me prompting him. Very disinterested in having a new customer.
Look at his responses to the other negative reviews. The way he communicates in his responses to the other negative reviews is similar to how he actually communicates in person. I rarely leave negative reviews, and am sad to post this one when the haircuts I saw in the other reviews looked quite nice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

You showed up 21 minutes late to your appointment that you confirmed 24 hours prior. You didn’t notify us. I told you that you unfortunately we were past the window from when we could take you because it would inconvenience the guest following your appointment. I said I could book you for another day but you would still be charged a fee. You booked the appointment. We charged the card you gave us to be placed on file. You then called and canceled the appointment. You didn’t say anything about being upset or why you were charged when I had you on the phone. I guess you wanted to save that for here?
The form that you filled out (where you have to check a box agreeing to our policy) states:
“Cancellations less than 24/48 hours’ notice, as well as late arrivals over 10 minutes will be charged 50% of the service. Missed appointments with no notice are subject to charge in the full amount.”

Please note this review is just about the weird experience I had with Amber. Nicole is an amazing stylist who is very very talented and I've never had a bad experience with her ever! Jack is also very kind, helpful and has a beautiful shop.
ANYWAY- I went in for a color consult for blonding after having fashion colors previously. The vibe with Amber was immediately really weird, she was moving around me really standoffishly like she was disgusted. She cut off a large chunk--as in a small ponytail in a rubber band--from one portion of the back of my head. She put bleach on the fully 1 inch-wide chunk of my hair for less than 5 minutes (it lifted a lot surprisingly) and opened the foil and immediately said "see, so you can't go blonde because it's yellow." I don't know if she thought I was stupid or if that was her trying to get me to not book with her. I felt really weird about the whole thing but because I used to go to this salon for my cut, figured she must know what she's talking about and proceeded to book. She didn't provide an estimate for cost which was also strange and felt like she was rushing to get me out of her chair.

Front desk was incredibly rude. Arrived slightly late, called in advance and was not warned about cancellation/cancellation charge policy over the phone. Drove through stand still traffic (due to an accident) to arrive 15 mins late. Was turned away without an apology and charged.

You were 27 minutes late. When we let you know that we unfortunately wouldn’t be able to take you and would be charging you a fee you asked if that was on the website. I let you know that it was. I’ve gone ahead and pasted them below. Note that these were also listed when you submitted your credit card information. You checked the box agreeing to our policies.

I and my daughter decided to try out this hair salon and we were very happy with the outcome. My daughter was very picky on her own hair style but she was very satisfied with her new look. Would definitely come back again.

I booked an appointment for this week for a hair cut with what I thought was going to be a "deposit". The owner of Marin has deducted $85 from my account and I haven't yet been to her shop!

Our records show that on at 4:58pm on 4/14. You requested a haircut appointment for 4:15pm on 4/20.
You filled out our required credit card form and your appointment request was approved at 7:56pm on 4/15.
Our credit card form that you filled out states:
“We require a credit card to be placed on file to hold all appointments. We understand busy schedules and different circumstances cannot be avoided so we are happy to cancel your appointment with 24 hours’ notice. Services that book out for longer than 2 and half hours require 48 hours’ notice.
Cancellations with less than 24/48 hours’ notice will be charged 50% of the service. Missed appointments are subject to charge in the full amount. This policy and charges are indisputable and cannot be excused for any reason.
If you have not reviewed our policies please do so before submitting. By submitting, you agree to our policies as well as the terms listed above. “
An email and text message reminder was sent at 8:24am on 4/17.
A follow-up email and text message reminder was sent at 8:24am on 4/19.
We tried to contact you on 4/20. You were charged for a no-call/no-show fee at 5:04pm.
You never reached out to discuss and this is the first time I’m hearing anything from you.

Note this review is for their customer service and booking an appointment only as I was not motivated enough to spend more than 20 mins to make a hair appointment seeing how its not suppose to be rocket science.
I tried to book an appointment to color my hair via Yelp. The response back seemed positive with "how can I help you book your appointment?"
When I tried to call them directly the person on the other line directed me to their website. Here is my problem with this hands off approach in booking new appointments. 1) If is not helpful if you do not know exactly what one wants or the name of what the procedure is called in snobby hair-speak 2) As a new client you have no idea who specializes in what hair-speak service 3) Referring a client back to a cold website to just enter some basic information when they already have called in, and you can ask me while I am on the phone is.... just not customer-friendly 4) The appointment troll basically encouraged me to go else where "You are welcome to take your money elsewhere"
Nice.
Business for them MUST be good to turn away potential clients with girl friends who color their hair often. I don't know about you but I would not want to waste any more time or my hard earned money on this snobby, rude and nasty establishment.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0
