This is a steakhouse called Mooo.... what's a better name?! It's an exquisite and upscale spot in Boston that's great for a special occasion. The boyfriend brought me here for my birthday dinner and I was immediately surprised by the personalized menu they had for me with my name on it. They even held onto it to let you take it home afterwards, but we sadly forgot when we left.

To start off, we got some complimentary bread and butter. The butter has a little mooo sign, which was cute. This was decent, nothing too special but nice to have while waiting for your meal to start. For cocktails, I had the Pigs Can Fly ($20), which was a bit too tart for me. The boyfriend had the Old and Cranky ($22), which was essentially an Old Fashioned. Next was the starters and I had the Maine Lobster Bisque ($24) while he had the Classic Caesar Salad ($20). We also shared the Prime Dry-Aged Meatballs ($24). The lobster bisque was amazing with chunks of lobster inside as well. Definitely gotta have some of that seafood when in Boston. The salad was also a huge plate with huge, crunchy croutons. The meatballs were a pass though as it wasn't anything too special and came with 3 pieces.

I was already starting to get full already, but I was excited for the main course. I got the Tenderloin of Beef Wellington ($77) while he got the Creekstone Farms Prime Bone-in Dry Aged Ribeye ($95). As a fan of Gordon Ramsey and having had his infamous beef wellington, I was impressed by Jamie Mammano's version of this English dish. The layers between the pastry is beautifully done with the foie gras, spinach, mushroom duxelle, and filet mignon. These layers win this for me over Gordon Ramsey's and that says a lot. I only wish I could've enjoyed this dish more when I was reaching my stomach capacity. We also got a side of Onion Rings ($16), which was perfectly soft inside contrasting the crunchy panko and parmesan crust.

Of course we had to finish off with a Classic Creme Brulee ($18). This dessert came out with a birthday writing on it as well, which was nice. It was quite a huge dish, so perfect to share with two or more. Overall, what a meal --food was amazing and service was impeccable. If you're looking to splurge, make a reservation here.

This restaurant is worth the hype. The Beacon Hill location is just one of three locations and I loved my experience there! My partner and I were constantly just in awe of the food and spent almost the entire time talking about how great everything was.

I ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye Steak which was juicy and tender but not too fatty, which is usually my concern with ordering ribeyes. We got a fish crudo which was honestly the star of the show. It was a beautiful, unique, and adventurous flavor combination and you could really tell how fresh the fish was. Even the free bread that they gave us blew us away. It was buttery, warm, soft, and I would've definitely paid money for it. We got a Sides Tasting Flight and our favorite was the mashed potatoes and the mushrooms but overall it was amazing!

The ambiance is fancy and it's perfect for an occasion. Even better, if you tell them what your occasion is in advance, they'll put it on the menu! We went to celebrate an anniversary and they made the experience very special.

The price of the food is expensive and you should be prepared to break the bank but the food was worth the price. You are paying for what you get here!

Overall, I would go again as many times as I could. I'm sure the other locations are also as solid as this one!

      Updated review

Mooo continues to be my favorite steakhouse in Boston. Not only is the interior beautiful, but the food here is SO good. It's worth the high price tag imo.

In terms of what we ordered:
Crispy Calamari: 4.5/5 - crispy, fresh & filled with tart peppers as well. This was so yummy, only thing that could've made it better was a pinch more salt.
Truffle Fries: 10/5 - crispy, truffley with just the right amount of cheese on top, these are a must order every time! I find myself craving these.
Filet Mignon: 5/5 - you get exactly what you pay for. No frills, just delicious, well-seared and juicy filet. The butter on the side enhances the flavor profile if you're into that. But just the salt + pepper is enough to complement the mignon.
Milk & Cookies: 3/5 - Not bad at all, but I've had much better cookies from other places. These cookies are more crispy than soft. Levain is way better.

The staff is always professional & attentive, no qualms there. Overall, you definitely can't go wrong with celebrating your special occasions here or just treating yourself out to a nice dinner ~

Came here for a birthday dinner.

Was seated in a booth in the front of the restaurant. No white table cloths or anything fancy. They put a space heater next to our table because it was so cold inside...

The filet and beef Wellington were so so good. They also have GF rolls which is a plus. Both of us shared a salad, 2 sides, beef Wellington and filet. With only one cocktail each the bill was nearly $300. This just seems totally outrageous and was not worth it. You can get a delicious steak at a different Boston steakhouse that has a way better atmosphere. Moo just overall was NOT worth it.

We came up to Boston to attend the March Madness basketball games and had some relatives meet us here for dinner. It is an upscale Steakhouse with a beautiful ambiance. We were seated at a very nice round table for five with very big comfortable chairs. Service was good from our waiter. We started with the Calamari and tuna tartare appetizers. The presentation, taste, and portion sizes were very good. For entrees, we had the beef wellington, filet mignon, and steak au poivre. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their entrees. We even managed to save some room for desserts. We opted for the cream Brule and milk and cookies. The taste and portion sizes were excellent. A great meal in a great location.

Unless you're a regular, don't bother. Two polite, white, 50-something males with an Amex Platinum card were treated dismissively--from the hostesses to the chilly tall bartender. Safe to assume that People of Color would have no chance of feeing welcome in this ultra-white self-absorbed ode to the past. Perfect example of why Boston gets a bad rap.

My boyfriend and I recently came here for our anniversary and were not disappointed! This is an excellent spot for a celebration. When you make a reservation and mention what you're celebrating, they'll put a little note at the top of the menu with a congratulations! I thought that was a nice touch and nice surprise!

The ambiance is definitely upscale but warm and inviting. We sat at a table against the wall with cushions and it was very comfortable! All of the servers and staff were super attentive, (which I would hope for an expensive, upscale restaurant like this) and frequently checked in.

For food we shared everything, and it was so nice because they were able to split everything for us in the kitchen. For an appetizer we ordered the lobster bisque and it was so buttery and delicious! A great start to the beginning of a very rich meal. For our mains we ordered the beef Wellington and the prime ribeye. First of all everything was cooked perfectly. We ordered medium rare and it was definitely medium rare. The beef wellington was to die for! It was my first time having it and it was so tender and delicious with all the different flavors together. Highly recommend this! Honestly, sharing that would've been enough. The ribeye was a lot but we were able to take a lot home as leftovers. We also ordered a side of broccolini which was delicious and a great side vegetable to have.

For dessert we had the banana foster and it was just okay for me. Next time I would probably want to try the milk and cookies. Overall we had a fantastic experience here. Would definitely come back for another fancy date night or celebration!

      A Great Steak

I am on the carnivore diet, so my menu is limited to steak, eggs, and butter. Craving a great steak, I asked the concierge at the Boston Park Plaza where to go for great steaks. One of the two places recommended was Moooo Beacon Hill. I walked there, got a table for one and ordered the Bone-In Ribeye. No bread, no sauce, no sides, nothing but steak. As expected, it was perfectly prepared. Juicy, and delicious! It did not need any sauces.

Service was excellent and friendly. The manager visited the table as well. Ambiance was perfect for fine dining. Lighting was dark.

Great aged beef! Just what I craved!

OMGoodness this place was everything! The interior design was so chic and cozy. The staff was fun and attentive and the food !!! Oh the food !! We literally wanted one of everything from the menu.
Came here on a work trip to celebrate two of my coworkers and they loved it as much as I did. The cookies we got for dessert were so good everyone said they were the best they ever had!
