Is this place open anymore? I bought a bike from Kevin years ago and since then purchased another. His number is disconnected. I hope he's ok.

From the first telephone call to all my follow-up questions Kevin has been nothing but honest, helpful, and reasonable with all the repairs that were required to get this old 1988 Honda Shadow back on the road. Moonlight Motorcycle was even able repair/replace a fuel pump that is not longer in production.
Turns out that Kevin has been working on motorcycles BEFORE mine was made and it definitely shows with his knowledge and suggestions for the services that were performed. Price was very reasonable and the turn around time for repairs was also right on schedule for what was promised.
I will definitely be using Moonlight Motorcycle Repair for any repairs I may have in the future! Thanks for being an honest mechanic who stands behind his work!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Erin B.Austin, TX479Jan 9, 2015
This was my first attempt at cleaning the carburetors. I came in with a question about potentially missing parts on carburetors and Kevin explained that I was most likely mistaken by pointing out where the pieces were on the parts I brought. He also took the time to explain the various pitfalls of carburetor repair and walked me through the process. Immensely helpful. Thanks Kevin!

Most shops would just try and reel you in to get your money not caring what may work better for you, I didn't get that here. I got good, honest, patient advice on how to go about my motorcycle problem. I saved time and money. If you care about your time and money, then Moonlight Motorcycle is the real deal. I appreciate y'all!

I had a very different experience from Andy B. I have a bike that was 14 years old, was grossly abused and neglected by a needy family member I loaned it to several years ago. When I finally got it back it was in sad shape, needing just about everything done to it - brakes, cables, clutch, exhaust, broken chain adjusters, on and on.
Kevin did have it long time - almost a month - but when I got it back I was very pleased. I've been riding pretty consistently and driving a 30 mile round trip commute for about 2 weeks now and it's working well. Also, his estimate was almost exactly what it actually cost me for all of the repairs and all charges were well detailed.
Kevin works part time as he's semi-retired, so the service is slower than taking it to a dealer, but not as slow as Zabor's (and with FAR less bad attitude). He's also a certified Honda mechanic and used to work for a dealer. I'm pretty sure he's also certified on other types of bikes, but I own a Honda, so I'm a little myopic about that. Another plus for me is that Moonlight is local to South Austin and I don't have to do a huge commute to the dealer.
I'd recommend Kevin's shop, but know going in that it will probably be slower than you would expect from a large shop.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steven G.Napa, CA016Jul 29, 2014
Honest and quality work for a very reasonable rate! A true craftsman, with integrity, and a vintage bike super sleuth...if you have a vintage Japanese bike, Kevin's number should be first on your speed-dial...

If your bike breaks down, this is by far the best deal for a tow. Kevin does have a longer turnaround time than other shops I have used, but he is an honest mechanic and will give you a fair and detailed price.

This Guy is an asshole. Charged me $500.00 for a major tune-up on my bike, and I ran out of gas on the way home, 5 miles from his shop. Called to tell him it would not start when the weather is cold, he got mad and started cussing when I ask him if he was going to give me the bike back again with no gas if I brought it in. Needless to say Im done with this Asshole!!!!!!!!!!!!
