New to the area, and found these reviews on Yelp. Gilbert is fantastic, and his prices are as well. Called about a rubbing sound from the back end of our 2015 Subaru Forester, and he had us come by the next morning.

Diagnosed it, gave us the price estimate to the penny, and then it was done before Noon as he indicated. Price was the same and the issue fixed.

Recently purchased a 2015 Subaru WRX. After driving it for a couple weeks, the AC stopped cooling. Found Moonlight Automotive doing a search for Subaru specialist. After speaking with Gilbert over the phone, we brought the car and left it overnight. He called me early the next morning stating he found the leak to be o-rings from the lines that attach to the compressor. My ac was repaired quickly & at a fair price. Its very refreshing to find an honest shop that specializes in Subaru just a few miles away from my place. I get good vibes from Gilbert & his shop. I'll definitely be bringing my car back anytime it needs repairs or service.

Great service and reasonable pricing. Great to have a Subaru mechanic closer than north Austin or San Antonio. Speaking to Gilbert I got a good feeling that he was giving it to me straight. Don't expect anything fancy, just good quality at a good price.

I called in to inquire about some engine work I wanted done to my WRX and Gilbert spent a good amount of time walking me through all of my options and what the pros and cons were for each. In the end, he actually declined to work on my car and pointed me in a better direction to suit my specific needs and didn't just take the job to make a quick buck. Of of all the shops I talked to today about my car, he was definitely was the most knowledgeable and straight forward out of anyone that specializes in Subaru vehicles in the Austin area.

If you have a Subaru, this place has the best service you could ask for. Honest and direct about what you do need and what you don't need. I had a rainy drive into Austin for Thanksgiving and slid on wet pavement. I was worried that my brakes needed attention. I was shown that I did not need new brakea, I had just slid on oil, but I was right that my battery was nearly dead. I got a new battery and an assurance my brakes were fine for driving home. I would go to Moonlight Automotive again. The waiting room is very unglamorous but for honest, quality car care, aesthetics don't matter.

If you own a Subaru and aren't taking it to him, you're wrong.
He is an honest fellow and a great mechanic.

I've been taking my Subaru into Gilbert for a couple of years now and I can't say enough how great of a mechanic he is or what a nice person he is. I can absolutely trust what he tells me...it's like having my dad work on my car. My car has over 200K miles on it and shows no sign of stopping.

We are looking at getting another car in the spring and I'm seriously considering getting another Subaru just so we can keep our mechanic!
