Our son has been going here since we moved to SD in 2018, he was 4yo old at the time. He is 7.5 now and is still there! Ana Paula's detailed review is spot on. We plan to keep our son in the eldest classroom until he ages out. Our 3yo daughter started there this past summer and is also thriving there. She had some issues adjusting (esp at dropoff) but the teachers worked her through it. LOVE the school.

I highly recommend this school! This is my 5th year taking my boys to the Montessori School of San Diego and I absolutely love everything about it! It's a small school, so you get familiarized with parents and kids faces and names very easily, which creates a nice and warm community feel at drop off and pick up. There are only 5 classrooms of about 20 kids each, being 3 preschool (3-4 year olds); 1 kindergarten/first grade (5-6 year olds); and 1 for second/third grades (7-8 year olds). They have two teachers per class and that make it easier for the kids to learn on their own pace. The staff is friendly, the teachers are very knowledgeable and experienced, most of them have worked there for many years (which is always a good sign). I will always be grateful I had the opportunity to have my kids in such great school for their early education. Thank you, MSSD! Keep up the amazing job!

More of a business than a children's preschool. They are well run with perfect monthly tuition accounting and frequent marketing of t-shirts, lunches, or after school programs. Their classrooms are organized and teachers are well-mannered. They also teach numbers, letters, songs, and shapes to the little ones. However, any perceived behavioral problems result in phone calls to pick up the child - not listening, acting loudly, or being too wild on the playground result in early pick up - remember, these are 3-5 year old kids. These perceived problems can even result in expulsion from the school. Although I was always happy with the expertise in their arrogant instruction, their lack of patience is frankly, incomprehensible for people of this profession. Unless you venture to risk frequent early pick ups or even expulsion, don't try this school.

Degrading rude and dismissive. My son and I were invited to meet the teacher before school began. They met with us for less than 10min only to say they didn't think it would work out, without testing or doing any observation other than just judgment based on the way we looked and her feelings towards us. I was literally told by a teacher that there were "too many boys in her classroom already". Felt like we were not welcome and unfit to join in their "club". Worst experience, we were made to feel unwanted and unworthy... very unfortunate.

Son has been going here for a few months and he loves it. I didn't know a lot about the system when I first toured but was given a lot of information. I didn't receive a lot of info on the day to day with parent interaction(I.e. needed items for parties and weekly events) but learned along the way. My son is 3 and I will be keeping in this school system going forward. It is about $930 a month plus $50 a month for after hours care.

We just finished 5 years at this wonderful school! Both my children were in room 3. Ms. Samiya is the most loving and caring teacher we could have ever asked for! In all the 5 years we never had a day where the kids cried and didn't want to stay...they felt comfortable in the warm environment that Ms. Samiya provided! Both my kids were reading, writing and doing simple math by the time they left her class. And they were only five years old!! Such a wonderful school!!

We found this school because our neighborhood school is not a school we wanted our daughter to attend but we'd missed the Choice application deadline for other public schools since we thought we were moving and then decided to stay. I am so incredibly happy it all worked out that way! Our five year old daughter has absolutely thrived here. The structure here and the method of teaching engender a self-initiated love for learning. One of the most important aspects to me is the friendly and accepting social environment that is nurtured. There is no allowance for cliques or bullying or other inappropriate behavior, just a focus on positive and healthy social interaction between every child. I can't emphasize enough what a relief that is to know I am leaving my daughter at a safe and empowering place every single day.
The cost is a consideration so we were originally going to move her to a (cost free) public school for 1st grade but now I'm not sure I can bring myself to do that. I feel like the quality of the social and academic education received here by our most precious asset (our child) is worth anything else we sacrifice in order to pay the tuition.

Absolute jewel. It is a warm and inviting environment for children. The teachers are great. I am not sure if it gets better than this. My second child now has the privilege to attend this wonderful school and she is thriving. Highly recommend this school to any parent.
