We were excited to see how our 18 month old grandson would like a place like this since he'd never experienced one like it. It had been raining and was too wet to play outside when he was here for a visit. I wish I had thought to read the reviews here first. We would have gone elsewhere. It may be fine for older kids under better circumstances, but I don't recommend for little ones.
On top of what the other poor reviews say, there was something wrong with the air conditioning on Sat. 4/18 and it was at least 90 degrees in the place. We noticed it felt really warm when we walked in, but we thought it might have been because it was a humid day. We were not told otherwise by the harried and unhappy looking employees.
First impression when we walked in was that it was hot, disorganized, and it smelled bad. Not being deterred, since it is only $6.99 for the younger kids, we thought once we got in maybe it would be better. WRONG. And even though I read on the website that there is a "separate play area for ages 3 and under", this is not true. There is very little for the younger ones to do. There is a bounce house for 3 and under, but it didn't seem appropriate for little ones. Our grandson is a strapping 29 pounds but was still overwhelmed by it.
There are a few riding toys in the arcade area, but they are so inconsistent with how you pay, as you need quarters for some and a "banana card" for others. It was SO hot, so smelly, and with kids screaming everywhere, it was just an uncomfortable experience we don't want to repeat. As patient as you think you'll be in a place like that for the kids' sake, this place could do much better to make it clean and inviting for both kids and parents, and just a better play experience overall.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marcus A.Greenville, SC73215Sep 4, 2016
This place is a ripoff. I gave it a whole two stars because the kids like it but they are disappointed that most of the games don't work. You don't know that they don't work until you swipe your card and pay the money. The place is poorly set up, lighting is poor and a whole corner of the establishment filled with unused equipment. 2 children equaled $30 of shotty entertainment. Value is crap BUT the kids did have fun...

Mismanaged is an understatement. The equipment is dirty, the employees are playing games instead of working, the chair I sat in near the slide is broken and I almost fell out. The stench is overwhelming. Will never return such a wasted investment for the owner.

Seems like they cut down the number of bouncy houses...not as much fun...

This place smells overwhelmingly like pee. I don't understand how they don't notice and do something about it.

Disgusted doesn't even begin to describe it. Would never go and would never recommend it to anyone. Not at all family friendly, management asked a nursing mother to take her infant to the dirty bathroom to continue the feeding. They may want to consider checking laws regarding breastfeeding mothers.

Was actually very impressed, especially after reading the reviews. The staff was friendly, but not really enforcing any rules. My daughter had a blast, place was pretty clean, and we will go back again. Watch your really young kids closely, because the staff does not pay that much attention, but they are also very young and its a big place.

Over Thanksgiving my family was visiting my parents in the Greenville area, we have been to Monkey Joe's near our home in Illinois and were looking for a way to allow our 3 and 6 year old girls to get some exercise running around on a rainy morning. Our issue came with the "ref" or this woman was wearing some sort of referee shirt. She walked around yelling at kids who were running or jumping too high. All in all, that's a good thing. However, my 6 year old was helping my 3 year old out of an inflatable that was for 3 and under. This woman begins blowing her whistle and yelling at my 6 year old that she's too big to help her sister. By now both of my kids are in tears as they were just trying to get out of the inflatable. As I'm rounding up the kids and my wife I hear this same woman bragging about how she "keeps this kids in line, they ain't gonna be running on my watch." I understand the need for control in these situations but a Napoleon complex coming from a 60 year old woman dealing with 3-8 year old kids is not a good combination. I sent a complaint to corporate and have not received any response. I will never return to this Monkey's Joe's and I only feel bad for the other employees who must deal with a woman who should be unemployed!
