$3 Margaritas! That's enough to get me to come back. The food is decent tavern fare., sandwiches, burgers, salads and the like.
The nachos are large portions, good for three or more. The burgers come on a soft brioche bun, but have an issue of slightly too high bun to burger ratio.
Solid overall choice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 01331Feb 17, 2024
We did takeout last night from Molly's as the wait time at 7pm was 45 minutes and we're glad we did not try to navigate the crowds with my mobility challenged mother-in-law as it was super crowded even picking up my takeout order (think crowds around the hostess stand pressed up 7 people deep and ten people wide).
To be fair, takeout can be an inaccurate way to assess the true quality of food but I would say our food overall was just ok.
Chicken cheese quesadilla - 3/5 (came with salsa, and some other sauce that seemed odd, like not sour cream, looked a bit like thousand island dressing)
Fish & chips - 4/5, fish was good and a sizable portion, fries hard to know as takeout fries are never as good as the ones fresh in the restaurant
A little bit of everything flat bread - 3/5 it did indeed come with a little bit of everything - pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, olives, mushrooms, onions - and maybe a little bit too much of everything because the very thin crust could not support all that was on it (and the crust was soggy as a result)
Brussels sprouts salad 2/5 - I think this should not be described as a salad, it was more like a quinoa breakfast bowl - with cooked brussels sprouts, butternut squash chunks, bacon - and a tiny bit of arugula. Not a salad as I would imagine it. Maybe if I could get out of my head that this was supposed to be a salad, I would have enjoyed it more. But it was way too heavy on the quinoa and light on any greens to be called a salad in my book.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jonathan L.Seattle, WA04Dec 9, 2023
Been here a few time. Twice in the last 2 years. Food has nkt been as expected.
Ordered a simple "Grass fed local beef" burger special . Requested Medium-Medium rare.
Came out well done, dry, and fries were cold. Plate was hot though. $18 this burger was about $15 too much.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mar 5, 2024
Molly's items are very pricey for their serving size. I had to ask for drink refills multiple times. The food was decent but nothing spectacular. I might return to give Molly's another try but as of now, it is overpriced and the quality is slightly above fast food.

$3-4 margs? Sign me up. Molly's is a cute local American restaurant/bar that's good for large groups. Servers are really nice and accommodating. Their free bread and honey butter are ADDICTING and I think we filled up a little too much on those.
I split the bang bang shrimp with a friend and they were nice enough to put it in two bowls (pic is of half a serving). It was a tasty comfort pasta, pretty greasy but nice and creamy. Truffle fries were also good and they gave an entire plateful- more of a full entree than a side dish.
I will say, the flavored margs are way too sweet but a really good deal if you're able to choke it down.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 15, 2023
After all the stellar reviews, I found Molly's to be somewhat disappointing.
I arrived about 6:30 on a Friday night and took the one empty seat at the bar. The bartender took far too long to even recognize that a new face had shown up. I know it was a Friday night but the bar has only 12 seats. A good bartender will immediately see when someone new sidles up.
Eventually, the bartender brought the menu and offered a beverage. I chose a Sauv Blanc along with a bowl of their much-acclaimed French onion soup and a half Caesar salad.
No acclaim from me for either.
The soup broth was watery; nowhere near enough beef flavor. And it was too light on the onions. Nice cheese topping, but much better French onion soups can be had at Jesse's and even the chain Restaurant 99.
The Caesar salad had almost no dressing. I don't like salads drowned in dressing but there should be enough. Not the case here.
I did see their $3 margaritas advertised and my bartender asked if I'd like to try one. Sure! Apparently they make them en masse, as she pulled out a 1/2-gallon milk jug and poured from it into my salt-encrusted glass. Not one you're going to rave is "exactly like the ones we get in Mexico" but for $3, pretty good, really.
And the warm bread with the honey butter (which wasn't offered but I knew to ask for, thanks to Yelp reviews) were also very tasty.
If you're a college student the $3 Margs will probably take the edge off and you'll be just fine. But I want a more attentive experience and, honestly, better food. Given the "meh" food and the lackluster service, I doubt if I'll be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 22, 2023
They've got everything from pastas, pizzas, to burgers, as well as margs at a very affordable price. For these reasons it's no surprise that the place thrives on a college campus, but overall the food is pretty greasy and mediocre. Service is also very slow at peak times (ex: waiting for 30+ min despite making a reservation by calling ahead). Servers are very friendly and there is a lot of seating throughout the entire restaurant.

Pretty typical American food, portions on the larger side. Nice accommodating staff, short wait times during busy dinner hour, lively ambiance. Complimentary warm bread for the table. Decent $3 margaritas!!
I ordered the grilled chicken avocado sandwich, no bacon, with a side Caesar salad. The sandwich was great, exactly what you'd imagine, but the brioche bun deflated quickly. The side salad was large, but too much parmesan.
Friends got the Mac n cheese and the sausage rigatoni special- raving reviews for both, but at the end of the day nothing to get super excited about.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Sep 12, 2023
My wife and I stopped while on our trip through the Northeast. We weren't really too sure where to go, and Yelp suggested Molly's! Seem to be a trendy little spot with quite a few people there when we were. After perusing the eclectic menu, we decided on splitting some food, a fired chicken quesadilla, Caesar salad, and Brunswick stew. Unfortunately, I do not recall our servers name but she did a fine job. The chicken quesadilla was huge! It came out exactly as ordered. The small Caesar salad was huge! I don't think we really put a dent in it. The Brunswick stew was very good! Not sure when we'll ever be in Hanover again, if we are, will try to stop.

We have been going to Molly's for years, but we haven't visited with them since Covid. What a delight that it hadn't changed one bit.
Still started off with their hot fresh bread with whipped maple butter. I love the menus here because you always get a different album cover each time- how clever! The menu itself has always been very diverse too- a little something for everyone's taste.
Hubby ordered the Chicken Carbonara (great flavor and good serving size) and a side Cesar salad (fresh and cold). I ordered the Buddha Bowl (so filling! had leftovers for next day's lunch!). Everything was delicious- very fresh and brought over to us steaming hot (cold for the salad of course!).
The ambiance is always pleasant- love seeing that pizza oven in action. Justin was super friendly and very attentive. We didn't have to wait too long for our meals nor for our bill, which was very reasonable for what we ordered. Molly's has been a great consistent restaurant for us and we're so happy to be back! Highly recommend!!oHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
