Stopped in here yesterday to check it out. One of the ladies I work with loves this place. I was greeted as I walked in the door by someone yelling "Welcome to Moe's" but looking around, nobody was looking at me. I had to chuckle. I had a few questions regarding the menu since I had never been there before. The gal at the counter was very helpful and friendly. I decided on the Adobo Chicken Bowl with seasoned rice. Everything was hot and fresh. The chicken was super yummy. The rice was just a little under-seasoned for me but not a deal breaker. I was very happy with my meal. There was so much that I saved about half of it for later. There were several items on the menu that I would love to go back and try, and I also saw that they do catering!!

The food was soooo salty. I wasted the entire bowl because I was overwhelmed with how salty everything was. Sucks because I like the "Welcome to Moesssssss" greeting upon arrival and the festive selection of salsas. But my goodness. I just knew my pressure was going up with every bite. Lol
My boyfriend and someone else in the restaurant also said the same thing so I know I'm not crazy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David H.Grand Rapids, MI023May 16, 2018
I used to like Moe's, but something changed over the past 18 months. The store is dirty. The floors/tables are sticky and gross. Seats are filthy and falling apart. The staff used to be friendly, cheerful, and they took pride in their work. This just isn't the case anymore. You end up being treated as more of an interruption to their day, when you walk in to order a burrito.
On top of all of that, it appears this store has stopped serving food during dinner hours, instead they close early afternoon. Unclear if they just can't find good workers, or if their terrible service has turned so many customers off, that it's no longer profitable to serve dinner. Either way, I've given this place the last dollar they will ever get from me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Allison M.Caledonia, MI3115Nov 11, 2019
Great place to go for a quick meal. Food is fresh and the burritos are huge enough to spilt or save for the next day. The green salsa is my favorite and every meal is served with a huge serving of chips on the side. Monday's are a great day to go as they do $6.99 burritos.

Watched an employee hand a customer a sample cup of chicken, after the customer picked thru it the employee dumped it back into the food they are serving... place was also very dirty. Not going back

Not really a review of Moe's itself, but rather the conduct of one of their employees while I was out. I was recently at another restaurant by the 28th street area, and there was a Moe's employee in full uniform either wasted or high on something sitting at the bar, she was cursing loudly and berating the other customers at the bar... the loudest thing I heard was "I'm not fat because I don't eat condiments" I was there with my friend and her child and was mortified by the language and the conduct of this person, on top of the conduct she was also shouting to the bartender to "Come see me at work, I work at Moe's!!!" Not a good look for your store.

We tried Moes several years ago, and were not impressed. We thought we would give them another try this week. However, that was a mistake, not to mention a waste of money. This was by far the worst food I have had in a restaurant in a very long time. Service was friendly, but slow. By the time I got my nachos, they were cold. Meat in the other meals we ordered was greasy. Guacamole was terrible. Ugh, I wish I could say something positive about this place, but I just can't think of anything. We will not be back.

I grab Moe's quite often for lunch. I've gotten to know this place very well. I've tried most of the items on the menu and I can't say anything was bad. Variety of meats, beans, rices and cold sides for your burrito or bowl. You can get everything on the menu customized or you. They have more options than Qdoba or Chipotle. The wait can be slightly long and there has been staff in the past that could use more training when it comes to wrapping burritos or folding stacks.

I stopped here because I saw them on "Undercover Boss" a while ago, and thought it looked like a cool place to eat. However, I should have known by how empty it was that it was not going to be good at all. The required "Welcome to Moe's" greeting should have been my second red flag, because it came with the energy of road kill... which leads me to the food.
There was definitely nothing fresh about my order. I ordered a taco salad, and when I sat down at a table I had to clean off and started to eat, my food was nothing but mush. The ingredients were all so soggy that everything just kind of blended together in an inedible mush in a stale bowl. I forced my way through about half of it and then had to throw it out... it was just terrible.
There are plenty of other establishments along 28th Street, so I highly recommend you try them instead!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sean M.Saint Joseph, MI53265149Sep 1, 2013
I always seem to get the same thing, regardless of what Mexican restaurant I go to, high end or low (that thing in question is a chicken fajita burrito). After all, I'm a creature of habit and I know what I like. Additionally, I don't like to be disappointed, and I almost always am whenever I try a new dish. I'm sure this is of great psychological importance and is very telling about the inner workings of my mind, but you can come back to that later. I have to tell you about Moe's.
The fajita burritos here are almost always good, and the service is well, I guess they try. Compared to the Q these taste a bit better to me! I don't like to think of it as fast food, even though it clearly is. I prefer to refer to it as edible stuff that is prepared in a quick and efficient manner.
Semantics people... And in the case of my beloved fajita burritos, tasty seasoning and a tortilla full of fajita goodness.
Nuff said.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
