COVID is not the issue. I do not give very bad ratings often. The best part about this restaurant is the deck view. The food is extremely bland with no flavor, I have no idea how you can say Cajun flavor. It is over priced, especially for the flavor.
The catfish is fried too soft, the crab claws have no flavor, the Remoulade is horrible unless you like mayo. The crab cakes should be called breading cakes.
The oysters were supposed to be charbroiled, but they were lightly broiled covered in Parmesan cheese and no bacon as advertised.
The best thing is feeding the catfish.
The hostess was nice and tried to make everything better, but service was slow even for a slow day. I do not recommend this place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 19, 2020
Eh...this is just an okay place.
First and foremost, the location is amazing. The balcony features gorgeous views of the bayou. We saw all kinds of wildlife, including a little alligator swimming right below. It was a wonderful place to watch the sunset.
That being said, it was really warm outside and the bugs were biting! Plan ahead! Next time I'll bring my bug spray!
The restaurant staff was really friendly and did a fine job, for the most part. We ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell and, of all the places I've been so far, these were the biggest. However, they weren't served on ice and they were a little warm which made me and my companion uncomfortable.
I also ordered their seafood salad. It was super tasty but I also asked for no olives and still got olives so spent a lot of my time picking them out. The salad also didn't have as seafood as I expected but it was fine.
The prices were good. The wine selection was ho-hum. I might come back for a glass of wine for the view but doubt I'll be rushing back for dinner anytime soon.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Phillip L.Dayton, OH627101112Nov 16, 2019
I was told to come here to get good cheap oysters. Little did I know that tm this would become my go to seafood place in the Biloxi/Ocean Springs. Don't expect fancy table settings...this more of a mom and pop place. Sit outside or inside, doesn't matter because the food dishes will be big, fried, and delicious.
Seriously don't miss this place.

We ordered a dozen sampler oysters and unfortunately they were not the best (charred and half shell oyster are better). My friend goes here all the time but I was not to impressed. It's a little dingy and it took 30 minutes to get the oysters.

Family owned and operated. Best softshell crab platter hands down. MIss Katy kat was our waitress this time. She liked my tie dye shirt so much she offered for me come over and she'd teach me how to tie dye with her and her son. I thought that was so sweet..!! Food here is good...very good but the "dive" atmosphere and the awesome wait staff is the best. This is by no means a 4 star restaurant...not always the fastest kitchen...tables are always sticky outside. Not because they are dirty just humid...and sticky..!! But the love makes up for any short comings in the decor.
Just good people serving good food..!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 44525927824Jul 16, 2018
Mikey's on the Bayou is aptly described as it sits right on the bayou water in Ocean Springs. This seems to be a popular spot in the area and seems to stay busy. Mikey's Crawfish is the best dish I've had here and then the grilled/fried seafood options, oysters, chicken and steaks are the other main attractions along with some sandwiches/burgers/po boys. The service is generally friendly but often overwhelmed and seem to often lack attentiveness with long periods going past with no sign of your server and then I also had the wrong drink brought to me that took an excessively long time to rectify. Overall it is a decent place for a decent price for what it is while service has a lot of room for improvement.

Home to the most affordable fresh oysters on the half shell. I have seen them be as low as $5 a dozen. This seafood restaurant is locally owned and located on the Old Fort Bayou. They do have an extensive list of local and mainstream beers available. I have seen the wait staff get overwhelmed when it gets busy, so I usually dine in during the off hours. The naked wings are very good as well, I usually get mine with the hot sauce on the side. Enjoy

I stopped by Mississppi for a night during a road trip and I stopped by this place for dinner. The Oyster Sampler was absolutely delicious and I loved that I can taste all three of the baked oysters. My favorite has to be the spinach and cheese one. Not sure about the name, but I absolutely loved them. Their cocktail sauce and tartar sauce was very flavorful, and the waitress said that they make the sauces homemade.
Unfortunately, their fish Po Boy was very mediocre. The fish wasn't very crispy could have been fried a little longer. The lettuce and tomato didn't look very fresh, but the fries were pretty good.
Despite the average po boy, the waitress was absolutely fantastic! She gave me a house salad on her while I wait for my food and she was the sweetest person I've ever met. She recommended places for me to go nearby and she was the definition of nice southern hospitality. I now know that I have a California accent, but the rating definitely went up due to her amazing service.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carolyn S.Baton Rouge, LA2418423Sep 20, 2020
Our waitress was very good. She might have been an owner. The onion rings were great and homemade. I am from New Orleans and know good seafood. This place probably has fresh seafood because of where it is located. However, the batter had no or very little seasoning. They need to step it up a bit.

I'm glad to read the bad reviews here, it only means I will not have to wait for these folks before I get a seat. First off, this is a typical bayou style offering. If you don't understand, stay away from the gulf port region. Not glittery or faddish, but EXCELLENT food. Warm and cozy, great service with well attentive servers and a very simple menu with great offerings. A simple splash of Tabasco is all my red beans and rice needed. Sausage was very favorable. Corn bread moist and warm. At $7 a dozen, oysters on the half shell did not disappoint.
