Absolutely love it here! As did anyone else, I'm so glad I bought the Groupon and tried this place out! I had to book an appointment about a 2 months in advance, but totally worth the wait for Mike to give you his undivided attention.

Very personable, and listens well to what you want for your hair. I got the haircut, balayage (sorry if I misspelled that) and blow out.

Both Mike and Mackenzie are just wonderful people, they really took their time with my hair, didn't rush even though other clients came in, and really great people to talk to!

I also want to make sure to mention the interior design which I thought was fabulous, it was a nice balance of rustic and modern chic. The entire studio felt like wide open clean space, which in San Francisco can feel almost cramped if you don't put the table in the right space. Plus, a Dutch door! It's amazing how small details can transform a room.

Last but not least, the adorable French bull puppy that sun bathes by the window. All delightful company!

Also interesting: Yelp says I am not allowed to post a screenshot of his response (which you can read below) since it doesn't appear to be coming from the business or is not typical for them. Looks like every single person who gives them a bad review either gets vulgar messages or even calls and emails from the business and they still pretend to offer good customer service.
Just don't go here.

Mike is wonderful! Today started as a small hiccup with his assistant not showing up to help and Mike being the only one there! However, he did not seem to be stressed at all! He carefully took his time with every one of his clients. Great hair stylist! I spend literally half my day there hanging out chatting with him and other clients while he cut, treated, and color my hair. Mike wants to get to know his clients and I can tell how genuine he was.

I love my new cut and color. I showed him two pictures of what I wanted and he knew exactly how to treat my hair. Before I came in, my hair was all messy and all over the place.
After the treatment and hair coloring, my hair feels light and not damaging of any sorts!

The wait for first time clients are usually about 3-4 weeks! So book in advance.

The salon is beyond gorgeous :) all white and comfy! Dog friendly too!

Would definitely go back to Mike next time!

Bought the groupon and I'm so glad I did! I had to book my appointment about a month in advance, but for a balayage, cut, and deep condition I think a month is reasonable... It's a long service. Mike listened to what I asked for and explained to me what he was doing throughout the appointment. I couldn't be any more happy with the results!
I will definitely be coming back for a touch up!

I can't rave enough about Mike Page style lab. My boyfriend and I both have been seeing Michael for
over a year now, he is a hair genius. Every Time I go it somehow is better than the last time, I don't know how it's possible! Michael also knows I can be a little lazy with coming in every 6 weeks, so he makes sure my highlights are natural and I'm not looking like a wreck when I come in 8 weeks later. Not only does he do amazing women's hair but the true hair genius Mike is also does my boyfriends hair perfect! Like magic Everytime, my boyfriend leaves staring at him self in the mirror for the next week! Haha.

What's the con? Michael truly cares about the health of your hair and making sure you leave with a perfect cut or color so it can take a little longer , but it is SO WORTH IT.

I've been looking for a salon to dedicate my loyalty to, and I've found that here with stylist, Ryan! I read on Yelp that it would be hard to book an appointment, so since I wasn't in a hurry to get my hair done for a specific occasion, I pre-planned by booking one 2 months in advance. I used a Groupon for haircut/highlights/deep conditioning treatment, and I was able to schedule a convenient appointment at 6pm, even though this meant that they had to keep the salon open for an extra hour and a half just for me! I really appreciated being able to come after work and not have this interfere with my workday.

The salon itself is very spacious and the tall ceilings and natural light made it a really enjoyable space that looked like it could house a photoshoot. It was minimalistic and modern with nice furniture.

Ryan is quite a conversationalist (I was there for 2.5 hours after all) and he's a super interesting and open minded person to talk to.

Haircut 5/5: I liked my haircut very much, and Ryan was patient and took his time with everything, and told me that if I needed anything changed, I could drop in for a complimentary quick fix. After contemplating my hairstyle for a week, I decided to take him up on that offer and get a more layered look, and was able to schedule a drop-in for 20 min to get that free of charge (no other hair salon has offered this service to me before). Ryan was really devoted to making sure I was happy with the result and never took it personally when I said I wanted the style adjusted. I really appreciated his flexibility and attention to detail and great service!

Highlights 4/5: I was trying to create a gradient in my already highlighted hair that would be similar to an ombre look without being too blonde on the tips since I have dark hair. Ryan added highlights under my top layer of hair to achieve this gradient look, but I wish it would have come out with a more smooth gradient overall, I think it still looks a bit choppy and lacking highlights at the very top. I go 6-8 months between highlighting appointments so it's likely my fault that the highlights are hard to layer and make it look natural.

Deep conditioning 4/5: I have never done this before, so I am not the best judge. I liked the treatment's results on my hair texture and it definitely improved my hair's softness, but the chemically smell lingered in my hair after the appointment for awhile which was kind of a turnoff for me because I kept smelling it for the next day until my next wash.

Ryan was attentive, creative, technical, and overall very accommodating to my requests (despite the fact that I probably gave some pretty vague directions and didn't explain myself very well). I was really pleased by the level of service here, and despite being a bit pricy, I was given a 25% discount off my next treatment from Ryan so I am encouraged to go back again soon!

I recently have been looking for a new Hairdresser in SF and while perusing Groupon, found the Mike Page Style Lab. Yesterday was my first visit. My hair had been ombre'd for the last 3 years, so major damage.

Mike, the owner made me feel comfortable right away and didn't judge me or make me feel bad about how much damage my hair had gone through. During the consultation, he gave me guidance on what he could do with my hair and a realistic plan of how to get my hair healthy again.

Even though I came in for my groupon, he said that we would save it for another time and that working with me would be an exciting project! He did a dry-cut with my hair, put a toner on it, and give me a blow out. At the end of the visit, he told me that we would use the groupon on another visit when my hair was healthy enough to have more color. SO SWEET! I thought, OMG, LOVE him!

I have to say, it's rare that I find a Hairdresser that is a consultant and an artist at the same time. Mike is extremely knowledgable, sweet, and is an amazing artist. I love that he has a vision for my hair and I am eager to work with him! The relationship with a Hairdresser is one of trust and I have to say, after my first visit- I trust Mike!

Plus, my fiance said my hair looked sexy when I got home and I've received compliments all day! Thank you Mike and cant wait to see you soon!

Wonderful! Mike cut my hair and he was very attentive to what I was looking for. He took a look at the photos I brought in and assessed what would look best. We cut off enough to donate my hair to Locks of Love. :)

His team is wonderful and they tag teamed very well. Another lovely lady did the color for my hair and while I was worried it would be too light, she reassured me that it would darken up by the time she's done. She was right - the color was perfect.

They are very deliberate with details so while it took quite a while to finish my hair, I appreciate the care.

The studio is beautiful and clean. And the dog is super cool.

I got a Groupon for haircut and my nightmare began.

First of all, it is very difficult to get in touch with the owner to get an appointment.

I tried getting in touch with them to book an appointment for last Dec (2015). It took me four days of constantly calling them to get a response from them. I called them right after I bought the Groupon. When they called they did not have any appointment till Jan 2016. So I decided to use this later.

I called them again in March 2016 to get an appointment. Again, I had to call them at least 4-5 times to get a response. They were fully booked till April end. So I booked an appointment for April 30th, which is after the expiration date of this Groupon. They mentioned as long as I book an appointment before the expiration date, it should be fine.

Now, I have to get the appointment rescheduled due to some personal reasons and the owner is not responding at all. I called 4-5 times but no response. I even went to the salon in-person to get the appointment rescheduled but Mike(owner) told me he will get back to me over phone. I have not received a call from him yet.

It was not my fault that my Groupon expired without being used. It is very difficult to get an appointment with them. And even if one gets an appointment, it is nothing before 45-60 days. It is difficult to predict someone's schedule 45-60 days in advance.

I am really frustrated with this vendor and want my money towards the Groupon back.

When I moved to the city, I was avoiding getting any type of hair appointment because I was afraid of having a bad experience. But it was finally time for a haircut & some color...and after reading good things about Mike Page Style Lab, I made an appointment with Curtis, who I heard was a master with balayage.

After my first experience, I have only good things to say about this place. The white interior is so cute and fancy with the most adorable dogs--small and large (a frenchie & a great dane!)

I showed Curtis what I was hoping to achieve, and explained the particular colors I wanted to highlight and the ones I wanted to avoid, but given my current hair color (asian hair with warm tones), I knew it might not turn out very well. However, Curtis was confident that he knew what I was going for, and the next thing I knew, I was falling in love with my new look when he spun me around to face the mirror! I never knew my hair could even look that good! The color was spot on what I wanted, if not better. He styled it with some waves and made it look so gorgeous.

I am so relieved that this experience was more than perfect and I now have a stylist I can trust for my hair appointments. I highly recommend making an appointment with Curtis! Seriously! I am still glowing from how happy I am with how my hair turned out.
