The comedy murder mystery dinner was $80 per ticket and included a prime rib buffet. It sounded like so much fun and way more interesting than dinner and a movie. Unfortunately, everything about this experience was mediocre and I estimate the value of this three hour cruise at $40 tops.

The boat is in terrible condition! The carpet is old, the paint is peeling, bathrooms are obnoxiously small, and the table next to us had water dripping from the ceiling. Michigan Princess sure does look good at night all light up on the water but taking a closer look in the daylight was such a disappointment.

The murder mystery troupe was pathetic. The actors tried their best to encourage audience participation but it was all just so, so bad. The microphones didn't work half the time, the players didn't wear costumes, the story didn't make much sense, and I maybe laughed twice. I spent more time looking out the window to watch the ducks than paying attention to the live entertainment.

There was cheese, crackers, and veggies for an appetizer. Pop in a glass full of ice was $3. A pitcher of water was available at each table but the staff only refilled it once. The prime rib buffet was lame and the meat had a lot of gristle. Dessert was a tiny slice of strawberry cake. We had to serve ourselves and the staff only cleared off the table after dinner.

My table was wonderful company. There was a couple celebrating 35 years of marriage and another with a 3 year anniversary. Everyone was all dressed up and I was the schmuck in hoodie and mud on my jeans. Oh well, I called ahead and was told there was no dress code for the event.

Riding on the Michigan Princess has always been something I wanted to do and I'm glad I went but I wholeheartedly do NOT recommend this comedy murder mystery dinner. It was a cramped, overpriced, and underwhelming trip down the Grand River on a shoddy paddle boat.

What a cool way to see the houses along Grand River! I would highly recommend this cruise - we went on their Spring themed one and had such a nice time. Lunch was chicken salad on croissant, potato chips, coleslaw and a beautiful fruit salad. Cash bar. I think $42 per ticket is a very fair price for this cool outing - I'd love to go on one in the Fall to see the colors along the river. A family-owned business, the Captain did a very nice intro and the weather was perfect.

Great food. My friend and I did the lunch cruise and it's $43/person. They served a Thanksgiving style buffet with vegetarian lasagna, stuffing, rolls, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad...And it's all made from scratch. There was a jazz band that took requests and a cash bar for pretty cheap. My Bloody Mary was $4.50 with well. After lunch we could explore the whole boat, and it's absolutely fabulous. The captain, Chris, is really nice and told us the story of the boat and how they purchased the Detroit one too. I won't ruin the story in case you go, it was really interesting! The manager and chef, Gary, is really nice too. I can't remember the front of the house manager's name, but she was also friendly and I enjoyed talking to her as well. I think it was well worth going!

We didn't take a dinner cruise, just a 90 minute tour of the Grand River in Lansing on a warm summer's night. They have plenty of inside seating places, a decent bar, and an upper deck to wave to the people on shore. The river isnt very deep or wide, but it was something fun to do. The staff was friendly and the captain let you into the wheelhouse and provided interesting stories about the river and the paddle boat.

This is disgusting. Here for a friend who's playing in a band, 1 of 3 for the night. The smell of sewage is absolutely horrible. Insane to me they are still in business. Will never come here again.

Captain John and his staff are great! They're friendly and personable. He even let us a fly a pirate flag (as long as it was below the american flag) at our work boat party. The food and drinks are decent, but the staff is what make the experience great!

      Crappy, cheap, low class.

Went to the New Years Eve event.

      The pros,
Food was mediocre, prime rib was above avg, full bar, spacious, solid dj.

      The cons:
They ran out of food, not enough wait staff to adequately serve the amount of people on the 2 levels of dining area, Cash bar (should be included in the cost, or charge more), men's restroom smells like pure diesel gas, shady customers (not too bad, but don't leave your personal items at your table if you get up), sold $1 soda in very small glasses filled to the brim with ice! (would not give you a whole can)

      Would not recommend...
      Save your money.

Would have given at lest 2 stars, but the cash bar thing and soda is a deal breaker. Also, gasoline smell. In bathroom can't be right, right?
