Great food, outstanding service and delicious desserts.
Ms. Sue is the owner is from south of Italy, the pizza I had last night, it tasted exactly like the pizza I had in Milan.
We are visiting Tucson from CA for the weekend. Their food is really good, the service was great. Their wine selection had choices from Italy and CA. My son selected the Mama's meatball as appetizer and had the pasta dish with fresh chopped eggs and I chose Fungi pizza.
Must check out their cakes, we chose their chocolate cakes last night. We are going back again tonight and this time will go with pistachios cheesecake.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 492321033Apr 5, 2024
Came here for date night on Thursday It was packed to the gills.
Service was slow but it was worth the wait.
Loaded up on bread and oil The bread was crusty and soft at the same time. The olive oil with balsamic and garlic was delicious I think that's the reason why by the time I got my food I wasn't as hungry.
Salad came and the dressing was delicious your typical green romaine salad with onions for days still delicious
I ordered the carbonara and it did not disappoint. I love the deep fried boiled egg on top and the bacon bits were real bacon bits and it flavored the whole pasta dish. The serving size was huge I was able to eat maybe a third and took the rest home.
The hub ordered the salmon, took a bite of the salmon, It was okay but the risotto was delicious I would have eaten that for days.
So we wanted dessert but we didn't want it at the restaurant as we were stuffed,so we took it home. That Cannoli did not make it home as we live 7 mi away from the restaurant and on the way home we demolished it . It was that good. The filling was light, wasn't sweet but it was sweet enough for me, I thought it was chocolate but it wasn't the little chocolate bits were like crackers almost (idk) And the shell of the Cannoli shell was crispy and that is the best kind.
Had the tiramisu for breakfast with my coffee and it was good.
I love the atmosphere of the restaurant with patio seedings especially now that the weather is nice at night I definitely want to go back for happy hour

Last time I was at Michelangelo's I was very disappointed in the food. Quantities were very small compared to my last visit. The menu is also minus several of my favorite dishes.
Service was great and our server very attentive.
The noise level is so much higher than before the renovation.
In all, I don't think I'll be returning until things improve.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 2, 2024Updated review
I came here on a Saturday night for dinner and was glad we made reservations. At 6:30, the restaurant was full and there were some people waiting to be seated. The weather was perfect outside and we loved sitting on the comfy bench in their back patio. There were small heaters in between tables as well.
This time the octopus appetizer a little spicy but really good, I just wish it had more octopus in it. The garlic knots appetizer was really good as well, fresh and gooey and right out of the oven. I loved my branzino, it was perfectly cooked and tasted fresh. My friend liked their Pappardelle Bolognese as well. They liked the red sangria but I thought it was too sweet. The Little Italy cocktail was just ok, it tasted find of flat. I hated the Amalfi Spritz.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0May 21, 2019Previous reviewThere aren't that many places on the north side that are really cute and have great food. I would definitely recommend trying this one. Ask for Erica, she is super friendly, outgoing and helpful with menu items.
The two standout dishes were the mussels and the popes pillow dessert. It was a delicate pastry with fresh berries and cream. Their tom collins was also good.
The swordfish was nice and light but I was not a big fan of the octopus appetizer or the tortellini w/ shrimp and langostinos. - Mar 8, 2024Updated review
Ok, back again. Well, the food was very good. The Clams Vongole is always a home run, but again, if there is only six clam shells with three of them having meat inside, and the rest of the dish already has clam meat, then why have the shells? Makes no sense. Server was fantastic but the acoustics in BM are awful. Thus it's hard to hear when it gets busy. You should always make a reservation even during the week, because this is the best place for Italian in Oro Valley, and thus it gets busy.
BM is great at making modifications to their meals, if you have allergies or intolerance. I dumped the pancetta for example in my dish. I do wish that they included one piece of toasted bread with the dish.
The biggest surprise came as we were leaving. The owner, she is always there, saw us, we left at different points after the check, and not once said thank you for coming, or thank you or anything. Heck you go to places a lot cheaper and the host or hostess or server people will thank you. Especially the owner.
Anyway, parking is always horrible, enjoy the dirt lot. But BM delivers..ha I made a funny.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 15, 2022Previous reviewThe pluses, the Linguni with clams, is delicious. Tiny clams but plentiful. The sauce isn't overpowering despite it having lemon, butter, and wine. The dish comes with some chilis, which adds a kick to the dish, which is necessary. I had them remove the pancetta.
This isn't a dish where you want to tap into the sauce with bread. It just lacks the flavor profile to do that. Good food, though, plenty for one, but I never recommend linguini with clams as a leftover meal. The reheat for the dish never matches the original.
They give you bread, which is quite good, and an oil base with loads of garlic spread. I slide that garlic monster to the side and dipped the bread in the olive oil and what bits of balsamic vinegar that comes with it.
The Bottega here, service is a hit or miss. The miss comes from delay of getting your server. Once you get them, though, they are active, follow up, and ensure beverages are refilled.
This is probably the best Italian restaurant in Oro Valley. The parking lot is a field due to the main lot getting filled quickly.
I'm a big fan and repeat customer of the place, but on this most recent visit, the Bottega here instituted what I refer to as the dumb rule of the year. They informed us that since we didn't have a reservation, we only had 90 minutes to eat. Okay, I can see that option if it is a Friday night or Saturday night. But at 4.45 pm on a Thursday? Come on.
Great food. And whoever came up with that rule during the work week before typical dining times seriously needs to remember that many restaurants are still struggling for business to return. And that a recession is coming. - Apr 5, 2024
We have eaten here several times over the past year and we are never disappointed. I always say I'm going to venture out and try something new, but I don't! So let's go backwards... The tiramisu is so delicious. We went on my birthday and this was what they brought us. Bucatini Carbonara - I just cannot quit you! Added chicken to this and it was even better! The fried soft boiled egg on top is just a wonder of the world. The Linguini Marina - Blanco was good but we felt we should have ordered the Rosso (red) as it was more up our alley. And then to eh end (errr beginning), we got the fried goat cheese appetizer. It was divine.

Bottega MichelangeloÂ
Everyone is understaffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. Remember, they're busy because they're good. This restaurant still has that old time feel it's a definite classic type vibe.
This is with a modern look of high ceilings and wide open space. I was here last winter and really enjoyed the food and staff. I went recently and forgot how much I love the food. Happy hour really embraces the needs of people of a certain age (older) in the sense that it starts at 4 pm and goes until 7 pm. So if you come at 4 pm you can drive home before it's dark. (No daylight savings in Arizona)Â
My favorite dish during happy hour is the lamb lollipops.
Just love them, and the second favorite dish is the Pistachio encrusted baked goat cheese with their great bread. Those things with a nice brown lager (kilt lifter) are a wonderful dinner for me. There's plenty of space for groups to have fellowship together. And some wonderful dinner options as well.
This italian family has owned this restaurant for thirty five years.... It's been in a couple of locations but moved to where it is over 30 years ago
It has good food that is high quality. It has that atmosphere of any old school restaurant in any major city. Instead, it's tucked in near shopping mall in Oro Valley
 .I can't recommend this restaurant enough.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Oh my gosh I'm still dreaming of my pasta dish. I came here with my husband for our anniversary dinner, and the service and food were amazing. The bread in the beginning was hot and crusty and absolutely delicious. We had a reservation, but we still ended up waiting about 15 minutes to be seated, which was fine and didn't bother us too much. It was very busy inside and after eating here I totally understand why. I can't wait to go back

I hadn't been to this place since the renovation. Wow! What a change! The space is very inviting and modern. The bar area is beautiful and the patio spaces look amazing.
The service at the restaurant was quick and friendly.
My favorite things to get here are a coffee and a dessert. The latte was rich and creamy. My favorite dessert is the tiramisu. The limoncello cake was also amazing and a huge portion! I love coming here on an afternoon with a friend and just sitting and enjoying a treat.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

This is our go to for Happy Hour! But we love coming for lunch and dinner as well because everything on the menu is delicious!
We have catered from Bottega and had a private party in the Tuscan Room. No matter what the service and food is exceptional.
We love coming here for happy hour because there is so many items on the HH menu and it's available throughout the restaurant, not just at the bar area. Our favorite bites from that menu are the fried goat cheese, cacio e pepe fries, porchetta sliders, and the lollipop lamb chops! For dinner you can't go wrong with any of their pizzas or pastas. My lunch go to is the chopped salad. Everything is freshly made and I have never had a bad bite.
My husbands favorite thing at Michaelangelo are the desserts. He loves their chocolate mousse cake, but won't turn down any of the other choices if he was offered. We have tried pretty much all of them at this point. I love the salted caramel affogato if you're in the mood for ice cream. A rum baba if you're in the mood for something with liquor. Pope's pillow if you want something sweet and light. And of course the classic tiramisu or cannoli.
Definitely check it out and highly recommend a reservation.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
