This place takes me back to Monterrey Mexico where the cook bad ass Al pastor.
This place is a must. Freshly made food, extremely great white sauce , fresh ingredients , fast service and clean dining and outdoor as well. Only problem is parking but worth the wait to look for one. Trust.

This place was AMAZING!!! 10 out of 10! THE BEST fish tacos I've had in my life ! The batter was cooked to perfection and I loved the option of having it on a flour tortilla.I loved how they had a self-serve salsa bar. Service was amazing and ambiance was super chill!

On a rare choice, my girlfriend tried this place after eating Guisados as my want for street tacos wasn't satisfied.

We came in and ordered a carne asada taco that was juicy and flavorful. I also had a fish taco that was packed with creme sauce and plenty of cabbage. My girlfriend got her dream of a torta with pickled jalapenos and a side of pickled red onions and carrots. She was put in the right spot and loved this spot. I also got beans and rice that were really good and noticed that it was definitely more for two people to enjoy.

I like that its sided away from the busy spot of Chinatown so ill be more than ready to come back and try more stuff, especially their fries with carne asada.

This place is packed! Staff are friendly and quick with orders. There are a variety of salsa choices. People were telling me the sauces are spicy but it was only okay spicy. The burrito was very flavorful. My taco was a bit on the dry side. The chips were super crunchy. Only thing I didn't like they charged extra for meat and they didn't even tell us. We thought it was included already.

Located on a kind of desolate part of Figueroa just south of the 110, Mexicali Taco & Co. serves up some tasty and generous Mexican food. The tacos are regular (not "street") size, and the Baja-style fish taco is huge, practically a meal in itself. They have a serve-yourself salsa bar with all the usual accoutrements, including avocado salsa and other salsas so you can dress your tacos however you prefer (they arrive w/o salsa). The green salsa is tasty and has a nice kick. You get some charro beans with the tacos and that's also a nice touch. What keeps this from being a 5-star review is the fact most of the food is under-seasoned; everything is just ok, not spectacular, and that's a shame.

The dining room has a clean, sparse look and feel, and there is an outdoor patio and sidewalk seating as well. The service is courteous and friendly, too. After driving by the place countless times I finally decided to give it a shot and it was pretty good, so if you're in the area check them out.

This place is just amazing I got nachos and the cheese and salsa's they had were amazing. The ambiance of the place was nice they are dog friendly and had a patio outside with fake grass and tables. I went with my family and grandma the service was also amazing because my grandma ordered coffee it was around 7 so they didn't have any but they made on just for her. They even went far and gave her cookies which they don't even have on the menu. My family and I enjoyed this place and it deserves 5/5. Would recommend!

It used to be my favorite place til they decided to raise their prices to the point of over doing it. I know inflation is at its high, but common. $5.51 for a Mexican coke? And since when do "Mexican" restaurants charge extra for Asada on a taco, burrito or tostada???

Great little spot near Downtown. Parking is pretty bad around here so be aware. The food was great I ordered one of the lunch specials. The cachetada combo with asada. It's basically a tostada with cheese on the bottom and asada topped with chipotle sauce. I can see why it's called a slap in the face. They hit you with all the meat they pack on. You also get a Mexicali taco, beans, and chips. Not bad for 10.95. Great salsa bar and the piña agua fresca was very good. Eat inside or there are tables out side if you want some sunshine. Little spot with big flavor.

Food and service was excellent.
Would come back for sure... Good spot for food before the Dodger Game.
