Method Hair

I've been looking for a new spot for my hair needs - from blowouts to haircuts. I used to go to Love & Roots on East Cesar, but my stylist moved. I called Method Hair to make an appointment for a blow out on Friday and they had an opening for Saturday at 1 PM with Josh. I thought I get a blowout to test the waters. Make sure I was happy with the service and to check out the space.
The service experience felt effortless and relaxing. Josh was friendly, easy-going and an expert on all things hair. His product recommendations were super helpful and it didn't feel like he was pushing any of them on me. My hair is thick, long and I have so much of it. I came in looking like a gremlin and came out feeling like a hair commercial. No before and after pictures, unfortunately. But I felt incredible after!
My appointment didn't feel rushed, from the hair wash to the checkout, Josh dedicated his attention and care to me and my hair.
The salon itself was so clean spacious and there's a lot of natural light coming in. They also have art work all over the salon from local artists.
The receptionist, Alejandra, was very friendly on the phone and in person. Offered me something to drink - and they had all types of drink options! I went with a coke. The blowout was pricey, $75 plus tip but worth it.
I loved my experience so much that I made a haircut appointment!

So I've been looking for a new stylist for a while. I've been looking to get bond, black, and red colors for a long time. I found method hair and right away knew I wanted doug. We crushed my consultation. I came back for the service and became more amazed again with the staff. Doug was awesome and did the best job I've had in years. Doug gave off the best vibe and cannot wait to come back. Worth every cent.

Unfortunately, after going to Method exclusively for haircuts, I'll be seeking a new salon. I have fine, curly hair. I selected Crystal based on information on the website regarding her experience with curls. Everything has been great since....until my most recent appointment when Crystal introduced dry-brushing. This was never part of cuts before, and I NEVER dry brush my hair. It's incredibly damaging to my fine hair. I've been regretting sitting through it ever since, and think Crystal/Method should have mentioned this change to curly clients. I was clearly uncomfortable and she still did it. I should have left, but y'all know how hard it can be to do that in the moment. It's so hard to find a curly stylist that doesn't utterly destroy your hair due to ignorance or willful disregard for the unique needs of curly hair clients, but I can't bring myself to return knowing my hair will be dry brushed.

Great staff. Charlie, the receptionist helped me with the perfect stylist. Jacki took her time on my haircut and wedding hair do. She was the best. I may have to go to Austin for my next haircut.

Had my long hair massacred at another well known salon, went to Method afterwards and Aisha immediately saw the problems and knew how to minimize the damage. She executed a brilliant salvage operation and has my loyalty. Salon staff fit me in fast and everyone was sympathetic and accommodating. Won't go elsewhere now

Well...mixed reviews and thoughts here. I LOVE Method Hair and have been going here since around 2017/2018, when they were at their last location. They've done everything from full process color to balayage on me, and I've loved it every time. Until last October. They had lost the note of the usual brown we use on my hair, so we had to select a new one...and accidentally went wayyyyy too red. Im also not entirely convinced it wasn't permanent dye vs demi permanent. Regardless, red...red is a lesson learned.

At the time, they just said "oops!" and covered it up with a deep dark ash brown. For some reference, I'm a natural dirty blonde/bronde. When that darker Demi began to wash out, that red was still underneath. So, went back for another deep dark demi brown. Again, it started to wash out (as it's supposed to) and I was getting tired are that red. The stylist mentioned we could use a color remover, and I thought "nice, ok, goodbye red."

Nope. Nope not at all. In the salon after two rinses of the remover, it didn't look too bad, but this morning in the day light...I am a full on ginger, minus my bronde roots. All the remover did was take out the remaining brown I had in my hair. I reallyyyy don't have the skin tone for a ginger lol.

At this point, I'm going to need to go to a blonde specialist to try to get back to even a hint of my natural hair. I smell my first ever bleach treatment coming unfortunately. Which is frustrating, but (expensive) lesson learned. Luckily hair grows back, and in a year or two that red will have grown out and be gone forever. Just wish we could have actually worked harder to actually fix it. But I'm a little wary of this salon now, as the attempt to fix really only made it worse and cost me money I'll need to try to actually fix it.

I had an excellent experience at Method Hair. The salon has a cool, airy, bright, modern vibe. When I arrived, I was greeted and offered an array of beverages and then was quickly in the stylist's chair with Sarah. Sarah was great! I have been growing my hair out for 3 years and and was a little attached to all that length. Sarah gave me a very natural looking trim and I've already gotten compliments on the cut. I was able to donate my hair and Sarah took care of all the details right there in the salon. She also taught me a lot about my hair, hairline and suggested some products that might be perfect for me. I'm happy I came here and will be back!

UPDATE: staff was so accommodating with a refund. So helpful and quick. I appreciated their understanding much!

The staff members are SO friendly and booking was easy, salon was gorgeous and clean.

Im really not happy with my cut by Jessie, they were super super nice and personable but my layers look like my hair is one part chin length hair and one part extensions. I didn't notice how not blended the pieces were until I took my first shower. I wish I could get a refund as I'm definitely going to need to get it fixed.

Soooo I have been seeing Clover for almost 6/7 years now??? I would follow her literally out of the country to get my hair done because it's that amazing. Love the ambiance at Method, the product selection, the mimosas, and the music. Please, please check out Clover if you can - she is the witchiest of hair witches and you will leave looking AMAZING.
